you have no idea how much you just saved my life. I had no idea what I was doing and I have a final coming up, you made it so I can pass. Thank you so much!
I THINK I LOVE THIS GUY!!!!!!!! I've been in the SAME math class for over 2 YEARS now because i just can't seem to grasp the concept of slope/intercept. I do ok in every other part of the class, but when we get up to this, i ALWAYS fail. It's EXTREMELY frustrating at times, especially when the textbook and teachers are no help, it seems like they only make things worse and more difficult. But NOW i'm starting to get it.......a little.......THANK GOD FOR RUclips!!!!!!!
Thaaaaank you RUclips / yourteachermathhelp! So much better than original teachers blabbing on for 50 minutes a day, when this is just a simple 2 minute video!
My teacher gave us a long speech on why we can't record what she's saying during class. I don't understand why because it really helps to have a video you can go back to. Thankfully I have these videos, Thanks!
i have been learning this for weeks and now i finally get it. Teachers should just teach us by making us watch these videos, it would be much easier to understand
This helped me so much. Haven't had a teacher all year and no one could actually break it down to where everyone could understand. even though i am a Straight A student, this was still being explained harder than it is.
@HauteAsHelloE Say the equation is, y= 4/5x-6. You would subtract -4/5x from both sides and then end up with -4/5x+y=6. Next, since you can't have fractions in a linear equation, you have to multiply everything by 5. -4x+5y= 30
this is how the new schools should be like. all on youtube taught from these guys. School is just a waste of time. this makes learning very convenient and easy to understand!
@M0nt4392 he didn't subtract from 6, he subtracted from the blank space behind it. since there was no x on the right side, it is just -2x. it is like subtracting 2x from 0x.
@burnwild28 The 2x term was subtracted from both sides of the equation. The right side could be 6-2x which is the same as -2x+6. Adding a negative is the same as subtracting a positive
@MightyDawq To find the b value you have to have the m,y and x value for example m=2 y=5 x=-6 so you would do: 5=2(-6)+b 5=-12+b 5+12=b 17=b FINAL ANSWER: y=2x+17
you're my saver!!!now I can pass the exam because last month and the other month before I can't even get 31 all of it were just like 27,30,29 grrr~!!!!and I thought that I can't graduate if I didn't get this kind of problem but now,,,,I can totally pass the exam~!!!!
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG I'm taking my district test then I look at half the problems and I have no idea what they're talking about, you sir have saved me at least with 7 problems.
Thank you for the easy explaination. I was very fusterated, I graduated high school 25 years ago, so I don't really remember algebra. I can now help my 7th grader. lol. Thanks again.
In the first question, 2x+3y=6. You want to isolate y, so you subtract 2x-2x. You have to do it on the other side, or under the answer to the equation. So 2x-2x would cancel out since they're the same, and the answer now is 3y=2x+6 (written in slope intercept form.) To isolaye y, divide each side be three. You're left with y= -2/3 (rise and run) x+2 (he divided 6 by three, and the quotient is 2. Hope this helped :)
Thank God for these videos... probably the only way I will ever get outta this dang class... I just wish they had a video that would show how this crap will ever be relevent in my professional life so I could feel better about all of the time and money I have squandered away having to take it.
@qwaynte you add x on both sides and it comes out to 2y=x+4 then you graph it.. put a dot on the four and go up 1 and over one to the right... hope this helps..
In y+x=1 the x and y have an invisible 1 in front of it it's like saying I have 1 marble or I have a marble they both mean the same thing so subtract x you get y=(1)x+1
awesome~!!!!thx sir~!!!you're so great!!!when my teacher was teaching this to our class he speaks very fast just like someone is catching him up but this guy is really awesome I totally get it thx!!!!
I feel your pain, I was like you but now I have more appreciation for math. In high school, it might feel like a drag and you tell yourself " I'm never going to use this in life ". Well the truth is you use math all the time. The more complex math like calculus and trigonometry are the math that will pay good money if you know how to use it, for example Engineers and Doctors. Plus math strengthens different areas of the brain because your thinking in a logical fashion. Math is power my friend.
WOW! this really really helped me alot!. im so glad i found this. he went slowly and i understood it much better then my math book told me too. Great Video! :)
Wow, I've had a lot of problems doing Slope-Intercept Form because I didn't even know how to start in the first place and you made it look so easy. Now I feel dumb now.
@wiifanboy0 2x = 4y + 8 2x - 8 = 4y y = 1/2x - 2 Mark the -2 y-intercept as your first point, then for your second go up one and then right 2. Am I missing something?
DUDE!!! The way you explained it is soooo simple. Where can I find your videos in order? I have rectangular coordinate system, graphing line equations, intercepts, slope , and equation of lines. And I had the worst stress Headache ever since starting this class.
You can't combine 2x and 6 because they aren't like terms. It'd be different if it were 2x and 6x, because they both have the same variable and are like terms, but here they are not. Your second question: the reason why he subtracted 2x from 6 and not 2x from 3y is because you're trying to get y by itself, therefore you have to put 2x on the opposite side of the equal sign to make it a "y=" equation, instead of the way it originally was set up. If you have any more questions, just ask (:
Don't feel dumb. That's why it's called "Learning". You rock!
Every video on this channels is simple and to the point.
i love how the teacher is talking as if he's talking to some 1st grader. THIS IS PERFECT FOR ME!!!
I been 3 hours looking all over the internet on how to solve this. I know where to look next time.
THANK YOU SO MUCH.
17 years ago and this channel iand its videos are still helping us learn!
thank you very much my teacher couldn't teach a world champion boxer to punch
I agree
+MoNsTa breereall-45
herobrine!!!!!!
Lol
Seems hard and complicated in school and then it's like, you get on youtube and this guy makes it simple and easy! Thank God for youtube!
you have no idea how much you just saved my life. I had no idea what I was doing and I have a final coming up, you made it so I can pass. Thank you so much!
wow, 2007 and its still helping people in 2018. Thanks for the help
I'm a senior in high school, with no math capabilities whatsoever. Thanks for the help, without these math tutorials, I would fail.
I THINK I LOVE THIS GUY!!!!!!!! I've been in the SAME math class for over 2 YEARS now because i just can't seem to grasp the concept of slope/intercept. these videos will never get old. they just stay up forever always here to help :)
My teacher gave us a long speech on why we can't record what she's saying during class. I don't understand why because it really helps to have a video you can go back to. Thankfully I have these videos, Thanks!

thanks you helped alot! i have a test tomorrow. you're a better teacher than mines.
wow dude 90 minutes of class did not help but this few did, thanks alot man and good job
This helped me so much. Haven't had a teacher all year and no one could actually break it down to where everyone could understand. even though i am a Straight A student, this was still being explained harder than it is.
He's the best teacher i never had!

Thanks for this! I need a quick refresher on y-intercept form and this did the job perfectly.
This guy has helped me thru 3 math courses!!!
HOLY MOLEY, i Just learned this in 2 minutes, which took me 2 weeks to learn from my teacher!
I thank you for your services sit you taught me this in less than 4 minutes! Your awesome!
He explains this perfectly. Excellent teacher.
How do you convert it if the X is the second variable in the equation?
I like this guy.. he explains well !!
@@narimanmamedov1102 he posts daily lol
omg you just taught me something... i couldnt learn in actuall math class for the past 3 weeks -.- ty!
it takes my teacher over 20 minutes to explain this and I still didn't get it....a 2 min youtube video, watched once, I got it. thank you!
Regular teachers make this so hard and take weeks; this guys did in less then 3 minutes!
this guy is a good teacher....some math teachers makes everything(on math) complicated............
You are the perfect calm instructor
@burnwild28 The 2x term was subtracted from both sides of the equation. The right side could be 6-2x which is the same as -2x+6. Adding a negative is the same as subtracting a positive
wow i learned this so quick and easy! no one at home out of the smart bunch could help me with my algebra.Thanks man
lol, didn't care for this for 4 years and now i just learned in 2 minutes from this guy...
@MightyDawq b is the y intercept u can find the y intercept by finding where y hits 0 x like 0,3 the y intercept is 3
OMG!!! THANK YOU!!! This guy saved my life.
My teacher CANNOT teach!! >.< Thank god I have this guy x3
Thanks for this :) because of this video I can Answer our final math exam tomorrow!!
This is very helpful. Im behind my class in this and you are helping me get back on track. Thank you
@MightyDawq To find the b value you have to have the m,y and x value
for example
m=2
y=5
x=-6
so you would do: 5=2(-6)+b
5=-12+b
5+12=b
17=b
FINAL ANSWER: y=2x+17
you're my saver!!!now I can pass the exam because last month and the other month before I can't even get 31 all of it were just like 27,30,29 grrr~!!!!and I thought that I can't graduate if I didn't get this kind of problem but now,,,,I can totally pass the exam~!!!!
Oh my gosh. You don't know how much I love you.
Thank you so much. I told my teacher I'm like a brick wall to this. So now I can do this. Thank you again.
thank you! that's all i needed to finish my homework! i wish my teacher could give the lesson in under 3 minutes :P
OMG!!! THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!! My teacher is so bad at teaching, BUT YOU BUDDY, YOU ARE GREAT! You saved my butt!!!
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG I'm taking my district test then I look at half the problems and I have no idea what they're talking about, you sir have saved me at least with 7 problems.
OMG my teacher couldn't teach me this in the last 3 years, and you did it in 2 minutes :D
thank you man...........why is it that u teach better that my algebra 1 teacher!!!
Thank you for the easy explaination. I was very fusterated, I graduated high school 25 years ago, so I don't really remember algebra. I can now help my 7th grader. lol. Thanks again.
@uriahgunn1 if you have x by itself then the slope is 1 meaning the slope is 1/1 so rise=1 and run=1
@DropDeadGxOfficial No you can't subtract 6 from 2x, because 6 doesn't have an x. If it did it would look like 6x-2x = 4.
Am i the only one who doesn't understand math at all
othman alkouh *raises hand* I suck too don't worry
othman alkouh We are 3
*Dont worry, if u watch it several times, u will get a clue, even if u dont fully understand it*
I have a math test tommorow that I am definitely failing
me to
thanks. i forgot how to do this. havent done it since high school, and now remember how easy it was
Now I get it! It took me two tests and 3 MONTHS to get at least a slight idea and and now I get it in @ EEFFING MINUTES!!! God thank you!
@maz0o1 yes, there is no X so when you graph it it'll be horizontal
In the first question, 2x+3y=6. You want to isolate y, so you subtract 2x-2x. You have to do it on the other side, or under the answer to the equation. Thank you, i already knew how to do this but couldn't remember the name for a project. Good lesson too.
you make algebra so much easier to understand!

yeah my teacher sucks at teaching so i just googled it and it took me here and all i have to say is THANK GOD FOR THE INTERWEBS
that ending stare pierces into your soul....
this video helps me more than my math teacher god bless yourteachermathhelp :)
Thanks you so much you have no idea how much help this all was!
awesome~!!!!thx sir~!!!you're so great!!!when my teacher was teaching this to our class he speaks very fast just like someone is catching him up but this guy is really awesome I totally get it thx!!!!

WOW! this really really helped me alot!. im so glad i found this. he went slowly and i understood it much better then my math book told me too. Great Video! :)
Watching this video today realizing how to finally do this stuff. Man you really helped me out :D
You have to find the slope first. Using y2-y1 or x2-x1. Then plug it into y=mx+b. m is the slope.
THANK YOU I HAVE A TEST TOMORROW AND YOUR CHANNEL IS HELPING SO MUCH!! My teacher explains things to fast but this channel is my new guide.
u helped me on the test so much u only reason i passed math
Wow. It's that easy!? I just learned what took my class 4 days to learn only took me 3 minutes!! I might actually pass my test tomorrow
He's voice is relaxing and helps me concentrate haha.
Thanks saved my life I'm a freshmen in highschool and have algebra acceleration and slope is the hardest and I have state tests tomorrow thx :)
Wow, I've had a lot of problems doing Slope-Intercept Form because I didn't even know how to start in the first place and you made it look so easy. Now I feel dumb now.
Wow this guy is amazeing my math teacher cant even teach 70mins a day everyday and I'm clueless and 2:41 of this guy and bam I got it
Thank you, it all makes sense now. Great explanation, thanks for posting!
this dude is amazing teacher.
@qwaynte you would add x because it is negative, all you do is try to eliminate x so y is by yourself, so itd be 2y=x+4
I think because on the graph, positive 3 on the x axis is in Quadrant 1. So he moved right...
this guy should seriously become my teacher
thanks so MUCH i didnt understand in geometry class but w/ your help i do now..Thanks again!!
He's a great teacher!
Thank you so much for posting this! Very helpful, now It makes sense!
You just saved me a week of math in my life o_O
where'd he get the -2 in the second line ? is it the one that your subtracting ?
omg thank you sooooooo much u really helped me i was soo lost at school until now
over an hour on the net and he teaches in 3 minutes subbed lol
Dude you're so better than my algebra teacher :D
For the inequality 10x+5y>-20, you would subtract 10x to get 5y> than what? Would it be
5y>10x +-20 or --20? Please help
i freeking love you! and i have a test tomorrow ; dude thanks a lottt :D
@wiifanboy0
2x = 4y + 8
2x - 8 = 4y
y = 1/2x - 2
Mark the -2 y-intercept as your first point, then for your second go up one and then right 2. Am I missing something?
DUDE!!! The way you explained it is soooo simple. Where can I find your videos in order? I have rectangular coordinate system, graphing line equations, intercepts, slope , and equation of lines. And I had the worst stress Headache ever since starting this class.

You show better lessons that my teacher
your printing is so clear!
dude,thank god you exist or else I would be failing math... !!!
