    I admire how you do that so naturally. I'm damn stiff and totally uncapable of doing something like that. I mostly watch these vids 'cause I'm amazed by what you do, and how you do it.

      So did Lindy change his mind?
      I quite find that it adds something to my appreciation of Lindy that I disagree with him on some things, sort of like the idea he illustrated in that video where he crosses out articles in the paper that he agrees with.

      Clearly Lloyd will have changed his mind now since that was an old video and everything Al Gore and his expert scientists predicted turned out to be true, the polar ice caps melted back in 2013, polar bears are extinct and food is running out. Billions will now die because we wouldn't hand over all power to a global government. International socialism could've saved us. With socialism no one has to starve.

    Ah, the old tuck turn. I'm pretty sure that this "dance" was originally an evasive movement learned by 16c infantrymen to lessen the chance of being hit by over-sized double-bitted axes, fire arrows, highly poisonous swords which killed instantly, the arrows from ineffective mounted archers and even the charge of a berserker....sadly the infantrymen could never avoid the flaming Spandau's!!!

    It's sort of strange to me, albeit oddly satisfying to see European embrace something that's so quintessentially American as jazz and swing. I say the satisfaction is odd because I don't usually feel a sense of vicarious satisfaction or pride in aspects of my country's history or culture with which I had nothing to do

    • @lindybeige
      @lindybeige  8 лет назад +18

      I agree. Most cultures in that general area are somewhat insular but South Korea has almost been craving new an interesting cultures to come share. I have been there once or twice. They have really taken a liking to American style BBQ by the way, ha. It feels like a two way street though as they seem more then happy to share their culture too, which is nice.

    The last bit about the footwork is just like grammatical rules in creative writing. At beginner level, you don't know all the rules. At intermediate level, you're following the rules as they're written. At advanced, you've learned when and how to break the rules for creative flavour or a personal touch.

    Lindy do you think maybe you could make a video on your favourite music/bands/genres? if you like music that is...
    It would be an interesting yet not to intrusive glimpse into your personal life and your mind you can tell alot about someone by the music they listen to :) just a thought

    Oh man I love these Lindyhop videos. Where can I find a place to learn in Germany?
    EDIT: Or asked differently, could we as viewers commission a basic course?

    Lindybeige, you're a rather awesome gentleman, if I may say so myself.

    Lindy, I'm thinking of writing a story that involves Roman legionaries. Can you recommend any resources that'd be particularly useful toward the end of maintaining some semblance of historical authenticity?
