My daughter had a wedding in Cabo San Lucas in 2012. It was an “all inclusive” event and it was wonderful. No one had any incidents there. We were there for 7 days. I went to Cancun several times when I lived in San Diego in the late 1990’s. Never had a bad experience. I’m curious what they were poised with, and it had to be something like fentanyl, if they were so bad off that they had to be intubated and put on a ventilator. I’m so glad they’re ok. For the most part. Stay strong, Zara. You’re lucky to have a wonderful friend (boyfriend) that didn’t leave your side. Give him a hug from us here in Idaho. I hope you will continue posting your progress, so we can all celebrate and cheer you on. ❤
Stuff like that has happened a lot at some Mexican resorts. They have a connection with those private hospitals. They get you sick and send you to those hospitals to get a pay out.
This is 💯 true!! Happened to me- I learned quickly after that to not trust a lot of the hotels because many are run by cartels. They took me to a hospital called Hospiten in Cancun- cost thousands of dollars but I was fortunate that my health insurance covers international medical expenses.

Where’s your source? They were having a pool day… which means you spend the day at the pool playing in the water swimming and having fun……. Why are you making assumptions that they were looking for drugs?
Before you write your hateful comments towards Mexico, the Mexican government has shown videos that the two girl were just drinking and drinking to the point that they had to lied that they were “drugged” so they didn’t have to pay for it. They were even asking to put in jail the two bartenders which they actually told the girls who had two American males with them to stop drinking because they were causing disturbing at the pool. If you really want answers you should read the entire story. In Mexico it was in the national news. It’s not a common practice that foreigners go there, they get wasted and end up at the hospital and then they don’t want to pay the bill so they start making stories up. This fake stories only make Mexico look as the bad guy which fuels even more the story that people in Mexico are looking to hurt foreigners which is a complete lie. Mexican people are one of the most humble people in the world. Mexico also protects tourists because that is one of the main means of bringing revenue into the country. These stories are just pure lies. The media is just full of it and you guys know it.

Why are you drinking water from a glass and not bottled water in Mexico anyway?! No offense to the country but the filtration and quality is not the same as at home.
I went to an ER here in the States and they billed my insurance $13,000 for a 3 hour stay. I've called to get my bill because I don't want them to sneakily send it off to collections. It's not just Mexico with a hospital scamming issue.
The fact that they don't want to share the name of the resort or the hospital causes me concern, and if they really wanted to give a warning to others they would give the name of the resort and the hospital so that way people can avoid going to that resort and so they don't end up in that hospital! Perhaps that's the reason why she doesn't want to give the name of the resort or the hospital!
They probably won't share the name of the hotel because they know they will be defaming the business and could be sued, since this is probably a fake story. They went to party, they did, went overboard and now have a fake story to serve up to the media.

Most people who get drugged at the resorts in Mexico, don’t even survive so these people are lucky they’re alive. Anybody who says the story is made up needs some serious help.
You take your life in your hands at every turn when you go to Mexico. I've been there on vacation and the best day was when we left the resort where men with machine guns were guarding the entrance, I noticed there were numerous bullet-resistant vehicles in the hotel parking lot with Mexican plates. Does that tell you anything about how dangerous the place you are vacationing. 🤔
When I went off to college, part of the entry process was a lecture where we were told how to keep that from happening. Order only items in bottles and open them yourself. Keep your thumb over the end of the bottle if you’re not drinking from it.
What is the U.S. Government waiting to issue a travel advisory to these resorts ? Most Americans dont know about this. Shame on the criminals who run the resorts.
It’s been on the advisory list for at least 5 years. At one point it was in yellow level. But one must read the list. Apparently doing research isn’t a college student thing to do.

To all the people who continue to vacation in Mexico, you do you and have a good time. For the rest of us, there are so many beautiful places to vacation in the US alone, we will pay more for the peace of mind when it comes to safety and medical care. Haters can hate but expect no apologies.
More to this story. Why not name resort? Why would an employee drug them? And is she implying the hospital was involved and if you go out of country be prepared for medical mishaps. It all just seems odd
They do have tourist hospitals where they take Americans or other foreigners and charge them insane amounts of money- this happened to me- the ones in Cancun are called “hospiten”-- ask a local and they will have no idea what hospital it is… because that is not were they take anyone but foreigners
or got drugged unwillingly with spiked drinks in a sex trafficking operation that the hotel is complicit and cooperative in....have you considered there's more than one possibility?
@@bloodlove93 there is that chance, but also, the fact that they dont want to name the resort, even though they are already outside of mexico, makes me question their story. also, they both ordered plain water at the beach resort? we cant rule out the posibility that they had just bougt drugs, drank them with water, and the drugs ended up being laced with something stronger. it doesnt make sense that they dont want to name the resort "out of safety" they are inside the US, no cartel would dare hurt them here. when a cartel accidentally mistook and murdered multiple americans in mexico, the cartel apologized and said it was a case of mistaken identity, and then surrendered their own members to the authorities.
It is important to name the resort and the hospital! The American embassy should issue a press release ASAP
Why? People will do what they want, and nothing you or the government says will stop them. It is what it is.

My daughter had a wedding in Cabo San Lucas in 2012. It was an “all inclusive” event and it was wonderful. No one had any incidents there. We were there for 7 days. I went to Cancun several times when I lived in San Diego in the late 1990’s. Never had a bad experience.

This fake stories only make Mexico look as the bad guy which fuels even more the story that people in Mexico are looking to hurt foreigners which is a complete lie.
