The hardest part is getting the assembly to slide back and loose. Nothing to grab. I solved it with a couple of strips of duct tape, taped to the lens on the side, and leaving a tail to pull with. Worked like a charm and peeled off clean.
My 2015 just had two Philips head screws holding the light assembly on. They were on the light itself and not behind a panel. Otherwise very similar. Appreciate the video.
Thanks for posting this. No quite the same for 2015. _But_ it did point me in the right direction. Two screws on the outside. Step-Daughter was leaving after coming to visit and I did my usual Ol'-Goat walk around and both brake lights were out. Good thing they were accessible from the outside for the inside was packed with baby stuff. Cheesy ground in the lamp socket, that's for sure.
Mine has a third bolt under that black wire cutout. I see the space for it in your video, but you do not have a bolt there. I can't get to it. Am i not going to be able to remove the light?
Thanks! It worked for me too, except banging on the forward end of the tail light assembly did not dislodge the pins. I had to get a screw driver behind the assemble at the rear and really pry it open. I thought it was going to break the lens or the assembly but it didn't. Since I was already back there I replaced both brake light bulbs on both sides. The second one didn't take long at all.
Very informative, thank you. I think the Koreans want you to spend $ at the dealership if ever a bulb burns out, too much work just to change a bulb(s).
LOL not just korea, OMG my poor son has a 2008 prius, he knows how to change his light bulbs now but what a pain!! These actually seem much easier. Doesn't matter what brand of these days, none of them are easy in my opinion.
NOT the same for a 2015. No need to go through any interior side pocket. Just undo the two screws beside the assembly, then pull the assembly back towards you to pop it out of the two register plugs. Brake light is the one with green and red wire.
Hey joe I’m trying to change the driver brake light fuse I changed the lights but they only work once I press the brake so at night I’m screwed. Do have an idea why this
I have a 2017 Kia Sorento ex and I’m having a brake light problem, top led light works but Left and right lights do not. Could a be a wire, fuse connector issue? Haven’t taken it apart yet before what to look for first. Any help would be great. Thank you
Okay, I'll admit, I was a little hesitant to use a video by a guy calling himself "Beermaster," but I managed to fix it with your help (and my sister's, because she's stronger than me LOL), so hey, thanks. I'd like and subscribe to help your algorithm, but then RUclips would recommend more car videos, and it's... really not a topic I'm into LOL. I just needed to figure out how to fix this before I drive my sis to work tomorrow, because driving on the freeway with a missing turn signal just didn't sound fun at all.
Changed my tail light today thank you for the very informative video helped me a lot 😊
Thank you! I replaced both under 10 min for my 2016! Great Sunday morning project!

Joe - appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge, which is helpful.
Thank you! It took me 3 minutes to change bulbs.
Thanks for the help and in the future clean out the work area so that the background noise is not going to drive someone crazy
I was going to say the same thing. Great instructions but take the junk out of the trunk to reduce audio noise!

Just the video I needed to see, thank you!
Thanks for the video! I was going to take it to jiffy lube or something, but my lazy ass doesn’t want to go anywhere. Now I don’t have to. 👍🏼

Did you get it fixed? Was it the bulbs? I have the same year.
@@kbanghart it was just the bulb thankfully
@@TheZooyork17 nice, about to change mine as well. Couldn't find one in my local autozone, so had to order online, of course.
Great video! I really appreciate it.

I can't wait to hear more about your adventures, when pray tell will you regale us with more nail-biting excitement?
Unfortunately O'Reilly sold me the wrong replacement bulb for my 2017 Kia. And the manual is certainly no help for a part number
How do change on hatch back not fender
Muchas gracias, desde México
Thanks for posting
Thank you so much brother.
Very helpful. Thank you
Thanks. Easy after you know how.
2357 LL is what i saw on that bulb 10mm is the socket
My right side doesn't have the small spot to go inside. Do I have to take the entire panel down?
didn't show how to remove the most difficult bulb... the blinker 💀
Thank you for the video. But help.
Thank you sir
Thank you!
PUSH THE LIGHT BULB INWARD TO REMOVE THE ACTUAL LIGHT BULB 💡
Thanks!
Never said which bulb is which… kinda important, don’t ya think?
Good video thanks
Buddy using a harbor freight screwdriver.
Doesn't have to be expensive to get the job done.
I swear these lights are held on by Hulk himself. Shit
The cutouts are not on the 2015. Your information is incorrect.
Thanks
Welcome
Y the. Water. Go in the light bowl
Dude, you need to work on the quality of your video. It was out of focus and the back and forth motion was triggering my motion sickness.
came here hoping to find the bulb number
Maybe next time take the groceries out first before starting changing the bulb
