Superfruit is an entirely different species than PTX! It’s Scott and Mitch’s journey through their 20’s while being room mates! Everything they do is the best!
One thing I really appreciate is how much they still use their crystal clear, crisp PTX diction here, so you can pick up every one of the sly lyrics. Superfruit allowed them to be very different from their earnest, clean Pentatonix selves.

So Superfruit started out as a weekly comedy vlog by Scott and Mitch, who were roommates at the time as they traveled around with PTX. The episodes were once a week. Funny, silly and when they sing insanely great. So they become so popular that they created an original album called “ Future Friends” The song 5:48 Guy EXE featuring mad scientist Mitch is one. This song doesn't have one because it's an officicial video that goes with one of their "Future Friends" albums; none of the really professional looking videos do, nor does their cover of Katy Perry's "Rise" (which was totally serious, and I highly recommend it), but almost all the videos where they're just hanging out and riffing off each other do. When in doubt, just wait and see - if the blooper reel isn't there all you've lost is a few seconds.
Scott and Mitch started a RUclips vlog called Superfruit in 2013 when they were sharing an apartment and Pentatonix was still working to build their brand. The vlog was mostly them chatting, joking around, doing RUclips challenges, sometimes with guests. Occasionally they would do a musical episode, when they would get obsessed with a new album or an artist, put together a medley, and record them performing it in the apartment or a studio, just the two of them and a piano arrangement by Scott. That's something they'd been doing since high school. In 2016 they got serious and were starting to earn some money through Pentatonix. They wrote a bunch of songs and worked with other songwriters / producers to arrange and record around a dozen of them, released in 2017 in two EP's -- Future Friends 1&2. They later combined the EPs into a Future Friends album. Then they worked with a variety of designers / directors / producers to make music videos for all the songs -- full productions with sets, costumes, lighting, backup dancers. By the end of 2017 the vlog had ended, though they did one last music video in 2019, a cover of When In Rome's "The Promise".
Love Superfruit! Frozen, Empire Medley, Lady Gaga Evolution, Rise, Hip Hop Goes Broadway 1 & 2., Feeling Myself, any Future Friend Album official music videos (like this one, GUY.EXE). GUY.EXE. is one of my many Superfruit favorites, but this is just a layer of Superfruit. For some totally different ones try yoga, ghost hunting, 50 bad impressions, 75(I think) bad pickup lines. And do the songs. They are hilarious and Mitch can rap. Like you said, Superfruit is a different side of Mitch and Scott. All the songs from the 2 part Album are great. They also do an amazing job on Evolution of Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and Beyoncé. The 2 Hip Hop goes Broadway are a testament to their musical genius and mindset. Everything they produced musically for real or fun on that channel is our 🔥. ❤ Glad you enjoyed their side project. Sad to say, they longer create any content for that channel. 😢They got their own places as PTX became successful and grew up more or less and didn’t really have the time any longer. The whole Future Friends EP has an 80’s edm sort of feel, kind of like Mitch’s just released song “Oblivion” from his Messer solo project. I recommend all of it. I’m completely entranced by the Messer release, Mitch is so, so, so good! Scott’s recent “Mars” and “Parallel” have a bit of a retro feel, too. Very beautiful songs, a bit more mainstream pop than Mitch’s slightly more alternative edm underground Messer project. Both of them have become extraordinary song writers working collaboratively on the extensive catalog of original PTX music, their duo Superfruit originals, and these solo projects. I always expect to love it, and yet they always manage to blow me away with something new and surprising. I currently have “Oblivion” on loop, lol. I’m glad you enjoyed your first taste of Superfruit.
So glad you did this one! I've watched that so many times and it still makes me laugh - the looks on Mitch's face - so good! It reminds me of The Rocky Horror Picture show with nods to MJ's Thriller. You can tell they have been friends since high school - the Superfruit stuff is where they feel more free to be their true selves and is often quite funny.

A few music video favorites are Empire Medley, Bad for Us (dance video), Beyonce Medley, Future Friends and HipHop goes Broadway 1 & 2. Some of their vlogs, like Ghost Hunting, Pet Peeves with Todrick Hall and 75 Ways to Ditch Your Date, are all really fun.
You’ve gotta check out their Evolution videos. All of them are fantastic, but my fav is the Evol of Nikki Minaj. Mitch is RIDIC!! Also for Pentatonix, check out the Popspring 2106 Cpncert. It’s live and they do mostly originals and the Evol of Michael Jackson. It’s a good indication of what they are capable of, which is pretty much exactly what you hear on their videos. They always say, we don’t sing anything recorded that we can’t also do live. check it out!!!!!!

They would record their content from home, from tour, from studios, from backstage, etc. Some with guests, most without. They have a lot of different types of content. All very entertaining to me. I strongly recommend Scott’s solo work too. He just got married and released a beautiful song about the proposal called four and his other two singles from his upcoming ep (out July 28) are mars and parallel and music videos are stunning for both

I think I might have worked on a computer like that and one even older when I started my first job. I don’t want to talk about it. 😒 😂 When I was in undergrad we had to go to the computer lab, type in our lines of code, compile it and submit it to see if it worked. I just missed the computer cards that held your code, thank the goodness. It was bad enough already. This has nothing to do with the video? 🤷🏼♀️ Superfruit is very diverse and you will be amazed at so many of their videos. Okay bye! ✌🏻
