    KP Pigments & Eye Cany Pigments stood out the most to me. They all looked really good, but the more i watch & rewind to take all 4 sections in, KP & Eye Candy just keep jumping out at me. Thanks a lot for this video! I know that it's very time-consuming, but i hope that it pays off because i enjoy the effort you put on. Thanks again!

    I'm glad you did this video. I think they all have their place in this arena. Truth be told i think personal preference will be the deciding factor but it made a video like this very necessary. Great job. Also, it's super classy that eye candies owners commented with humility and graciousness. Really awesome of them. Rolio kinda surprised me in a good way. That being said they have their place and is love to see more videos with their products. Eye candy, you guys are outstanding. I'd love to hear from a KP rep but tool then, keep up the good work

    I'm glad someone forwarded me a link to this video. I really enjoy watching videos like this just for the information alone. Good pigments and companies all around regardless who is chosen by others. We've personally known the owners of Rolio and KP for a long time. Great people and products. Actually, when we first opened Eye Candy in Japan about 7-8 years ago as a custom paint shop, we used KP for a bit. Keep doing what you're doing. Thumbs up.

    I would be interested in a UV test. What about spraying each one, similar color, same clear coats, then leave them in the sun for an extended period of time. Which pigment will bleach out first?

    • @EyeCandyPigments
      @EyeCandyPigments День назад +2

      Thank you for your interest in conducting a UV test with our pigments! Spraying similar colors with identical clear coats and leaving them in the sun is an effective way to gauge UV resistance and see how quickly each pigment might fade. Keep in mind that different pigment types, such as organic vs. inorganic, have varying UV resistance due to their chemical structures. Generally, inorganic pigments like oxides tend to have better UV resistance than organic pigments, but the results can vary depending on the product formulation and environment.
      For optimal comparison, ensure each sample is exposed to the same conditions and for an extended period (several weeks or months, if possible). Testing periodically will help track the fade rate over time, giving a clear idea of each pigment’s durability in sunlight.

    The only real difference I think I can see is that the Chromax might have a finer flake size, as it doesn't have as much sparkle as the two on the right did.
    They all look good though.
    Thanks for the inspiration to try spraying pearls.
    I bought some Rolia scarlet red to play with, intending to try a medium density spray over gunmetal grey or black on my multicolored utility pickup.

    Wow, I guess the winner is me. I really like this series. I'm building a '68 RR and it is QQ1 blue and these colors are close. I'm guessing if sprayed over a dark blue rather than black most any of them would be near there. I also like that you were able to brint the Cromax and include it. It is really hard to find any info on how metallics are made at the paint store without spending a couple hundred on colors your not sure are going to match close enough. I also own a 1990 Dodge D150 that is currently Metallic Sand(a tan gold) and a dark brown I don't like. I've seen a '86 that has the gold sand with a light tan on the sides in place of the dark brown an it looks real good. I think I can get close on these mixing Rustoeleums together to tone.
    One other thing I wanted to ask about is adding Flex to Rustoleum. I'm currently working on a '84 Mustang SVO - Black. I want to use the Rustoleum Top Side Black and then 2k over it. The bumpers are both rubber and I would like to use the same paint on those but I don't know how the flex additive will work with the Rustoleum. Also thinking I paint the bumpers 1st and if the body is a shade off I can then just add some flex to that paint and use flex on the whole car. I can't see where it would hurt anything just add a few dollars. This is not my idea, I know a guy that build wrecked Corvettes back in the 70s-80s and this is what he did to ensure a color match with the bumpers.
    Thanks John, great video.

      Adding the flex additive to Rustoleum shouldn't be a big deal I've never really had many issues with painting over flexible items like plastics I usually as you've probably seen use bulldog adhesion promoter and stuff tends to work pretty good thanks for watching

    Questions from a non painter: Wouldn't the overspray affect the other areas? There would be 4 batches of overspray contaminating each other. Overall the results are great.

      In this particular situation I dialed the gun back so the spray pattern wouldn't be overlapping onto the other panels I position the hood right by my fan so it's pulling the fumes as soon as it's sprayed really the best you can do in a mass spray out like this but the colors are true to what they are thanks for watching
