yup this was great to watch. the new angles really give you a lot of perspective you dont get when PLAYING the game. and as mono said , its amazing to be able to see your mistakes and bad strategies playing out. I always knew waiting for the garry at the begining rather than running was faster for the team and gave an advantage but I didnt realise it was that HUGE an advantage! love this content more please!
Absolutely fascinating, love this format! How cool would it be to get the two commanders on after the match to get their insights on strategy and what they would do differently after seeing your video! Keep doing these types of videos, awesome stuff!
Great job on the commentary. In terms of the admin cam, I prefer the stationary (or slow moving) & high angle shots. And I wouldn't mind 10s of commentary based on the 2D map, mixed in occasionally.
Mono love your videos as always. Great coverage. Love HLL and was great to see it from the admin cam. I think some suggestions that you could make to the devs would be numpad(or other keys) assignable fixed admin camera "views" you could set once the map starts. And reset as the action shifts away. Also split screen with map on one side and admin cam on the other. My final suggestion would be twin admin cams(doable with OBS magic) something like this: ruclips.net/video/93MBkZoipVE/видео.html
Honestly, I'm having more fun shoutcasting on some of the battles than actually being in them. I'm glad the viewers are enjoying it as much as Mono and I enjoyed presenting it.
100% true. Both competitive and public matches really come down to who does the basics the best. 1) Are you keeping your spawn options (garrisons, OP's, Airheads, etc.) active and in locations to react quickly to enemy adjustments. 2) Are you maintaining map control of the active sector? 3) Are you winning the 1 vs 1 engagements? It's easy to say, but harder to do. This is where experience is needed.
The last 10 years of living in the Southern United States has really taken a hold of me. I swear it's something in this Bojangles sweet tea, bless their heart.
Have confidence in OC for next match. Idk if I'll be able to attend, but hopefully i'll be on the battlefield! Also looking forward to your guys coverage of next weeks match!
You have the same problems to take in town outskirts from the German side as in public as well as competitively. It would be helpful to place a couple of wrecks and bomb craters south and east to make the advance easier
Can’t wait for this to come to PS5 The more I see of this game the more hyped I am. I would love to see a third person view and destruction on map would be really good
A little explanation to "Stoßtrupp Donnerbalken": "Stoßtrupp" is the term for a squad that pushes into enemy territory as the first. "Donnerbalken" is harder to explain. You put a (wooden) beam, or e.g. tree trunk ("balken") horizontally, so ou can sit on it with your ass hanging over and that's used for taking a shit ("Donner" = thunder, i believe it has the word origin by something like farting while taking a shit). That term is also used by the military and it's basically a provisionally self-built outdoor-toilet. By the way, i like that way of showing a match. Much better then seeing it just from one players perspective.
Nice one. I'm finding the admin camera a bit disorienting. Shame the feature is not more fleshed out, maybe with a map overlay in a corner or something.
Yeah, that's something we want to do but it's requires having a soldier go afk and keep his map up the entire time. Would also only show one team unless done on both sides and then spliced in some way
I wonder if matches presented this way would get more people into HLL. If so, the HLL team would do well to develop a presenter mode. It would be good to have the ability to place cameras that the presenter could immediately jump to, some bits of action were missed because of how quickly they happened. Another thing would be a special graphics setting, with shadows drawn at much longer distances, but in less detail, since the camera spends so much time high up. I have a suggestion for commenting. I understand that as a commentator, you guys want to acknowledge the clans in the game rather than simply refer the sides as simply "Allies" and "Axis." Bastardos was easily pronounceable, but StDb/Pi doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, and was mispronounced quite a few times. Perhaps it would have be good to give them a nickname, like "Stoß and Pi".
Why would you use a supply truck or supply drops for forward garrisons in enemy territory? You are likely to get spotted. Sneak in a SL on foot, put down an outposts and rotate two players as support in your squad to get that 100 supplies. Far more sneaky.
It can be faster to use a supply truck, and also, garrisons on enemy territory don't really work unless you control the area around them. If you need to be sneaky, then that probably means you're trying to build the garrison before controlling the area and not the other way around.
It was said in a tongue in cheek intent. In the pre-show conversations Mono and I had a good amount of laughs about different English speaking cultures having different words for the same item/event. In English culture a "torch" and "holiday" would translate to a "flashlight" and "vacation" in American culture. Is it a trash can or a bin? Is it an eraser or a rubber? Those types of fun little differences.
@@wardenstone6021 there isn’t a single “American dialect”. There is the English language and the hundreds of dialects of English that exist within the United States.

@@wardenstone6021 you don't speak "American". Spelling applies to words and rarely pronunciation, with few exceptions (aluminium, aluminum for ex). Do Canadians speak Canadian? Australians speak Australian? It's ENGLISH.

I get what he meant. I am Argentinian. Argentinian Spanish is VERY different from Spanish Spanish or Chilean Spanish, which is also quite different. We all understand each other but we use lots of different words for lots of different things. When someone asks me what language I speak I always try and clarify this because even though they are all Spanish, they have a significantly different use of words and pronounciations. We were talking about this before going live which is why he referred to it on the stream.
It was a pleasure to co-host this with and I'm looking forward to the next one.
Watching a match of HLL from this view is awesome. I’d totally watch more of those.
Good to know. More to come!

The admin camera and a good and alive narration of the match gives another vibe; makes it even better, the hour felt like 20mins.
Love the game already in early stages, nice upload, appreciate it 👍🏼
Love this perspective on a match
We'll try to be a bit better in terms of camera speed and angles next time!

Is there any way to view map in spectator view, not during game but generally to get better map awareness?
You need to have the camera permissions granted to you by the server admin, so no.
is there a homepage for the tournament?
The Tournement is going via discord of the 116.
