Great reaction, as always! This one never fails to crack me up, no matter how many times I watch it. You probably already noticed it, but everything the rooster causes is chicken-related: Chicken - eggs Moo cow - eggnog Gum tree - chic(k)lets Waitress - cock-tails Their attention to detail in their humor is incredible!
Knew you would like it! Pentatonix are the student council. Home Free are the guys in the parking lot having a kegger. VoicePlay are the music/theater geeks.
Short-Hair Geoff often wore a bow tie. Long-Hair Geoff does not. He wears one in Butter, but it's not tied. I don't know the origin of the song but I remember singing a variation of it for a skit at girls' camp, in the 80's. There's another live version where VoicePlay is performing at a college or university and Earl asks if the audience knows what Chiclets are (and explains because they didn't). Another version has Paul from Toxic Audio filling in when Tony was unavailable. When Paul grudgingly goes up to be the waitress, he mutters "They didn't pay me enough for this." And he screams when the rooster comes at him. Hysterical. VP has been performing a variation of this song since they were in school or shortly after, maybe even before they were 4:2Five. There's an audio-only version on YT that has Geoff, Layne, Earl (unmistakable voices even that young) with I think Scott Porter. Sounds like it was done at a school talent show but I'm not sure. Got a lot of laughs.
Inside tip: Tony was channeling his sister Maggie. (He also took something she said and made it a hilarious part of Pattycake’s Quarantine The Musical that they made for charity during Covid. He even had her say it in the video, but she didn’t realize what he had done. You might want to react to that. She’s the one that mentions her wedding. Tony sings in it and Layne’s daughter and dog Melo also appear.)
it's an old traditional folk song that nobody seems to quite know where originates from or when it was created. it has endless amounts of verses that people have made up over the years, varying from family friendly to NSFW, so no version seems to be quite the same as the next. it's often sung at summer camps as far as i've understood.
"They should do an updated version of this." I'm not the only one that immediately thought Cesar would absolutely SLAY the waitress bit, right? Right? 🤣🤣🤣
With regards to where the song came from I believe they took the tune to an old children's song and wrote their own lyrics. I used to sing a slightly different, more young child appropriate version at summer camp for many, many years when I was a kid. But ours had something to do with a cow, a gas pump, a fountain, and losing our words. The rooster solving the problem however, is a staple in every version I've heard. 🤣
out of all of the reactions I have seen on your channel, I would have to say 2:58 in this one is probably the hardest I personally have seen you laugh and I wanted to tell you that your laughter is very contagious. I love being part of the King Fam community!
@@KingFamilyReacts please please do a reaction video of Voice Plays cover of In The Hall Of The Mountain King. It just came out & it looks scary. Thank you.
Love the air grab at the end of everyone's piece. Makes them look as if they are being serious but we know they are far from serious. The version with Paul as Tony couldn't make it is just as funny. Love the channel keep up the good work.
I have a playlist now of Voiceplay Live. The video and audio quality is not good on most of them, but the genius of Voiceplay is always evident! Thanx for reacting to this one, Dennis!
I love your reaction They release a new song on Patreon and normally this song it s release Friday on RUclips I m so excited to see your reaction to this 😋😋
I actually think that this is one of their few originals 😁 It’s hilarious. But it took me ages to find out what chicklets means. I finally realised when I googled different kinds of gum trees... 😊
@@patriciaschuman4205 I think it is 😀 And not being a native English speaker, I didn't realise that it wasn't a word, and the meanings I found when spelling "chicklets" (instead of chiclets) did not fit the word play in this song at all. It took so long for me to realise that I could google gum trees instead and perhaps find som info that way 🤣
@@veronicathunander4579 Thank you so much... in one Video Geoff asks the crowd, if they knew what chiclets were... and I always had to whimper "nooo" ... now all is good! 😘
Love your reactions to your videos. This one takes the cake. They do another rendition of this song where Tony couldn't make it so they had Paul fill in. It was filled with a lot of laughs throughout on stage.
I LOVE voiceplay! I missed this one somewhere along the way. Can't wait to share it with friends. Loved your reaction. Your laughter is wonderful 💖 thanks for this one.
(Correct me if I'm wrong folks!) But I remember hearing that Geoff was asked what song they would do if they were ever invited to the White House, and he replied 'The Chicken Song'.
you need to watch it again and focus on Layne and Earl they are barely able to keep it together! ❤️🏴

I didn't know that was Tony's sister! I was too busy laughing at Layne's daughter Doris coloring on Tony's face.
@@shirleykarr560 yes! You could tell they’d done multiple takes. But the way Tony loves his goddaughter, she could do that any time.
One of my favorite things that came out of quarantine! 😂 🤣 It is perfection.
Those EYES at the appearance of Rooster Eli! XD
Now you need to watch their live performance of "Elvira" by the Oak Street Boys. ... Guy
I found 6 of these live performances, my favourite from 2019 (best sound and video quality) was posted by Stacy Tee, just hilarious!
Layne laid an egg 😂& Earl innocently wanted to be milked was great.....Geoff to Tony, ''You look great'' and Eli's rossters was awesome

Vocal Performances AND Comedy. LMAO!!!

Yeah, I guess the brandname of gum 'Chiclets' is strictly American, LOL.

@@karinwolf9639 It’s some kind of mix of candy and chewing gum, where the chewing part was made from a gum tree.

I have memories of the chicken at a wedding from when I was a little girl. You do realize these guys are absolutely shameless.

😂
Def not a childrens song
