You can be poor in material wealth but rich in love and humanity. Burundians are rich in love and humanity. Love to our Burundians brothers and sisters from Kenya 🇰🇪
No love in BURUNDI they hate each other and they hate foreigners.
I couldn't have said it better, though they think they have everything in the West, They're still not happy. People are happy in africa
Africa has greedy leaders
Well, we're tired of it. The world is tired of seeing poor Africans. Things need to change and Africans need to become materially rich.
They are rich on their way. No country should decide which ones are rich or not. Generalization is a kind of brainwashing. Each country in the world has a rich and bad side. Even in France there are poor people...and rich ones
Burundi is not as bad as the media portrays it. People are happy and living their lives. Long live Africa! Sending love from Rwanda 🇷🇼🇷🇼
But their hospitality and humankind respectful is too low
You are not good at all
That's true
What is the definition of poverty?
Qui t'as payé pédé pour écrire ce titre ?
This country is not poor. The GDP might be low but the people are happy and they look healthy. They have food and the enviromnent is naturally beautiful. That matters alot. Much love from Uganda.
I am sure they must have excellent health care when they get sick, according to your definition. Did he pass up one hospital or a university? They have no choice but to survive.
❤
@@Dan-xx5jq The natural herbs even works better than pills.
@@Dan-xx5jq and am very sure he didnot meet dead bodies lying along the streets. By the way health care services are not got only from hospitals. Some people take years without going to hospitals and stay healthy. During covid era here in Uganda many rich people who isolated and sought expensive health care died yet the poor who were roaming the streets looking for survival remained alive. Am not saying that poor people dont die but i mean, God cares for us all. If the political leaders dont care, God cares. And people die everywhere. Even in developed countries people die and they died alot during covid era. Different countries have different pronlems. So my dear, poverty is not always measured through GDP only.
It’s Africa so one has to come up with attention grabbing title. Poorest country, most dangerous country, attacked in Africa, surrounded by gunmen in Africa, etc. that’s what westerners already believe.
I like how the cyclist Jonas is friendly and also fluent in both languages english and french. Burundi is a beautiful place and people are nice as well. Love from Rwanda❤
I hate it that money determines how rich is a person. Most of us are happy and wealthy without money. I love Burundi.
you are making a valid point actually, because if we change their wealth to present dollar value it will blow your mind but at the same time it's capitalistic world and we can't act ignorant or convince everyone, humans are selfish and evil. Eventually their population is going to increase and their wealth will be limited to them only while the services and system are poor hence they won't have a bargaining power which might lead to them being taken advantage of.
@LennieMuriithi
Burundi is victim of propaganda
Is a sickness here in the USA. I hate it.
How?
Money is what assures that your country doesn't get sold off, and can afford defense.
Am actually impressed by my people ❤🇧🇮 it’s amazing how many of them are able to express themselves in English in such remote areas despite the country being a French speaking country! Their kindness is commendable as well. 👏🏾
Speaking English is a source of pride for you?😏
It is a source of pride, why? Access to information, networking & career opportunities, access to media, scientific collaboration, access to top universities and so many more advantages,...
@@ImfuraKenny Nah, people who do not speak any foreign language achieve all those things you mentioned.

Kino you are right
The GDP per Capita narrative is a myth that the west and Europe use to undermine African countries.
Because they know African countries majority of people grow their own food, and build their houses on their lands literally living a decent life, but because they don't generate money into the economy the GDP will be low but actually not poor in reality.
European countries were built on industrialisation, people don't have land, they stay in cities meaning that if one doesn't have money he can't survive. Here in our countries people can survive eating nice food through out even without earning a dollar. Africans we just have to change our mindset... GDP per Capita is not our thing here
As a kenyan nice point, income is relative, lifestyle of one person is different from lifestyle of another, if you sleep on a 6x6 king size bed and i sleep on 3x4 comoftable bed that does not mean, you have great sleep than mean, if you spend more than me that does not mean you enjoy life more than me, if am content then am having a comfortable life, same with GDP per capita if you have a higher GDP and i have less, that does't mean am poor, it means am content but not poor.
You are right ❤
It may not be accurate but a high GDP is very important in a globalized world. Unless you're self sufficient in food, fuel and essential industries.
Very few countries like the US, Russia and Brazil can be this.
@@1wun1 African countries just need to boost their manufacturing industries for essential goods, coz majority have food and have capacity to grow more food.

Bonjour Yves,
Vraiment agréablement surpris par la propreté du Burundi 😊
Oui nous sommee bien normalement
Bienvenue au BURUNDI 🇧🇮
I am impressed that they can converse in four languages, French, English, Swahili, and their own native language. I tried learning French but found it very difficult! i guess i am not as smart as them. They need opportunities.....
It doesn’t mean they are smarter than you though because Ability to learn a language ≠ Intelligence. However, it’s still very very commendable. They are probably a lot more educated than we give them credit for.
Me too I'm so impressed, credit to them ❤ and they are very friendly indeed
We appreciate you
Know languages are one of our talents
In Burrundi, learning Kirundi,Swahili nd French is compulsory at Primary school the English at high School and the other 3languages from primary school
So,Any Burundian who finishes High School in Burundi can communicate in these 4languages.
Except the old generation who had a different caliculum or a Burundian who grew up nd studied in foreign country as a Refugee

First and foremost, I want to let you know how much my wife and I enjoy your videos. My wife, in particular, is a devoted fan who watches them religiously, and her enthusiasm has gotten me hooked as well. We truly appreciate the effort and passion you pour into your content.
However, I felt compelled to comment on the title of your latest video, "Cycling across the poorest country in WORLD." While I understand that GDP per capita might be used as a measure, I found the title to be somewhat degrading. After watching the video, I noticed even you acknowledged that the people of Burundi are not as poor as the title suggests.
Your journey across Africa has shown that wealth isn't solely about money, and the richness of culture, resilience, and community spirit are just as important. It would be great if the titles of your videos could reflect the positive aspects of the countries you visit, rather than focusing on negative statistics.
Thank you for sharing your amazing journey with us. We look forward to more of your adventures!
Thank you very much for coming to visit us in Burundi and bring it so that others can see the beautiful country

Your videos has helped me confirm that Africa is beautiful but our problem is our greedy leaders who want everything for themselves...country like Uganda is so richly green but the poverty is just 👎 thank you kino for exposing this thieves leaders
Africans always never miss someone to blame for their shortcomings and faults, still you can develop yourself starting with close opportunities surrounding you, you said Uganda is fertile rich but people fail to cultivate their immediate fertile land and sell produces to themselves and neighbors which doesn't necessarily need government intervention, we should blame the government on infrastructures but if there's a will there's a way (swahili proverb)
@lila. I am Burundian (but I don't live in Burundi). I grew up in the rural area in Burundi in the 1950/1960. I have much respect for the people of Uganda when I see videos of rural areas with nice asphalt roads, nice houses along the roads, lush fields. I look at it as a yardstick for Burundi development.
Get lost! Uganda we are rich please.
You people like blaming others for your failures especially ugandans. How come refugees come from other countries to Uganda with nothing hurstle it out and become successful in the same country while u natives are blaming the government. You like staying in cities looking for white collar jobs, while running away from your villages which have fertile soils, meanwhile refugees come and rent out that same land grow crops and become wealthy while u are still waiting for the government.
Hard to believe this country is the poorest in the world! It's so beautiful ❤️

If you own your house, grow your own food or can afford to buy food and you're happy then one is not poor. YOU'RE RICH. In the west we have the big houses, cars and all material things but yet we are depressed, sick going to the hospital for all sort of ailments, and had to worry about if you lose your job all the material things will be taken away. That is not rich.

I discovered Muyinga for the first time in 2018 when I went to Burundi to visit my family. I went to Muyinga to see a person with whom I started elementary school in 1959 in a place called Bomba in Commune Tangara, Ngozi Province. I visited Kobero border crossing and it was a wierd feeling because back in 1985 I had been on the other side of the border in Kabanga (Tanzania). I was living in Tanzania as a refugee, I traveled from Dodoma to Kabanga to meet my dad. Somehow he knew a family there that hosted us for two days and I didn't have to pay for a room in a lodging/local small hotel.
It's an asset in Burundi, as we favor the teaching of two languages (French and English), we are lucky that we can express ourselves without any problem whether it is in French or in English. Big up Burundi 🇧🇮
