Good Video. I noticed that the jack was sinking into the ground and tipping a bit while lifting the car. You might want to look at SAFE JACK videos to see some simple accessories that will make jacking or lifting a car much SAFER.
This guy owns SAFE JACK he is masking his sales pitch with "helpful advice" I made a plate to do the same thing as his stabilizer for 10 bucks just weld a plate to the bottom of your bottle jack took me 5 minutes and the thing will lift a bus in sand literally
To me, a bottle jack is for side of the road emergencies otherwise use a floor jack. But if you've gone to the trouble to think far enough ahead to have one of these instead of relying on a stupid sissor jack included with your vehicle, then pack the propeer support dunnage as well. A few pieces of 2 x12 is all you need.
I know the ground is not solid enough, but when trouble comes and you have to replace a tire than you might not have the option to choose a concrete ground.
My Story : I drive i20 elite. Once it had flat tire due to faulty valve, so I had to change tire to Stepney. I applied hand break and put car in 1st gear. I used OEM scissor jack, to lift the tire. but tire was not getting out. My bad, I thought, tire is stuck due to hand break and gear. Huge mistake, that i released hand break and gear, in jacked up position. Full blunder due to ignorance. As other 3 tire moved a bit, jack come down and crashed, got bent from all patti sides.. I had to throw away that OEM jack. Then I took help of some cab driver guy. Thanks to him. He lend me his jack. Then I bought hydraulic jack 3 ton from Flipkart. I tested it, like on most RUclips videos. It works fine when none of the tire is flat. I can lift car easily, and change tire. But who will replace tire, when all 4 are good. After few months, got a punctured tire. On flat tire, car comes down. In this less height, I put 3 ton hydraulic jack, lifted car, but it didn't lift upto proper height, so that tire can be removed. Tire was still stucked. I had to call puncnture wala guy. If I buy 5 ton jack, it won't even fit below under a flat tire. 3 ton was my best bet. Moral of the story : 1. Always apply hand break and gear, stopper stone under diagonally opposite tire of flat tire before jacking up and whole time till the jack is removed. Car must not move even 1mm when it's jacked up. 2. Always prefer company fitted accessories over after market. OEM jack was good, I didn't used it safely. 3. Never buy small hydraulic jacks, just to save 10 min efforts, that too very very rarely. Don't take risk on road specially on long journeys. As these jacks have not been tested by company in all possible test case conditions. Stay safe, Be happy.
I can't believe this guy jacks his car up on soft ground! He's lucky: the vehicle didn't move ;the jack didn't sink into the ground unexpectedly. The way he demonstrates the jack's usage is absolutely unsafe! Crazy!
At around 4:20 it wasn't fully rotated to the left, but even than it would not go down by itself, it was too new at that time, it's not going down by itself now either.

@@furulevi You either tow it or drive a bit further towards the road. It's extremely dangerous and can damage both you and the car if you change your tires on soft grounds.
Just add a wider metal element between the jack and the wood and the wood should not split. That's why the jack's base is also larger to limit the jack from entering into the ground too much.
Just make sure the car won't move while you are under it. Pull the handbrake (to brake the rear wheel), and put the car into gear (to brake the front wheel), or place some objects (rock) before and after a wheel so it won't move. Raise the vehicle just as much so you can fit under it (10-20cm / 4-8inch). You can also place a spare tire (or an axle stand, bricks, wooden blocks) under the car, just in case the car falls off the jack.
Just bought a Hydraulic Jack. Had no clue how to use it. Thanks for uploading the video. Very helpful. :)
Nicely explained! Forgot one important rule. Keep the jack on a firm and stable ground ( it can be on a plank also.
if there is any firm and stable ground available...
Cant believe he did that on soft grass.....he playing with death
Thanks a lot man. This really helped me and my father.

wow, 250k views!! your lifting has gone viral!! :)
One obvious thing you forgot is make sure your on cement... The car almost moved off the jack and on you
samuel naranjo Cement would be nice, but if the car's wheel is damaged while being off road than there is no other solution...

wow... that's even more challenging
+furulevi Toss some wood under there then

Thnx..bought it recently.... video helped a lot...as I couldn't make it out through the meanual
Phenomenal editing.. great video
You can use a bottle jack axle lifting saddle to lift the vehicle from a solid axle as well.
shouldnt this be how NOT to lift a car with a hydraulic jack?
I know the ground is not solid enough, but when trouble comes and you have to replace a tire than you might not have the option to choose a concrete ground.
Thanks man this really helped me today

Very good video man, thank you
THANK YOU DAD!!!
Pressing down the bottle jack with my hand to lower it down. Wasnt what i was expecting to do. I was like its going to lower down slow by itself.
At around 4:20 it wasn't fully rotated to the left, but even than it would not go down by itself, it was too new at that time, it's not going down by itself now either.
Thanks friend
Thanks, what's the red button/cap ?
I think that would be the oil filler port...
Thanks. @@furulevi

Thanks for the video.
Good vid. Very helpful.. Thanks mate.
WONDERFUL VIDEO THANKS FOR HELP!
very informative video.
Thank you broi
Like this any hydraulic jack to lift upto to 5 feet
5 feet? 1.5 meters? This is a small jack...
Thank u
You are always supposed to lift your car on a hard flat surface. This is not the correct way of doing it.
That's the theory, what if your tire goes flat when you're in the middle of nowhere...
@@furulevi You either tow it or drive a bit further towards the road. It's extremely dangerous and can damage both you and the car if you change your tires on soft grounds.
There are no asphalt roads everywhere in nature, nor mobile phone signal in the woods.
Thank you
be VERY careful. without a hard ground surface this could topple over.
You're right, but if something unwanted happens and hard ground is far away, than you must raise your vehicle somehow...
I would not even think of using this
why?
what if that wood cracked?
Just add a wider metal element between the jack and the wood and the wood should not split. That's why the jack's base is also larger to limit the jack from entering into the ground too much.
Lol I cam here because of my physics class
how much does it cost? where can I buy it?
for example search on www.ebay.com for "Hydraulic Jack 2t" (2t = 2 tons)
decent one under 50 bucks and places like tractor supply or some auto parts store
Always do this on a solid floor! Or the vehicle will drop on you!
Theoretically that should be nice, but what if you have to replace a tire while you're in a forest after a rain?
what's the optimized height if I want to work under the car? Say I want to change transmission fluid.
Just make sure the car won't move while you are under it. Pull the handbrake (to brake the rear wheel), and put the car into gear (to brake the front wheel), or place some objects (rock) before and after a wheel so it won't move. Don't work under a jack. Please use stands after jacking the car up, it may fall and kill you otherwise.
How much jocky
Small hydraulic jacks (non - trolley types) won't work under flat tire.
Burn your money elsewhere, but
NEVER BUY them for flat tire repair.
In this case it worked...
no support for the jack. should do on a flat hard surface.
Trouble doesn't come only on a flat hard surface...
Thanks :)
how to setup it...cause i have brought a new one ..so no idea how to setup...
try to do what is shown in this video...
