    Oh my goodness! You guys need to change the channel name too Fast Track Whisky. That haul is insane, and please, please, record the first experience of that Bunnahabhain. And...Strap in! ❣ Great to see you both excited for this...

    It just goes to show how getting into Whisky can get out if hand. I thought I was bad! 😄 It helps that it's a passion for both of you. Next time my wife complains about me buying a bottle of whisky, I'll show her your video. I can't wait to see the future videos from these bottles. Enjoy 🥃

    What a haul! Some amazing whiskies chosen there. I'd love to get my hands on that Bunnahabhain Moine Oloroso!
    Your parting words "or ... go to Scotland and pick them up" made me chuckle - I'm going to record my 'unpacking' of my purchases now I'm back from Islay :D

    Pro tip for opening the packaging (the video is a bit old but maybe someone else will stumble across this and it might help them)...
    Go ahead and pierce the cells to deflate them, comes right off, easier to pop in the recycling, easy!

    Really interesting video. I can walk to that auction warehouse from work, and the guys there remind locals like me that 99% of what’s bought/sold arrives and leaves by couriers going all over the world. Only a tiny fraction is to walk-in local whisky geeks. Big business now, but also worth a good look each month!

      @@WhiskyMystery it's an exploration. after some research you start with the first few budget bottles, then you do more research and buy few more. then there is a sale so you buy some more that you did not plan to buy, then you feel like you almost there but you just missing few pieces to complete the collection so you buy those. and the next morning you realize there is another region to discover, another age bracket do try, another special occasion bottle you can gift yourself. it's never ending quest 😎

    • @ktkontrakt5904
      @ktkontrakt5904 5 лет назад

      @@WhiskyMystery I'm still far off that. I've graduated from spending 20€ for budget bottles and 30€ for good one into considering 30€ bottles as budget and buying mainly 60€ bottles. I have few outliers like Octomores, but those I got on a great deal and still consider them exceptions. I'm currently not willing to spend big $, since I'm not sure I would be able to appreciate them and also I already have enough in my collection to be able to drink for few years without buying another bottle.

    Much easier to pull the bottles out of the sleeves if you deflate them with a good poke. Nice bunch! Always love a big crate of whisky coming to the door but, alas, my stocks are a bit too full to be ordering more (and most places will no longer deliver to my state). Enjoy! I look forward to seeing your review videos!
    By the way, the Moine Oloroso is a nice -- or should I say mean -- bottle. Just had a sip tonight after seeing this video. It's pretty intense; bacon, smoke, ash, but good if you're in the right mood. A bit too young & sharp for my tastes, though.
    Have purchased and sold on SWA several times in the past and always had a good experience. Prices keep going up and up, though. (Good for selling, bad for buying!).

    • @WhiskyMystery
      @WhiskyMystery  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks JA M. I thought they were worth saving incase I need to ship a bottle. We will await the Bunn MO to show up in our blind tasting. Might actually be able to recognize it for a change. We realize we are part of the increasing price problem but could not help ourselves.

    • @JohnMorris-ob9rz
      @JohnMorris-ob9rz 5 лет назад

      @@WhiskyMystery Price on SWA is just reflective of the wider market trends, of course. Scotch is a cyclical kind of commodity and I expect we're at a bit of a peak but it won't dissuade me from getting bottles I enjoy. I do think the MO will be something you two will identify on blind tasting. The intensity of peat along with the bacon-y smoke and sharp alcohol is rather telling.

If I knew how to attach a picture I took before selling it I could show you. I believe it sold for £170. If your interested take a look at Matts whisky collection on RUclips.
