Ship that struck Baltimore bridge moved from crash site

- The cargo ship that struck the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore nearly two months ago was moved from the crash site for the first time on Monday morning.
The Dali, a 984-foot container ship, had been partially blocking the entrance to one of America's busiest ports since the March 26 collision that triggered a catastrophic collapse of the 1.6-mile-long span and killed six workers.
The full channel is expected to reopen by the end of the month, according to officials.

And why they were not escorting that cargo ship out of the bay. That's the subject I want to hear about.
Real question is who let them run bunker within port which led to full loss of power

Is the economic cost , be it detained commerce and removing dammaged bridge, building a new, be covered by ship's owner/company?. Chineseis it?
@@yoga572 I haven't been following the story recently, but believe investigations & insurance discussions are happening. I also believe the new federal Infrastructure funds will be assisting with repairs.
I got chills seeing what was left of the bridge on that ship! R.I.P to those 6 workers!

@jackietreehorn Do yourself a favor and Google general averages in shipping....... It's been part of maritime law for hundreds of years. And this shipping company declared general averages in regards to this situation.

Question because I'm skeptical, but not invested enough to Google it. How does having a package on the boat make you 'parties involved'? Especially since you don't choose the ship... Wouldn't it be people directly responsible for the ship and the harbor?

@@runtosatan-nl1tethere are a ton of dock workers with little to do right now. They should spend that time searching each container in that port. It’s known to be a big one for shipping stolen cars overseas.

We welded up 12-in pipe offset 13 ft long took us all day the next day we went to install it was gone! Boss said come on we drove down to the scrap yard and there it was on top of the pile I happen to know one of the labors at the yard I said dude did you get a look at who dropped it off he said all I can tell you is and I didn't tell you this The truck said Algonquin gas on the side! Welcome to America welcome to reality!

It's going be estimated to be 1.9 billion usd just to rebuild the bridge and the owner of the ship doesn't want to pay

This was such an "Avoidable Accident." I hope the ships owner and not us taxpayers have to foot the bill for this disaster!
Millions of dollars of rotting cargo on that ship. That shipping company is taking devastating losses that will hurt their wallets for years to come. Moving that bridge was the hard part now comes the easy part...assessing all the lost and rotting freight still aboard they have to UNLOAD.

The company declared what's called general averages......so basically the cost is split between the cargo owners bypassing insurance 😮

The ships country should pay for bridge cargo ship was having trouble before they left and they left anyway they are liable for lives lost n bridge
Ships often fly under flags of convenience, like Panama or Liberia. I think that this has more to do with lax regulation in these countries than it does with the true base of the corporation actually running the shipping

You misspelled drove directictly into the bridge intentionally. You don't lose power then veer hard starboard. I've worked on the ocean my entire life this was 110% intentional.
