😜😜🤣
Yessssss
Today, I ordered your brushes. I fought with myself for a while, but your tutorials are so wonderful, and I can really feel how much you care that everyone has a great experience. I know you only would sell something that is good quality and make art a joy for everyone. I decided not to buy cotton paper as I know if the paper is too expensive, this will stop me from practising. I ordered Ohuhu paper instead as I saw some artists on RUclips have great results with it. Fingers crossed, I can work with it as well. Thank you for everything you do. You are changing people's lives. I seriously mean this. The way you teach is very inclusive, and I am sure it helps many with anxiety and depression.
Wow thank you so so much. If you have any questions or issues when the brushes arrive please get in touch. And sounds like a really good choice on the paper!
Thanks you Kristy love your enthusiasm. And so love your paints also, don't use them a lot as not a floral painter but they are fun to play with. Keep up the good work
You are so cool, warm, bright and with a neon personality! (if you get the references LOL) I'm a super newbie and at 76 there is nothing in me that has ever wanted to color mix....and my life is getting shorter sooo? However, what you have just done is genius.....it's just playing and produces colors some probably not yet invented....a possibility, what do I know anyway yet?! Thanks so much for this fun twist on the dreaded color mixing. Excuse me while I go play for a while😃
Welcome aboard! And thank you!!
Oh Kristy! I am SOOOO EXCITED! You have inspired me to get back into watercolor... and I just ordered your brushes, paint and collapsible painters pot... I can't wait to get the items. Especially the brushes because the brushes I have are janky!! YAY! I CAN'T WAIT!!💜
Wonderful!
Here for that stamp set!!! I love swatching 🤩 also…I’m new to watercolor and have learned so much from you. I love how free the way you work is 🥰
Awesome! Thank you!
Happy Galentines , Valentines , anytines…everyone ❤
Lol. Oh my goodness you’re hilarious. I love the wig lady. 😅
Thanks!!
Thank you. These circles make perfect sense for testing a limited pallet. Brilliant.
You are so welcome!
I wanna say thank you Kristy, I was too afraid to use fluorescents for a long, long time !! I was so focused on “fantasy perfection!” But they have taken my flowers and even my wildlife paintings to the next level. I used to live in Hawaii and I love painting all the beautiful fish 🐠, and honestly I just couldn’t figure out why the colors weren’t popping enough!! Thank you so much. ❤such a game changer!!
You are so welcome!
Looking good with the curly wig!
Ha thanks!!
I have come to the conclusion that Any ANY hairstyle suits you and you look gorgeous. Braids, curly short, pigtails, messy bun. So lucky! Oooh I want to see a polished Bob 1920s style now. Bet it will be 🔥.
Been loving all your uploads lately, knocking them out of the park.
I usually skip all videos on colour mixing because…well they are boring to me…same with swatching…but yours I will watch because you make it fun and proceed with gay abandon.
Oh gosh you’re so sweet! Thank you!!
I agree, your palette has been nothing but fun for me - as a long time watcher of your videos, I see how you've been using those colors long before you made your palette, so they ARE super convenient without being boring/classic, just as you intended, and these MIXES make this set literally all you need - you just grab the thing and start painting! How joyful is that?? Your effort in designing this set with us in mind is 100% seen and felt! ❤
Appreciate this sooooo much!!!
Love this so much. as a beginner I totally agree to the primary palette being a bit ho hum.. I’m patiently awaiting my paintcrush palette and brushes!! Should be here tomorrow 🎉🎉
Have fun!
The curly hair 😂😂. Kristy, you are a gem! ❤ PS - patiently waiting for the stamp set! 🥸
😜😜
🙏🙏 patiently, kinda, waiting for stamp set!!!
You are a fearless color mixer!! 🥰 That is so pretty!! 🌺
😊 thank you
@@KristyRice You're quite welcome!! 🌈😍
I loved this video, Kristy! Your unique approach to chill and stress-free mixing is just pure fun.
Yay, thank you!
Makes my day to watch your videos! Thank you
Happy to hear that!
I love putting the Paul ruebens flourescents on the side of any pallet and mixing them together and you can get the prettiest florals, Christmas light bulbs, and Sunshine. People are always saying that they look unrealistic and I completely disagree, I have taken blacklight flashlight outside and plants, flowers, bushes, even grass flouresce under the blacklight, so its my belief that nature is brighter than others think and flourescent colors make things even more realistic. The daniel smith manganese blue or the Mozart gansai tambi neon set has the blue that actually react to blacklight if thats something you'd want. And the daniel smith is actually lightfast for those who care about that.
I LOVE this!! Completely agree!!! XO
so yes!! i bought some flowers yesterday and was mesmerised at how neon bright they are! and there are also these flowering bushes locally fluorescent purple when the sun hits it! they’re magnificent!!
is it daniel smith magnese blue hue that reacts to black light?
Hi Kristy. Can you talk a little more about salt pigments. What they are & how to use them. Thanks
Sure thing!
Haha!!! Love it! I hate trying to figure out color mixing!
I don't have your pallette "yet" but I do have your brushes. I always grab them and a few of my other Prinston favs! But I have to say, I always end up painting something I am satisfied with after watching your videos!
You just make it easy and relaxing! ❤❤❤
Oh gosh thank you!!!
Hey Kristy! This may be for another lesson, but Watercolor Blending Medium, yes or no?!? Your take and/or tips & tricks for using or not?!? Thank you!
I’ve honestly never tried it but now I will!!!
I try to use as fewer colors as possible so I mix more than I am capable of, being a newbie. Some colors I like but can’t mix well I buy the tubes.
Good plan!
Idk if I’m in the minority but I love mixing my own colors. Especially when I mix the exact color I’m imagining in my head. I do a lot of tie dye and that’s the only downside of tie dye is that it’s not recommended to mix your own colors.
To be fair I have absolutely no formal training so the idea of mixing colors wasn’t really forced on to me.
The minute you said color mixing kinds of suck, I could not hit the like button fast enough. Now to watch the rest of the video....
Hahaha thanks!!!
I'm not gonna lie... maybe it's my phone but I don't see anything too life changing here. Probably much better in person though. I do think you should add a third overlapping circle for that third color though then you can have an extra space for the saturated mixture too. I do look forward to doing some color mixing on my own so I can see the colors for real, 'cuz I'm sure it's just the color on my device that is the problem.
Ahh, wig woman is hysterical! What a good laugh she is ❤️❤️
Ha I’m glad!!
loving your altered ego i like humor,,love to you
I’m having so much fun with her lol!
OMG!!! You said, "rinsing" and I just saw La Llorona!!!
This is fantastic, such a fascinating video ☺☺☺
Oh yay so glad!!
That is exactly how I eat my 🤎chocolates🤎....a bite here....a bite there...then I am most satisfied with my COLOR PALETTE....you are a fun excellent teacher! Thank you
😘😘😘
Omg did you say SWATCHING STAMPS?? 🤩I can't wait for those! (And also maybe more palette inserts?) Yesterday I was painting and trying to get exact colors, and I found myself getting frustrated. I took a breath and looked at the colors I had already mixed, and decided to just keep painting with what I made... And although the painting so far doesn't look how I originally imagined it would, the actual painting process - moving the brush, picking the next color, practicing lifting and linework - is SO much fun! I don't know where the time goes when I paint - but I look up at the clock and 2-3 hours have gone by! 🤣 Thank you so much for this beautiful video! The curly wig totally gave me Bob Ross vibes 😆
That loss of time is a beautiful thing!!
Kristy, you are such a treat to watch. Always teaching but in such a way makes us feel inspired. Can’t wait to get your stamps. I already have your paint and both sets of brushes and love them ❤ Happy Valentines Day 💕
Thank you so much!
You just need to know the basics of color theory.
Your colour tutorial ate always amazed us........❤❤❤❤🎉🎉
Thank you so much 😀
I don’t know many watercolor channels that have as much fun as you THANKS🥰😘♥️
Wow, thank you!
Okay, you make your paint "dance" across the page so effortlessly. I'm artistic, but move more like a water buffalo instead of you and your Gene Kelly fingers. Living vicariously through you!
This made me laugh in the best way possible!!
I didn't like to mix colors either until I got your palette. I was sort of angry with the palette at first because it forced me to mix colors together. Now I am not afraid of mixing colors anymore, and I do it way more often then I used to. My favorite mix of your palette colors are growth (olive green) and tend (emerald green/blue).
Love hearing this!!!
Hi! I wanted to ask : is there anywhere where you've listed which pigment is in each colour? I can see on your website that the palette box has the list on the side, but I was wondering if you've also got a listing for each colour?
I'm being a weirdo and actually keeping a spreadsheet of what paints I've got and which pigments each of them have so I would like to know this before I purchase yours too. Thank you
I haven’t revealed which pigments per color:)
Mixing colors is hard and adds some anxiety to playing with watercolors. I’m going to avoid mixing for now and focus on playing with colors and making shapes. Thank you for making this video.
You bet! Yes just keep chasing the joy!!
Really fun demonstration that you can use color theory with any selection, thanks! The course I took ages ago limited us to WN gouache in white, neutral black, cyan, primrose (yellow), and magenta. A printed color wheel is a good inexpensive tool; whatever is directly opposite your tone will mute it in various amounts for shadow, distance effects.
Now that limited palette sounds awesome!! Magenta and white!! Yes!!
Oh my goodness!!! Stamps!! I love stamps! When are they available???
April :)
No hate, only love on Happy Heart Day. Love watching you mix and experimenting with color. Guess what I'm ording today for ❤day. Yay!
Aww thanks!! 😘😘
Replay. When will your new box be available? I will be watching your email to see the release date.
April :)
Looked at the website... which one is the palette you are using? Beautiful
It’s my art for Joy’s sake palette with the peach poppies :)
Kristy the link says OOPS! for the pallete when I click on it.
All fixed!
Your wig reminded me of my 5th/6th grade art teacher!!!😂
😜
I have recently been attempting color mixing. It's fun to play with. Saving up to get your paints. These colors are gorgeous!!
Wonderful! And thanks!!
I enjoyed this video very much. I'm excited to try these mixes.
Have fun!
I can't wait for the swatching stamps to be available!
Me too!!
I was always taught to never use paint right out of the container 🙃
The tube or half pan?
Hahaha love the character.
I've been wanting stamps for swatching, but typically find them geared towards ink (pen shaped), so happy you put out a set.
Yay!!
I don't agree that color mixing is a MUST to make progress. I think mixing CAN be helpful, for example, when I first started watercolor I HAD to mix colors because I only had a few colors. But putting too much emphasis on color mixing can PROHIBIT growth, progress, creativity, amount of art created, etc!!!
When I started watercolors, I was already intuitive at mixing because I had art classes from 1st grade to 12th grade, but it was extremely tedious and repetitive to me. All of the color mixing I have done has given me a few obsessive qualities: I use mostly single pigment colors, I always feel I need to know the pigment in each color I have/use, temperature of colors is very important to me, I work hard to keep a balanced palette, I am obsessed with cleanliness of my palette to avoid mud, etc. These habits inhibited my growth/progression, creativity, and amount of art I made.
When my watercolor collection grew large enough where mixing wasn't an absolute necessity, I started to see more growth & progress, I felt more free creatively, and I started to create more art. I didn't have to sit down before each painting session and plan out what colors I would need and make sure to mix up enough of each color, I didn't have to worry about remembering how I mixed each color in case I ran out, etc.
The only time I mix is when I want to have cool granulating effects and original, wild, or really muted colors that I don't have. This type of mixing is enjoyable because it actually aids in my ability to express myself creatively.
I have been on the fence about Kristy's palette. The colors look awesome and they look really fun to paint with and to even mix with. The only issue I am having is knowing the pigment of each color in the palette. This is something that is very hard for me to get over, even though every video I see of people using this palette, they seem to be having an easy time mixing and don't seem to make mud. I want to try her palette so bad, but I am afraid I might not use it much because of my obsessive tendencies towards my paints and I just don't have the funds to purchase supplies I won't use more once or at all 😔. But her palette does look fun.
Kristy - if you ever consider adding to this, please consider adding a smaller version of the swatch stamp so you can add more to a sheet. 😊
Which one is the swatch stamp? Just making sure I get you!!
The one that is for individual swatching with the color, brand etc. I’d love to swatch all your paints on a single piece of watercolor paper for quick reference
Thanks! I needed this little bit of mixing courage! Going to try these mixed right now!
You will LOVE!!
So pretty ❤
Love it.
Color

Lovely moment lovely colours ❤

You're alter ego is a trip.

April!
Yes!!!
What is the pale pink brand/color please. Thanks
This is what I've been missing lately 🥺❤.
Well I’m glad you’re here!!
Lovely mixes and that’s how I call my colors lol I can never get them right but I do have favorites all the pastels. Thankyou. You are a breath of fresh air.😊
Thanks so much 😊
I feel like you were reading my mind when you designed these stamps! Can’t wait for them!
Awesome!!
nah, started in polymer clay. my color mixing is very intuitive. :)
Sounds awesome!
I am so so excited for those stamps
I want that stamp set bad.
Soon! Promise :)
@@KristyRice Lindsay did a nice review on them also.
Always so helpful and delightful 🎉
Awww thanks!!
Holy moly so cool!!!
Awesome to hear!
Thank you for this💗. What a great lesson on color!
You are so welcome!
Very exciting for this beginner! ❤
🙌🏻🙌🏻
I love mixing my own colors :)
Now I do too!!
Colour ❤
🥰💯😘
This is what I’ve been saying since I got your palette! It’s a split primary with attitude! ❤
I was JUST making a swatch table yesterday with it for funsies! So many delicious combos 😂
😘😘😘
Perfectly articulated. I wouldn’t have thought that till I watched this video. I am a beginner and scared of colour mixing and think it has to be cool primaries and warm primaries..blah blah..(makes me head spin). But this palette is a quirky, cigarette smoking flapper girl of primaries.❤️😛
@@marlbboro8091 😂 just get it and play! Ive got many palettes and this is my favorite one! Its the one that’s really opened up my world
