The great Ralph Gibson is absolutely right (like always). A good pictures is a good picture no matter if it's noisy or blurry or unsharp. A good reminder. Some more content with Ralph would be great...

IT MUST B... nah, I'm done saying that :D Damn the files looked crispy. Surprised about the noise though BUT you gave us folks who shoot old gear some hope with that Gibson wisdom haha. Now I kinda wanna raise my iso on purpose and get artsy with it.

While fighting with myself for months "Buy It ..... Don't Buy it" before purchasing my first Leica and ended up with a Q2 three months ago. Now I have the Leica bug I am waiting for black M10R but my goal, I have to master manual focus on the Q2 to purchase my reward. Love your work and great listen on the Podcast last week. I started of doing landscapes and noise was a NO NO..... but since I started doing street Fuji cameras thought me to embrace noise and it has improved my photography. I was going to say No 7 But I am going with No 10 because M10R camera

Great point: above ISO>1600 the grain and noise becomes high. I would say not much improvement compared to the M240. It's a pity :/

49. I have not seen any M10-R profiles in C1P 21 beta, but i am sure it is coming. you can always use No Color Correction in ICC profile or make your own
I’ve got my import settings to do no color correction with a linear response and I still get the weird color blotches. I’m sure a fix will come soonish.

1987 - Hey, I wonder if what you’re seeing in Capture One is just the low res JPG that’s baked as a preview in the DNG files...
About the video, interesting. Audio volume was all over the place, specially in the last part.

Interesting theory but the DNG files definitely looked crisper then the JPGS.
I think the question is does one need all that resolution? There is a megapixel marketing war going on, and I think one can still be happy with grainy 24MP shots as much as with grainy 12MP equivalent 35mm film photos taken on an analogue M. I bet Mr. Gibson would agree. The extra resolution doesn't make him a better photographer, but the M10R's DNGs sure make him a better consumer of digital storage space and devices.
Sure, I agree but it really depends on your workflow and what you’re doing with the files. Ralph Gibson makes very large prints and has put out over 50 books. I think for someone like him, more resolution is a welcome upgrade.
For most of us that only post on Instagram, it’s probably not necessary.
My guess is 1967. I loved hearing about the destructive color editing process and how that can impact the file. Something I never thought about before. Keep up the great content!

Yoooo...the background setting in the beginning is soo dope. Simple, rough, and elegant haha. Grey is my favorite color too. I'm a little jealous. And that nugget that Ralph Gibson dropped...the mic, "the better you get a photoshopped, the more your work looks like your good at photoshop." WOW!!!!! hahaha
Check out Sarah Oliphant’s work. She is a legendary backdrop painter. I got these drops custom made and they’re double sided. I’d highly recommend a single sided one. If you’ve ever seen a hand painted drop in an add (vanity fair, Anne Leibovitz) it was Sarah. 👌🏾

#199 - focus-by-wire ruins any manual focusing experience for me on the fuji x series. I don't think a tab would fix that.
You’re correct. What I should have said was “get rid of the focus by wire”.

The "R" is a weird camera for me... because I don't care about resolution anymore, we're way past a resolution that matters to me. I care about sensor quality, ISO, film emulations, experience and what I can do with the camera. So initially I didn't think I'd care about it. But the sensor puts out great looking images! So now I'm reconsidering it...
All valid points but you might as well save a few extra thousand dollars and snag an M10p?

Dope video man. I stopped shooting digital and my last digital camera was the x100f which I got used, but still ended up losing a few hundred dollars in the sell after I wanted to get rid of it. I think the point you made about the price of the Leica digital Ms not degrading in value like usual digital cameras is a big selling point on top of the M experience. Great points!

LR have full support M10R not Capture one which seems to change color at high ISO to green
The color shifts i’m seeing happens at 1600. I guess that high for professional standards. 🤷🏾♂️
@@Stockezy that’s not the case in Lightroom, iso 8000 looks ok and no color shift. So I use C1 for everything except M10R

720! also my question wasnt technicaly answered XD i meant high iso when the file really starts to fall appart and clusters of colour noise starts to show up! i shoot at 6400-25600 and im curious when the actual gain just falls apart to unusable! i love pusing my iso for noise! it adds some texture to the photographs and will still look amazing printed or even just posted on insta
Hey brother! Apologies I didn’t go to deep with the technical stuff. After speaking with Ralph I was discouraged. I’d say anything after 12500 and you’re in that breakdown zone for sure!

That was interesting and fun to watch, but I think you were going too fast. What color is a brown paper bag or an orange traffic barrier supposed to be? You're not taking my HP laptop colors into account. It's the image that counts. Why NOT ISO 100?

The portrait at 0:20 is very good. I have been thinking of selling all my Nikon gear to buy a Leica and your video does not really help.
57 --- as always, solid content. Ralphs words make help me continue to be inspired to go out and shoot with my xpro2 while i save for an m10. The camera definitely helps, but it doesn't create the eye or instinct. Yeww!

Being a 4/3 shooter for almost 17 years the comments reminds me of the hate both formats always takes for different reasons, lol! Anyways your prospective on photography is always interesting.
