I’d just like to commend you for your bravery and for sharing something so humiliating and horrific, you didn’t need to but you did and that was VERY hard and will undoubtably help others and for that I absolutely adore you and respect you and am so proud of you,
Unacceptable behaviour must always be called out.

Thank you so much. It was something I felt compelled to share. I spoke with Chris about it, and it was something that I just felt needed to be shared for all the others who are going through it now or have been dealing with this. And I know it's not just women that deal with this it is men as well. It was not something that was planned, but something moved me to share my experience. It was definitely uncomfortable and embarrassing, but I knew that I had to add it to this video. I want to be as true and as raw with you all as possible. I'm a human, and I love sharing the good and bad. 🤍 Jess x
I could see from the start of the video, Jess, that you were really churned up about something. I confess I was relieved to learn that it was something now in the past, if you are able now to see it that way, rather than something that impacts your future. If, hopefully, you are able now to not allow it to. Whatever it was was clearly beyond unacceptable, and I just hope Chris or the authorities (or both) took the appropriate steps. I suspect it maybe provides more context to what you shared in your previous video?
Please don't worry at all. You have built a community of friends and supporters here, who think the world of you, because of your so genuine, honest and supportive impressions of our country. And because you are clearly such a lovely family, as your wonderful children are a testament to. But also, because - and please take this in the best possible way, as it is intended - you are concentrating not on the idealised, but on the ordinary. The normal. The real. I hope I speak for others when I say that is why we love your videos, and you, so much. Stay strong, and keep on sharing!
I definitely love the UK and will not let anything stop me from falling more in love with this country. I really wanted to share things that I love and also wanted to be raw and share something that happened to me. That was extremely unfortunate. I appreciate you all supporting and loving us. It truly means the world to us.
The incident was documented, and Chris did discuss it with the individual. Unfortunately, I still have not been able to approach the person. Maybe one day, just not at this time. He strikes me as someone who "speaks softly but carries a big stick" and who you would most definitely want to be at your side in the trenches. As well as driving you safely and considerately and just so well on our narrow roads!
Many Brits do not necessarily have the highest of opinions of Americans - so often based on the actions of the few, and on what we see on the news. Thank you for showing us what has been my own experience of (really so enjoyable!) visits to the US. Most of us, either side of the Pond, are the same - caring, decent, honest, normal people. Yes, I am very thankful for Chris taking care of it. He definitely is a very laid-back person but doesn't tolerate nonsense.
Regarding the opinions of Americans. I understand that opinions are formed based on some Americans who are rude and hateful. I know most Americans are definitely not like that, but understand that some bad apples can ruin the bunch. Chris and I just have to keep working to spread kindness and love to everyone even if they don't have the best opinion of us.

Hi, as a man I am disgusted how some people abuse their position with unwanted sexual harassment being the worst. I'm so sorry this happened to you and embarrassed it happened in England. It should never be tolerated.

I am genuinely sick to my soul to see such a lovely and loved person in pain. Nobody should be made to feel such despair, and nobody should ever be so arrogant as to think they can make another human being feel so; just remember, you have your own power and nobody can take that away from you, and nobody can have more power over you than yourself. Dearest Jess. I think that many have had unwelcome attention in their lives. I was told, 'dont complain if you want to keep your job and professional advancement.' One develops coping measures and avoidance techniques but it's still shocking when it first happens. My nemesis was finally sent to prison. 50 years on, I'm good.

I was touched inappropriately as a teenage boy and it has scarred me for over 50 years adversely affecting how I interact with people and in relationships.

Your comment about female lorry drivers, my first job in 79 was at a lorry parts dealership and the oldest driver was a female past retirement age called Ann, she was absolutely lovely, a small person (statue wise) but with a huge heart, lovely and kind with everyone, a couple of people at first were unsure if she would be able to lift the loads carried, she showed everyone that she was as capable as any male driver working there, a beautiful lady to the core, it taught me a great lesson at a young age, I have 4 older sisters so I had a head start, but Ann was a special person to all who knew her, thank you for reminding me of that time and of Ann, I'm happy that you are finding the UK welcoming :)
That is an amazing story of some of the original trail blazers with females in the work force. It sounds like Ann was a lovely lady and I am glad I could bring up such a fond memory for you. Cheers 🤍 Jess x

Although sad that you had to go through such an incident in this country in this day and age, at least you did find a guy like Chris who clearly comes across as a man who treats women very well and of course you are also raising a wonderful and respectful son as well. The positivity you receive from your subscribers is a mere reflection of all the oceans of positivity you yourself put out there into the world.

Well done you for being open and honest. The things that happened to you are fortunately not common but that doesn't make it ok. Its absolutely horrible. I'm glad you don't hold it against us all.
Going off piste a little bit. When you picked up your drink I had to look twice because the way the camera is angled, it looked all through the video that your flowers were in that glass.
Anyway, continue to enjoy our country and make the most of it whilst you're here. I served in the military myself for many years in many different countries and every tour for my family and I was a new adventure, you have to grasp these times by the scruff of the neck and make the most of them.
I'm deeply sorry what happened to you, it makes me furious but try not to let it define you or your time here.

Hey Jess, you're very brave for sharing that experience, as others have said, don't let this man have power over you, you're worth a 1000 of him, and in Chris you have a fantastic husband/best friend, don't let this person take up ANY of your head space, he sounds like a real piece of sh*t and he'll get his just deserts.
Remember, if you pay attention to negative people or negative comments then that can manifest itself in your life, don't give them that headspace or time in your life, you're a wonderful couple, with a amazing family and don't let this incident stain your memory or experience of the UK.

This has to be one of the bravest things I have seen on RUclips. There is always a bad apple on the tree. Thankfully, they are not all bad. To treat a woman so badly that it leaves her traumatised is absolutely disgusting. I am a man and I find it reprehensible. Deeply shameful.

As you started this with the fact that you've seen more respectful attitudes here, and better maternity/paternity I thought that you'd been lucky to experience only positives, as so many of us have sadly experienced something rather less positive. You are very brave to share this horrible incident, and I hope if it happened in the UK, that the person faced the consequences of their actions. I hope that sharing helps to dispel the demons somewhat and I'm so sorry that you had to go through this shit. I cried with you, and am so angry that this crap still happens. The experience has been overall a great one. The one incident was not something that will define this experience for me. Oh my god I literally stopped breathing when you shared your awful experience hun. I watch all your videos have done for the longest time. I always like them but have never commented until now. I’m so very sorry you have been treated this way. Sadly I honestly think most women have at least one experience in life where we are treated like that. I too have had such experiences hun & my heart broke when you shared this. I’m so glad you haven’t allowed it to smear your time here with us. That person is vile & disgusting! That took some doing, Jess. Well done in bringing that unpleasant episode out into the open and to Chris in supporting you through it. I'm so sorry that happened to you. It was heart breaking to watch but it is so important to share. I too have had an awful experience and I never spoke about it because part of me blames myself for putting myself in an unsafe situation. I know that is not the reality and I did nothing wrong but as you say, it is hard to come to terms with. Thank you for being so brave.
I am sorry that you had to deal with something as well. Do not be afraid to talk about it. Even now, just getting it out in the open can help you heal. Don't be afraid to confide in someone that you trust to talk about your situation. It may not make it go away but it will help. Cheers 🤍 Jess x

Hi Jess. I have enjoyed your videos. At point 3:50 you were talking about the role women are taking in the UK’s Trucking industry. I never worked in that industry, I started work as an apprentice in what today is British Telecom in 1967. The only females in our industry then were the lady operators who answered the old 0, and later 100 calls. Many became married to engineers. The other ladies were Clerical Assistants for the managers. In the late 1900’s employment equality laws were changed, women could apply for any job. We started getting female apprentices who became technicians covering the whole business. These days you will see ladies climbing poles, erecting wires etc. Obviously they don’t wear dresses on pole work and wear the same safety wear as the rest of the male staff.
It is great to see how things have progressed in a relatively short period of time. It is great that women have the ability to apply for the same jobs and be treated the same as the male counter parts. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
What a beautiful and strong person you are Jess, I am so sorry that this could happen to you here. I know there are scumbags everywhere and they should be made to suffer for the pain they cause. It is unfortunate that a lot get away with such abysmal behaviour, please don't let it blight your life & outlook, I have so enjoyed your videos that yours is one of only a few channels I have commented on - you and Chris and the kids are such a breath of fresh air. You have been very brave of what you have been through it's very hard about talking of what has happened to you just because you're a nice person doesn't give other people the right to take advantage of others. It's hard for you at this time but stay brave.

Hi Jess, Firstly, it's very brave of you to mention this incident publicly, so my respect for you (which was very high anyway) is now sky high. I hope this person knows they did wrong and has apologised, and you don't have to see this moron again. Shedding a few tears on camera is good actually, crying releases the emotions. It's the old saying, you feel better after a good cry! To me, YOU and your family, are a wonderful edition to our country, albeit only temporarily of course. You did not have to tell us but doing so probably is good. We nearly all have secrets and troubles. Sometimes it is easier to 'come out' to trusted strangers. I am glad you have a lovely family and have enjoyed your time in the UK so much. Time does eventually heal one of traumatic episodes, I do know, even if they are never, ever forgotten, they can be left way behind. I know you will always appreciate the little and great good times you have spent here.

Huge, enormous, INSANE respect for saying this to a public audience. So many people bottle it up and that’s what really fcuks you up - getting it out in the open is surely the first step towards your mental healing. Don’t try and understand why you’re feeling like you are about it… just ride it out and talk about it. This whole comments section will reassure you that it is NOT YOUR FAULT. Women have been the subject of abuse from persons of power in all corners of the earth since time began. As a British person myself, it hurts my heart to know this happened to you on my patch. Watching your videos, I have always thought what a lovely lady you are. Now I know you are 'brave' too.. It has taken courage to speak about your recent nasty experience. Just talking about it will, I hope, diminish its power a little. Almost every person I know, who has been touched inappropriately, questioned whether they had done 'something' to create the situation. Why do good, kind people do that? So please throw that thought out of the window as soon as you can - it isn't true. Turn your scorn, instead, on the pathetic person who really deserves your contempt. Easier said than done I know. It just takes a bit of time to get something like this 'straight' in our heads. By speaking out today, in the way that you did, who knows how many other people you have helped who are in the same boat. What a great lady you are!

Speaking out is so very important on these things, and takes much bravery. I know from my own situations how hard it is an applaud your comment to others in the same boat. That sort of man deserves some sort of punishment, but likely will persist unless more speak out. No person should be harassed/abused or invaded in any way. May the karma they create haunt them, and only good things come to you, Chris and your family. What has happened has now moved on, and may your innate strength allow you to remove those memories and move on too. I am so pleased you have found so much good as a woman in the UK. It used to be the case that each region of the UK would have a sort of name when in general conversation. It's just an expression and doesn't mean anything personal and is dying out a bit as some people seem to take offence.
Just a few examples but in the Kettering/Leics area it's M'duck, In the northeast it's "Pet" sometimes it's "darling or Darlin". The word Love or Luv is pretty universal and you have Luvver or my lovely. In Scotland it can be "Hen"
You still get it a lot on the markets by the stallholders.
Shame about the "incident" and is the sort of thing that makes people draw back from friendly banter.
It makes me sad but that is the world we now live in.

Although I am male, and have never been sexually abused personally, it has followed me around, and the people I know, through out my life in the UK. As a child at a private boarding school the headmaster was running a paedophile ring and bringing in paedophile teachers kicked out of other schools. I have only recently found out the paedophiles went on abusing children for years after they were discovered, thanks to their links with important people such as MPs. Then in the workplace, both of my sisters suffered sexual harrasment at work, then later one of my sisters was raped by a priest, and everyone at her church turned her back on her and called her a liar. Then I worked for the Foreign Office just as the new Foreign Secretary "Pincher" started working there, and was sexually assaulting multiple male staff. They followed correct process and whistle blew about the assaults, and ultimately it contributed to the Prime Minister Boris Johnson being kicked out of office, when it became clear that he had promoted "Pincher" to be home secretary despite being fully aware that he was a sex offender.
The ex PM that you refer to has always made me feel sick to my stomach and how anyone can worship this person is totally beyond my comprehension.
@@michaelcowling5246 Unbelievably I have relatives who STILL think Boris was hard done by and is the greatest PM the UK has had since Churchill. I've basically had to cut all contact with them over this one issue, which I am loathe to do, but I hate that man so much that I can't physically be around anyone singing his praises.

I find all the negative people around me makes me more of a stonger person to carry on.
