A bit late to the party...but Drew Zingg is by far the best kept secret in the guitar community. And this under the radar recording is a testament to his remarkable playing. Thank You Mr Ringo for sharing this with the world. The dynamic / organic tone, feel, unpredictability and vocabulary is unmatched. Todays guitar shredders can only marvel at his playing. I still dont understand why He did not establish himself as the Steely Dan guitarist after the 93-94 tours...this is steely dans loss in my book.
I worked with Buzz Feiten on a few projects. I designed them just to get him to solo. Check out the book/CD Blues by the Bar. I had Buzz take several blues solos starting out simple and getting more complex as he went along. If you are a BF fan you'll find some sweet soloing not heard on any record.
Woaw! This man is super good! .... deserves to be among the great contemporary guitarists of today! His phrasing and his sound are those I like! Txs for having posted this performance. Greatings from...and welcome to Paris!
I read an interview of Drew's some years ago where he noted Buzz Feiten as an important influence. I admit that when I first heard Pretzel Logic on Donald Fagan's New York Rock and Soul Review I got very excited because I thought Buzz was playing with Steely Dan! Drew does have his own musical "voice" and he quickly became one of my favorite guitarists.
@@johnstix7874 Thanks, John. I actually own that DVD, and it's a wonderful concert. I've also been fortunate enough to see Drew playing with Boz and Michael McDonald. It was really one of my all-time favorite concerts.
Thanks for sharing! Instrumental song starting at 35:10 is by Yellowjackets and it has been called "While You're Away" and later when released "Pass It On".
@@livemusicssessionsnyc2393 Awesome work on the recordings! I'm a huge fan of Drew's playing. I know this is probably a long shot since it was so long ago, but have you transferred everything to digital so the multitracks are available? It would be quite a thing to be able to mix this nowadays!

BUZZ IS AWESOME I THINK DREW IS HIP TO HIM!!!!!
Incredible player . One of the best in my book... the world should be hearing more of him .
I took that picture of Drew at Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas in 2006 at a Donald Fagen concert. I sent it to him on Facebook.
Love that pic too...
Good live.guitar playing ! Good band. Thanks for sharing !
Monmouth College Fight Song! I loved when Robben Ford used to play like this. So glad there's Drew to pick up where Robben left to play the blues.
In my top 5 favorite..and frankly, greatest guitarists ever!

really tight band, just love me some Drew ................ thanks Ringo
I agree, he's awesome! Even the sax reminds me of Boston.
His licks remind me of when my dad was teaching at Berklee. Sounds like conservatory jazz to me.
The 2nd song is a tune that the band Full Moon used to play live. My copy has Dave Sanborn sitting in.

@@brettgroh1112 Check out the Live Boz Scaggs CD or DVD and you'll find some additional tasty DZ. Well worth your listen.

Yes, Le Bar Bat. I think this band only did two gigs... ever.
Treading iñ srv and of course the great Jimi
Done very well sir
And I think the instrumental starting at 55:38 is "Rush Hour", also by Yellowjackets
Thank you, sir!

Is Drew touring with anyone at this time? Would love to see him live.
I'm guessing there's no chance of getting a copy of these Drew gig recordings, apart from listening on RUclips....?
@@livemusicssessionsnyc2393 thanks very much. Yes, you’re right, with YT Premium looks like I can download. Great!

Nice! - who’s on keys?
Drew's a great player with great tone.. What rig is he using.. You know Amps , pedals etc ?
This is Le Bar Bat...Not Tramps
I thought so...I believe it's Pete Fogel introducing the band...sure sounds like him...
@@harrisknight1347 That's definitely Pete
Yes Le Bar Bat, I should know, I did this live soundboard recording and yes Pete did that intro presentation (JC - Sound Guy)
Who is on keyboard?
To my recollection it was Rob Aries (from Average White Band)
