@@trulinegraphics It is true but it's a nice step they are taking for the future of the corps. They are upping the difficultly and improving as a corps as a whole. It will be exciting to see where they go from here.

@@jjh2456 A great brass line starts at the bottom. The higher voices may get all the showy parts but they don't sound good without the support of great baritone and contra sections.
I remember seeing this in Pasadena and thinking to myself “the ballad is THE moment for them that’ll get a mid show standing-o.” So powerful and well paced! They make you wait for it and the payoff is so worth it!

I prefer this over crowns ballad too. Nothing against crown it’s just that I’ve heard “Gabriels Oboe” done several times by other corps. Never heard this piece on the field. That factor alone makes me sway this way. New and fresh vs fresh take

yomama847 they were solid but brass wise this show wipes the floor, with an exception to 10 which is pretty close but still not as strong as this years
Good ass comeback for the Cavaliers, last year wasn’t as strong but this one was a strong year for them

Infinity Productions so now I understand the power of their Mellos when the Africa by Toto in their encores.
SCV has percussion, CC has brass, BC has colorguard, BD is BD, but The Cavaliers have the most passionate players on the field. It is insane. They have the absolute killer mentality and drive to perform on such incredible level. No other corps gets me rallied up as much as the Cavs

@@TarekMurray3 Also the Bluecoats don't really have the best color guard lol, that would also go to Devils. The Bluecoats are just generally really good in every area, which is why they seem to be poised to take over Blue Devils if anyone will.
LameStudiosInc I would actually say that BAC currently are on top in color guard. That corps isn’t as well rounded though. Their other captions aren’t quite there yet.

I deadass listened to this over a hundred times and I cannot get over how good it is. I liked scv's show better overall (I also play snare and paul rennick is amazing) but this is better than any individual moment of any other show that I've seen.
This part of the show=ahhhhhhhhhhhhh. One of my favorite 2019 moments and one of my best Cavalier moments in a long while.
That brass sounds fantastic, passionate and skilled!

At first glance, I thought I was watching the Troopers.
Cavaliers of the past suggested the theme with guard uniforms, brilliant drill design, and genius musical choices and arrangements. Frankly, I like the oil drums, but the stage is extra, and grey uniforms don't show up in a stadium. One out of three is not bad, but it's not winning either.

Should’ve beat Crown and SCV
I totally agree Cavs the best show and Boston should have gotten 4 they both did better jobs the Scv and Crown but some corps are over rated to be honest Babylon was amazing to the tea and Relentless was jaw dropping. All I'm saying is that Bluecoats in first, Devils in second, Cavs in third, Boston in fourth, Crown in fifth, Scv in sixth, Knights in seventh, Crossmen in eighth, Mandarins in ninth, Phantom in tenth, Spirit in eleventh, and Pacific Crest in twelfth. Stars in 14, and so. This is my opinion if u got questions come see.

We had that happen countless times throughout the season. Pretty unavoidable unfortunately, the outer tube on the slide got knocked out and fell on the ground ~10 feet off the ground. Those bones got beat up that summer lol
Oh, thank goodness they did the squat-knee-turn move at the end! I haven’t seen enough of that and it’s totally relevant to “wrong side of the tracks.”

God what happened to DCI? The old uniforms were so much better and really told the show in a different way compared to now. So sad to see a beautiful piece of DCI fade away
I marched when we transitioned to 3 valves and heard all the complaints. It's also part of Cavalier lore that they helped kill drum corps in the early 70's with circus characters on the field.
In all actuality, a drum and bugle corps is a small group of drummers, sometimes playing bugles also and sometimes having separate buglists, who march in front of the band in formation. The whole idea of valves, different voices, and a football field are ridiculous in themselves.
Immaturity in Tone for a 3rd place brassline, rhythms etc, not quite the old cavaliers level yet (2011 and before)
