Hah! These labels scared me, so I sent them to you to make you try them first; I expected them to be drain pours (more of a prank than anything) - glad to know that there's something interesting going on, although their marketing and transparency is absolutely horrendous! If I remember correctly, they were $19.99 and $29.99 respectively (but it's been about 2 years since I sent them, and I think I purchased them more than a year before that). Cheers! (I think that package also had a side-by-side of Elijah Craig picks, which i don't think ever made a video - hoping to see those soon too!)
I’m from Branford, and I’ve never heard or seen this supposed distillery. Nor have I seen it sold at local package stores. The website doesn’t even have an address on it. Best case scenario is that was made is some dudes basement.
It is under a different name. They were recently bought by a group of friends. They have really been pushing it throughout CT. It is actually pretty good. They have new labels compared to this episode.
Did a barrel pick there a few years ago; good stuff. Great people too; they made sanitizer during COVID shortages, but refused to sell it, so that people didn't flip it; if you were a business in need, all you needed to do was reach out, and they'd provide it for free.
The super I got was sooooo bad I dumped it. Only bottle I’ve ever done that too. I wonder if they didn’t clean the lines after running the Chinese spirits or something else. Really surprised you found it drinkable.
I’m not sure what Daniel is referring to in his pronunciation. Soju (소주) is South Korea's "National Drink" whereas shaojiu (烧酒/燒酒) also known as Baijiu is a colorless Chinese liquor.
I just had a re-thought; but have they ever talked about Jim Beam Devil’s Cut and how accurate the advertising is to how you actually extract a devil’s cut as described?

5x distilled would basically make it whiskey flavored vodka? I don't make fun of products as a rule, but this seems... a bit excessive and doesn't quite compute.

I live in Connecticut. Other than Litchfield I didn't know there was another CT whiskey.
Mine Hill is another one you should be able to find(I live in CT as well)

Litchfield and Mine Hill are way better bourbons than Branford but some of the vodkas are good __budget__ sippers - the rice and corn in particular

So they have changed their label since this was filmed, also they seem to only be selling the Super Bourbon, no normal bourbon
We have some decent bourbon in CT. Litchfield Distillery is my favorite distillery out here

You could downsize into 50ml bottles immediately if you hate the original bottle. As a bonus, no oxidizing.

I got married in Branford, CT and saw this bottle at the Bev Max and had to buy a bottle. Not good . Sorry Branford Distillery. Beautiful town though.
