They are very nice fish, like the bright color. I like the variety of fish you have in your tank. Haha dim the lights to get the mood right. That's crazy how the fish goes from gold to black. very informative video thanks for posting.
Awesome species profile Daniel 😊, i absolutely love rainbow cichlids, and those colours wow! They are stunning! My lfs has some juveniles in atm at £12.99 each?. Once they start breeding they wont stop lol. I use hikari first bitez and also frozen cyclops for my acara and kribensis fry. I've noticed that my electric blue Acara and blue Acara want to spawn again but they still have there spawn from last time with them lol. Thankyou so much for a very professionally, informative video mate 😊
Dear Daniel: The first, egg-laying species I bred was albino, convict cichlids (Amatitlania nigrofasciata). These are vicious and breed, probably more readily and prolifically than any, other, often-kept species. I had a lot of fun, with them, until the female expired, after three spawns. I moved on, to more desirable cichlids, before returning to docile species. Thank you for sharing this, fascinating and informative video, on breeding this, lovely species. All my best, Sincerely, E. J. Brinegar
JimmyP here Daniel. My goodness man, this is a spectacular video. And I mean it. You are truly one of my favorite fish keeping friends. Keep it going. I always love seeing your activities.
Great profile on a great species. Well done Daniel. A hint is to add the scientific name to the description. It will render more trafic from searches.🙂👍
Amazing video the fish are looking fantastic .. i love the rainbows i think they are beautiful fish . My 8 what i have with large tinfoil barbs , chocolate cichlid , Oscar etc do really well
Thanks Mandy. Yeah that's one of the great things about them; you can keep them in a peaceful tank, a species only set up and they can hold their own with larger more aggressive tank mates hey.
This is wild, i have severums and an eb acara, and am contemplating getting rainbow cichlids and came across your video. Kind of confirmed my decision for sure.
These Mesoamerican cichlids are wonderful, I bred Herotilapia multispinosa many years ago and I really like their reproductive behavior and care of their offspring. The color change in these phases is extraordinary. Excellent food for Hikari's little ones. Good day Daniel
I have 1 with an electric blue acara and a keyhole with a mix pf rainbow fishes, all happy. I also have 1 in my more community tank with tetra, cories and gouramis.
I always really enjoy your species profiles, they're so well done and informative. Lovely looking fish, great footage of the wigglers, too. That was quite the shimmy from the male! Fantastic video, Daniel, hope you're doing well! 🙂👍
Thank you very much Tara. Not sure about well done but I enjoy making them. Yeah they were both showing off to each other for ages, just refused to do it any time I tried to film haha.. Hope you are well also.
Full view including commercials hmmmm Lindor... Nice cichlids.. they definitely have some pop. The blue accara look great too.. They must be happy because they look amazing. Tank looks great.
New subscriber here 👋 Love Cichlids. That's one species i always wanted to get, but never did. Definitely missed out. Great video, really! Best one I've seen on the Internet about Rainbow Cichlids!!!
I was given 6 rainbow chiclids but had a red tail that bullied and bullied them so ended up giving 4 away. Then one of the ones a kept died and now I only have one female. Can't find them in any aquarium shops, rehoming sites. Just want one make to keep her company
Yeah Red Tails can be mean hey. I don't see them in the shops around here much, only twice so far I think. If you're anywhere near Glasgow I'd be happy to meet you and give you one of mine. Otherwise I'd suggest trying the online sellers. You may have to pay a bit more as you'll probably need to pay delivery but may be your solution.
I have had four for quite a while. They're wonderful and always come out front to see me. One is always a little more picked on for some reason - a floating log helps! I was wondering if they would eat live ghost shrimp. I'm thinking the shrimp might be too large for them.
@@DanielKeepingFish I will let you know, when we did! After talking to my four rainbow cichlids for a few minutes the other day, we noticed they'd colored up considerably, and their entire lower fins were electric blue. Talk to your fish, people! 🙃
@DanielKeepingFish I bought a second hand Rio 125 a couple of weeks ago and i've been thinking of what i could put in there. Do you think i could do a pair of Rainbow's with 10 or so medium sized tetras?

Thanks very much. Very nice of you to say those things about my video.

WOW!!! You did a great job on this!!! BRAVO!!! 👏👏👏
Ah man. Coming from yourself I consider that high praise so I really appreciate it. Thank you very much.

great species profile
Very interesting 🤔
Pretty cool fish mate.

It's a nice combo for sure. The Rainbows are the most timid of the trio but quie comfortable in that mix in my experience.

Great video, thanks!
Thanks Andy, glad you liked it. I enjoyed making it.

Sounds ace. One of the best things about this fish is the range of tank mates we can keep them with and they look and work great in each scenario hey.

Thanks boys. Yeah they're super cool fish I reckon.
Great info on these beautiful fish!
Thanks very much. They're real stunners hey.

Great profile buddy😊
Thanks very much mate.
A species I have considered but as yet have not kept. Great video with some awesome close up footage.
Thanks mate. Definitely an option for one of the tanks in the new fish room hey. Bet you'd love them.
👍👍👍
A fantastic species Daniel, great video and a side note love those Albino Hoplo Catfish
Thanks very much mate. I know right? I didn't expect to enjoy the Hoplos so much when I first kept them but they're great wee fish. So much character.
@@DanielKeepingFish yes they are my pair are amazing i went looking for the albino ones but ended up with these lol
Really interesting on the eggs hatching and the fry. Wow did they ever get dark

I'm not sure to be honest. I've never kept any kind of shrimp with them. Maybe get just one or two shrimp at first and see how it goes.

Simp tank set ups?
I'm not a hundred percent sure what you're asking. If you'd be able to re-phrase it I'll do my best to answer.
@DanielKeepingFish I bought a second hand Rio 125 a couple of weeks ago and i've been thinking of what i could put in there. Do you think i could do a pair of Rainbow's with 10 or so medium sized tetras?
It's probably approaching the low end of tank sizes for the Rainbows but yeah you could do that for sure. You'll love them too.
@@DanielKeepingFish Thanks a lot, i might just try it 👍🏻
