How to adjust generator AVR for proper voltage

- If your generator is not producing the proper voltage then adjust the AVR.
Remove the back cover, undo the AVR, start the engine and adjust it until it reaches the proper voltage.
Make sure the engine is running to the proper RPMs before adjusting. Хобби
Just what i needed the 8kw gen set have a new avr but only does 168v instead of 230/240v 😅
I set my to 120v under a load I use a table saw for the load. Xp13000 generator. 120 at idling no load but dropped to 117 v loaded. Utility voltage is 125.5 here in Tallahassee.
Thank you
Thank you for watching.
Can you send video of AVR how to replacement
Do you have a link to buy this. I'm currently have the same problem for my generator
Sorry I don’t have a link. There are many different types and the specs are all different. Look for the manufacturer and see if they can find you the original or a replacement.
Thank you! My generator is a pwh 10500 if this method does not work what AVR would you recommend that I buy?
I would suggest you get the exact one it calls for. Go to a dealer and give them the model #. Not just the watts.
Hie can I use any AVR to any 4 stroke generator ,do they have sizes
No you shouldn’t just use any. Some will not have enough power and some will have too much for the generator. You should use the correct one.
thanks, so when I'm buying it I had to tell them the size of a generator , my generator is 7.5 kva
Petrol
Give them the model number. That is the best way to get the exact part.
thank you very much
¿Cómo variar las rpm de un generador diésel?
Clockwise increases .. counterclockwise decreases.. right?
That is correct

Mine just suddenly stopped output power, no voltage on any terminals, the terminal to feed AVR has around 2V, checked the continuity of AVR output headers for the field reads 0 ohm or dead short, so it's faulty AVR?
I would rule out the stator, rotor and brushes first and if they work then it’s the AVR. I have videos on all three and how to diagnose them.
@@10minutefix May I know the Ohm of the winding that power the AVR? mine is 5kw 1ph generator. this gives me headache. Just changed the AVR, and the old AVR seems got internal short circuit, and I think it messes the aux winding that power the AVR.
I tested applying 24V to the brushes terminals, and there's power. The new AVR produce around 5V initially, but as it connected to the brushes terminal, it dropped below 1V, so I guess the AVR not getting enough power.
@@10minutefix NVM. I injected the rotor with 24v while the AVR is connected, and it probably charges the AVR, works like magic. Probably because i bought a cheap AVR.
Thankyou
Thanks for watching.
If you bump up the engine speed a little and get proper voltage should you adjust avr and bring speed back again or just keep speed a little higher. 1-2 full turns
You should adjust the engine rpm to its proper setting. It’s incorrect to adjust the rpm to get the voltage you want. Rpm first, then adjust the avr.
@@10minutefix I replaced my AVR just a few months ago. Last night was the first time I needed my generator during a storm. My generator only ran for an hour and stopped producing power again. I never adjusted anything on the AVR, I had just replaced it. Did that mess up my new AVR?
Did what mess up your AVR? Not adjusting it or did you adjust it?
@@10minutefix my generator produces power and gives light but can't power an underground pumping machine/sumo. It powers fridges, but the freezer can't freeze water and can't even chill properly. Looking at the stabilizer voltage, it gives proper voltage as it used to when it works perfectly. What do I do?
@@mcdonaldsokeke3439 was it working before or has it never been able to power those units? You need to know if it can supply the amps it needs. How many amps does the sump and fridge need and how many can your generator output. That’s the very first thing.
Is this AVR on the Powermate generator?
Honestly I don’t recall but any AVR will usually have an adjustment screw on it. Let me know if you have any questions. I am posting more videos on generators as well.

Thanks for watching.
Is that meaning decrease fuel consumption ? Or not .. pls. Answer 😊
It does not affect fuel consumption because this does not increase or decrease rpm.
@@10minutefix
Thanks 💐
Can this reduce the frequency?
No. The frequency is governed by the rpm’s of the engine. Higher rpm means higher frequency and vice versa. Make sure the engine runs at around 3400-3600 rpm’s.
Why are you dating?
Sorry but I don’t get the question?
