    Very thoughtful advice for prospective applicants! I will definitely be doing research on ARC-PA scheduled review visits between interview dates and potential start dates.

    Can you do a video to explain the "Provisional" accreditation such as for UC San Diego?

      You got it friend! I’m writing the script for this video today and plan to post it this Saturday! Make sure you turn on the “notification bell” to be reminded later this week. :)

    CSUMB is the only program in our try county, I live down in the Salinas valley (greenfield) and was bummed when I didn't get accepted into the program but in hindsight seems like it was for a reason. I did notice a few things about the program over the years, the price kept going up. For a program that was that new and unable to get out of the probation phase to be charging 130,000 total tuition and it on the verge of being close to 150,000 starting in a few months, I would expect it to be more affordable. I feel for all those students stuck halfway through their education and I hope the PAEA/ ARC-PA steps in to find these students admissions at other programs. I also hope CSUMB is able to get the program organized so that we can hopefully retain PA's to stay and work in our much needed rural communities around the tri county.

      Hermano, thank you for watching and your comment. I completely agree with you! The tuition for PA programs everywhere continues to rise year after year, meanwhile the educational quality, number of faculty, resources offered stay the same. We definitely need more programs in medically understaffed & underserved areas - but those programs should still be affordable! I imagine CSUMB's program will be reinstated in the future - time will tell if they resolve the issues that got them here in the first place. Saludos! 👨🏻‍⚕️🇲🇽

    Thanks for this. It is super helpful.
    I recently got into a program that is on probation and I also heard about the "matriculation guarantee" while reading some articles. Seems like that really is not the case. It definitely makes you think twice before accepting an offer from a program that is not fully accredited.

    Wow that’s tough. So this one is shutting down and making the competition increase for us in CA. I noticed a list of “new” programs in the US, but some of them are existing now so the list may be older. I will do my research. Gracias

      @@jaylenjackson69 Thank you kindly for the info. At the age of 57 and a seasoned dental hygienist of 30 years, I have seen it all. I will try to apply for the National Health Service Corps Scholarship opportunity and put my footwork in. I’ve already said to myself that I need to attend a school near my family. If I don’t get I to those programs, I will be ok and go to Plan B: apply again and see what it is other than my age which holds me back from being accepted as I truly consider myself a go-getter. It’s an open road, yet their are certainly big obstacles. Nothing I can’t handle amigo. Thanks for the encouragement and words!

      @@estelavictoria-cordero2418 if you are looking for scholarships, look into the HCAI if you are from Cali. I received a 25k scholarship and applied again this year. One year commitment per contract and its not restricted to primary care like other scholarships. They also they a loan repayment program but haven't looked too much into those details yet since I'm still in school. Going to hopeful utilize the two scholarships, put in two years and then look into the loan repayment program.

      Hi Estela! Thank you for watching and the comment. I plan to record a video this week talking about new programs who have an "accreditation-provisional" status, what it means, and offer some advice on what to look out for!
      But do not be discouraged amiga! There are still 270+ programs around the country that are on a non-probationary accreditiation! And I have no doubts that you will have the experience hours and application to get accepted to a fully accredited program worthy of having a student like yourself. Saludos 👨🏻‍⚕️🇲🇽

    I got accepted to CSUMB's PA program for c/o 2026, but decided to chance it at a provisionally accredited program as the inaugural cohort instead. Glad I did!

    Thank you for this super helpful video! I checked on the ARC-PA website for AT Still central coast program, it says TBD for the next review date. I have an interview coming up soon, would you still consider doing it?

    • @themexicanpa
      @themexicanpa  10 месяцев назад +1

      Most definitely still do the interview! If anything for the practice. If you gain admission, I would advise getting in touch with current students/graduates of the program to gain some insight on the program leadership and make an informed decision to attend or not!

    Western U has now been allowed by ARC-PA to seat a class for the upcoming school year. This must mean that the reviews they had have been successful? They have another site review in March 2025. What do you think about this? 4:55

    I read that the loss of accreditation was over paperwork issues and deficiencies in teaching safety measures. the school didn't even appeal or try to clean it up.they just allowed the loss of accreditation. I suspect there was something more going on in that school on the administrative side.
    The program had a high pass rate on certifying exams for students. Very odd that they allowed the loss of accreditation.

    What does it mean if a program has Probation F** next to it. Also how long can a program stay under that specific probation because it’s been a while and it’s still there.

    My programs on probation and it’s probably the biggest mistake of my whole life I think they’ll shut down soon too

    • @themexicanpa
      @themexicanpa  Год назад +1

      I’ll be praying that doesn’t happen! Most PA programs on probation usually rectify there issues and get off probation. This video just highlights the very real risk to students when a program fails to comply with the ARC-PA standards. This doesn’t mean this will happen to your specific school.
      How far into the PA program are you?
