Steve Gibson is incredible. He is a true artist that has what we are all after as fellow artist - a style that identifies him in his work. When I see an artwork he’s done, I instantly know it’s his.
I would love to learn from him. Keep up the good work 🤙

I found myself starting in black and white and struggled, so I naturally made a neutral gray, that helped tremendously. Then I found Steve and found out he used 9 shades!! That has really opened up a lot of potential for me! Thanks Steve!! Awesome artist!

Thanks man, the idea of working off of that neutral ground has been around a long time. Look at oil painters instead of airbrush artists and how they apply a Grisaille underpainting. That’s the majority of where this airbrush technique comes from, the motive in this approach can vary depending on the “what” and “why” you are doing what you are doing.

Hey! Thanks man! Been painting this way a long time… there is still more to explain about the kit, so look for that in the near future on this channel- more info on the layering of transparent CMY and K and how to properly layer in transparent passes- as well as when to implement opaque color as above, both academically and intuitively.

Awesome video! Steve’s class at the airbrush art circus is also a must! I will definitely be trying out this system with my kit. ⚡️

Great video, I actually watched the whole thing 🤣. I was dubious at first about the grisaille kit thinking it was just a clever way to sell more paint but this explains the process very well. 🤙 Big props to you mate
