- We left Yellowknife for Edmonton on the 2nd of May and returned on the 6th July, No sign of Raymond, but on the 20th of July a Raven started to squawk at me on our roof, I held a piece of bread in my hand and he came to the balcony and proceeded to eat it!!!!! Merlyn...

Corvidae (ravens, crows, etc) can recognize individual faces and will remember faces of the people who were nice to them (and, also, mean to them). I love how this one seems to instantly recognize him and just hops right on over. 😊

A guy was walking one day and a something kept falling on his shoulder. He'd look around no one around but a bag of chips on the ground. After the third time he realized the bag was following him. That's when he looked up and this Raven was looking down at him from a boardwalk canopy, hopping along. It was picking the bag up again and again, dropping it on him, then flying back up... He ignored. Kept walking. This bird picked up the bag again and dropped it on his head one final time and just looked at him. That's when the guy realized... The bird wanted him to open the damn thing. He did and set it down. The Raven hopped over, picked up the bag and flew back to the cafe awning down aways again.

Oh, no don't give him white bread. Birds are so sensitive and cannot stand chemicals or poisons and white bread is not good for them. Get some walnuts, peanuts and sunflower seeds and some sour dough bread made with old fahsioned grains. He put his feathers out on the head, that means he is happy and he likes how you talk to him with love like that. He is SO wonderful. Do you think this was not Raymond but another one?
Sisi lol chemicals and poisons. water is a chemical compound as is oxygen. tf and crows/ravens have no issues digesting white bread... just as they have no issues digesting rancid meat riddled with bacteria.
Sisi the main problem with white bread is that it has next to no nutritional value for the birds
I think it is unhealthy for them; gets stuck in the stomach. I give my birds walnuts that I buy cheaply from one who has a huge walnut tree.
These birds eat rotting roadkill. I don’t think some white bread will hurt them.
Eliza Bear have you read the ingredients of the average grocery store white bread? there are chemicals in our (USA) bread that are *banned* from other countries because it's even harmful to humans
