First 2022 Full Garden Walk | Two Gardens! | Garden Update | Growing our Food!

Here at Calvey Homestead, we have been changing some things. (More about that in the next video) We do things a bit differently to be as self-sufficient as possible. We want to grow our food for the year and this year is our first time really putting the effort in. We are officially starting the new garden space to start growing our food for the year.

I'm new also this is our first year for our own garden. We have learned a lot and still have a lot to learn. It's a lot of work but this is what we want. We still don't have indoor plumbing. We have solar electricity but not enough batteries so we have to conserve. We harvest rain water also. It's an adventure for sure. Best wishes on your journey! I will stay tuned! Big hugs! 🙏💖

That is amazing and so cool!!! I can’t believe the amount of work that it takes, but it is SO worth it! I call one of my gardens a weed garden. 🤣 As long as I’m harvesting something, I call it a success!

@@CalveyHomestead Yes I agree! We had success with green beans, sugar baby watermelons, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots & lettuce. Not so much with onions, scallions, broccoli & corn. But it was the first year. Building up the soil is a science I have yet to learn. Lack of rain this year made it a challenge also. Best to you and yours. Here's to next year!!🤗🙏💗
