Awesome video as always. I’ve switched to the Groove-It mini because the Large one is heavy when full of water and disconnects too easily (have lost two that disconnected). A damp towel + Mini (which is silly- lightweight) is a bombproof setup. Cheers dude 🥃
Hi Andrew - I’m a South African living in the Jax area too. Grew up playing junior golf with Louis Osthuizen, Charl Schwartzel, Richard Sterne etc. have you ever thought about doing a match play video? 😊
Quick question: I have a fairly high swing speed but with a more "players" style 3 wood i struggle to get the ball high enough in the air and with a "Max" style wood It is much higher but even worse for me more spinny and i have less control. I like the idea of the qi10 tour with the weight further back to help me get more elevation than a "max" style but also keep the spin down. Ball speed wise i am 150-155 or so with a three wood for reference. Also does it have any forgiveness or it going to be much harder to hit than a "normal" style head? I have also enjoyed the TM woods but really would like a non-bonded head like the tour or stealth 2 plus to be able to change shafts easier.
The best answer would be getting a fitting for a 3W that matches to the speed you produce and creates the desired flight you want. You can watch/read about all the clubs that “in theory” would work for you, but investing an extra 100-150 bucks to get a fitting will give you a higher ROI on the final 3W you get than just trying to guess and potentially end up no different than what you already had in the bag that’s giving you troubles. The best club is ALWAYS the one that is fit for YOU
I never played a Taylormade ball until this year. I tried a TP5x by mistake and was blown away. I had to get a sleeve and give them a go. That ball is very impressive. Do you keep extra wood shafts around for making a change if you feel it is necessary? I have the same spider putter and I can't agree more. Love it. My most favorite putter as well. I have the bent shaft neck in mine. I liked the look of your style until I was over a putt. Then I liked my neck style better.
Really miss your golf vlogs. Im sure your life has been taking you in several different directions and your priorities aren't on playing multiple times a week anymore. But for next year, if you can find 1-2 "Majors" for you to prep for, would love to see you make some documentative style content towards those favorite events of yours. Document a session with an instructor, some practice grind sessions, and a few round vlogs as you prep for those events. And then a tournament round posting. I think you're at that point where your content is relatable to many of us who have good game but might not have that same time investment anymore. Would love to see you try to scrap something out in an event. Really hope things are going well for you and appreciate you posting, you need to hear that... your content always been good! Hope this winter goes well for you
I’ve been considering grip change to the UTX Green cord/tac grip- LOVE the way they look and feel in the shop, but I have never had them on a club etc. Are they hard on your hands and golf glove?
What size of grip you using ? Been keen to try out the lamkin utx cord but in midsize they are quite heavy and I’m not sure how it would affect swing weight
Surprised you don’t have a set of Avodas in the bag yet 😂 You hit those sweet and they looked sick doing it
Need to be fit for a set if they’re to earn a spot in the bag!
Great WITB! Glad to see the SPDR and GAPR still in the bag!
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

swing looking pure pro
Haha thanks!
Interesting that you went back to Taylormade from the Takomo irons. I was also surprised at the Opus wedges!
The longer I used the Takomo irons, the more I realized the slight shortcomings in performance and consistency

Yeah, I have a bag full of shafts from over the years… part of the reason sticking with TM woods is my presence, lots of options now!

Thoughts on South Hampton? Not sure if you have played there recently/are a member still?

Make the switch! I’ve never noticed or considered them hard on the hands/glove

I use the standard size with 3-4 wraps of tape
What hat is that?
It’s Melin
