- A beloved actor from "General Hospital" is being remembered as a hero after police say he was gunned down while shielding a female friend as thieves tried to steal his catalytic converter. Johnny Wactor was best known for his role as Brando Corbin on the popular soap opera. Early Saturday morning, the 37-year-old was shot dead after cops say he discovered his Toyota Prius placed on a car jack and he confronted the men surrounding his vehicle.

The issue of catalytic converter theft is the smallest part of it. The bigger part and at issue is this lawlessness that goes unpunished in California.
The biggest issue is people buying these knowing exactly where it came from. They’re creating the market
Punishment doesn’t reduce recidivism. We need to change that mentality. Do people need consequences and, sometimes, to be removed from society? Absolutely. Do jails/prisons actually leave people reformed when they’re released? Absolutely not. We need to start asking how we can reform/REPLACE the CJ system to truly make our communities safer.
Coming from a third world country with death penalty, nope, the punishment doesnt resolve the crime rate. 😂 I kinda agree with the first guy - cutoff the supply chain - that would at least stop them from stealing those converters. They'll just steal something else though
