Typically no but most likely varies state to state. It is a rare occurrence but when it happens they do knock and explain and ask. If you say no, they will try to find an alternate vantage point.

@jillsy2815 wow. All that over somones 2nd amendment rights. That sounds like a very good reason to start reinstating felons civil rights afyer they serve their time. It shouldn't haunt them for the rest of their lives. A lot of people take their second amendment rights very seriously to the point of defending it with deadly force. I'm my opinion, it puts law enforcement at an even greater risk that they have to enforce these laws. Violent felonies are a different story, but still, it seems like this could have been completely avoided.
