AutoCAD: How to Create your own Tool Palettes Quickly - 2 Minute Tuesday
Hey Everybody,
Brandon here back with another new 2 minute tuesday! I wasn't even close to 2 minutes on this one but hopefully you all forgive me since its a cool topic
Anyways, I'm excited to show you all how to create your own custom tool palettes in autocad. In the video I go over the super easy way to add custom items and how to tweak them once they've been added to your palette.
Using this trick will save you a ton of time when your drafting and will hopefully open you up to the world of customizing and tweaking autocad to work better for your specific use.
Don't forget to let me know what autocad tip, trick or tutorial you'd like to see in the next one!
Cheers and thanks for watching

Still watching your content bro! Keep up the good work, you are really helpful.
Super easy after you explained it, thanks!!!
Very cool Brandon, I did not know about custom tool pallets. Thanks for the tip.
Hi Brandon,
Can you help me? I am currently unable to drag blocks into my palette.I don't know why.
Took me to long to find this video. Thank you for making this.
Hah, glad you found it eventually!
Thanks for watching, cheers!
Thank you for your great tip, but it didn't save it. So when I insert the newly made block in an other drawing it's gone
thanks, it was simple and easy.
Very useful tips thanks alot
Thanks Brandon for this tutorial. I've already applied what I learned from you today. Request. I work in AutoCAD Architecture 2014, I'd like to learn how to take a plan view of a typical house and create the various elevation views to ultimately have my viewports showing the plan view in one viewport, a south elevation in another viewport etc. etc. Can you help with that?
Nice job
Hello Brandon, I know that this video is a bit old so I hope you see this. Any idea on how to share a tool palette with other people? For example, can I "export" a tool palette after making it to a network location that can link to an ACAD profile perhaps? I know it can be done but I cant for the life of me figure it out. Thanks!
Where were you all my life 😄 You have great tips on your channel 👍
Hah been hanging out on here I guess. Glad I could help!
Thanks for watching

Thank u! Great Videos!!
Great video, I will create a new one
glad you liked it! Hope the new palettes will make things easy and more productive for you!
It is a very useful video I have autocad 2016 too. I want to make my pallete just like you but with contactor . But I do it !! It tells me something wrong ! Or and the stop icon shows up !! And I don't know how to put it in the pallete
Clicking on "new palette" just creates a new tab in an already existing palette. How do I create my own palette without adding to an already-existing one?
Hey Brandon,
I work with C3D 2022. Is there a way to make the text you save in the tool palette to Annotate to whatever scale you are working at the time?
Hi Brandon, This looks like it could be a useful tool, however I tried using it by copying a room title text from an existing drawing into the tool pallete just as you did, this worked fine. But when I then tried to use it in the same drawing by clicking on the button, it brought in Mtext as expected but the text height had changed from 125mm high to 100mm high so it did not keep the same characteristics.
Can you perhaps respond on this please ?
Nice well done
very good
Can i get this drawing sheet
My version of AutoCAD (AutoCADLT 2013) doesn't seem to have tool palletes at all? SO this video is unfortunately no use to me. Shame, as they look very useful....
Thank u! Great Videos!!
You're welcome!
I'm glad they help and thank you for watching!
