  • Using dato blades in your table saw requires the use of a custom throat plate. In this video I am going to show you how to make a custom throat plate for your table saw. I will be using a piece of 3/16 luan because of it's rigid makeup. Luan is an inexpensive way to creat your custom throat plate. About 10.00 to build 3 throat plates for your table saw.

Been living out of my original throat plate for my cabinet saw, when I bought my dado set this year. Set up 3 blades that would fit. Figured I would just do multiple passes if I wanted more dado. This tut is really good. Thank you.

Watched. Enjoyed. Liked and subscribed. Great video. I do not have a dado throat plate for my old Craftsman table saw and Ebayer's want around $50+ for a scratched up used one. So, your video just saved the day and I can't wait to make my own dado insert's using your technique. Thank you, sir. Much obliged.

What did you put for 3/8" , are your chippers 1/16" ? If so what was the spacer for cuz the outside blades are 1/8 so 2 of those plus 2- of the 1/16 should do it , not sure why you put the spacer in .

why did you not cut the original board just past length needed, then you would have saved the end piece for other jobs,, just a thought
