I like your Brass sound, is that MODX or MODX+ you're using? I'm planning to get MODX+ or FANTOM O.. haven't decide it yet.. but this video is making me want to buy the Yamaha.. how about orch hits and powerchord guitar sounds? Is it any good in the modx?
Ive been looking for this horns sound for my modx😊 thank you! Do u also have an organ sound like the B3 for the modx? Im playing reggae music and trying to achive the B3 sound😊 thank you
Yes. It's the same for the MX model. I noticed it when I was playing it through my DAW and saw that the input level was lower than what I set on the keyboard. I push mine through an amp, so I the volume definitely has to be pushed significantly from an external source such as an amp, powered speaker, or powered mixer. What's your external source that you play through at church?
@@jsimzjmusic it run through a mixer and monitors and the height on the mixer and monitors are very high yet still I have to turn on almost all the volume when all the instruments are playing cause I hardly hear myself do you believe it has something to do with the velocity? I appreciate your response to me thanks looking forward of seeing more videos on this piano God bless
@@mydanbff5483 No problem. I am going to check into this a little more. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel. I'm getting ready to release more videos very soon.
@@mydanbff5483 There's a video on YT talking about the low velocity of the pianos. I have a MODX7+, copied the Grand Piano to my own patch, and increased the velocity. The title of the video is, "How to fix the thin piano sounds in the Yamaha MODX and Montage"
The only way I would upgrade is for recording purporses because you need more bottom and top to cover certain chords, riffs, and runs. It mostly depends on how you play. So, if you're a mid range mostly chords player the 6 would be just fine.
I have a question.. I have the Modx7 and everyone I know including myself can’t figure out how to keep the sounds from cutting out when your playing more then one sound at a time. For example: if I’m playing just a piano sound if I proceed to hit a deep bass note on top of the chords I’m already playing it cuts out and and I can’t figure out how to fix that problem
Anyone notice that some sounds play even if the volume sliders are all the way down? On the MODX7+ try these patches. Solo 1stViolin AF1, Solo 2nd Violin AF1, Solo Viola AF1, or Solo Cello AF1. Push the 4 sliders all the way up, then all the way down. Sounds will still play from some of the parts. It's not that big of a deal, but if you're layering sounds with a piano, and only want to hear the piano, there's no way to make the other sounds go away using the sliders. Happens with some of the pad sounds as well.
Thank you I just ordered one and I play guitar and have zero keyboard time but I can’t wait to learn
Here's the link for the MODX7 on Amazon: amzn.to/3G1mr1Q
Man all of those sound dope! I love your string technique.
Hey John, Thanks for information video on the Yamaha MODX. I just picked up the 8+ and can use all the lessons I can get. Thanks, Joseph
This was what I needed bro .. sound is very important. Thanks 🙏🏼
Thanks for explaining it so clearly. A lot of the videos people go thru it so quick they lose me.
No problem.
Brass sounding tuff ! Nice settings.
Beautiful playing and great teaching.
Very Good information and brilliantly played and put over.
I got the MODX 8! I hope to get the montage soon.
Thank you for sharing. Your playing is delightful..
Thanks for that. All glory goes to God who gives me the ability to do what I do.
Nice good sounds settings..
Fantastic video mate!!
Great work, love it
These patches sounds really amazing. Could you upload these performances to sound mondo please. Thanks.
Nice video. Very useful for sure. One thing just for clarification it is “MO” “DX”. As in a blend of Motif and DX7.
Thanks for that. That's what I say now. I use to play a DX7 a while back, so of course that makes so much more sense.
I really appreciate that thanks a million can you do a video on how to layer and don’t allow the sustain pedal to attach to the strings and pads
I hear you doc!
Does this keyboard have any nice rhodes sounds?
Thanks great video
what piano sound in the board are you using to mix / edit ?
Great video, thank you!
Can I know to get a nice saxophone sound setting on modx7?
I love what you do brotha. And never get rid of that tooth!
Thanks!😆🤣Actually, I'm planning on getting rid of it this year.
@jsimzjmusic to me it says you're independent/self made. I'd keep it!
How do you combine both together and still sounds seperate sir ie piano with string or pad for worship
What’s that movement that you’re doing when U first start playing

Also do you have problems with volume because my volume is very low when I take it to church please help I love this keyboard you are God sent🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Ok. I'm still working on that. I found out it does it with some sounds, not all. I'm going to dig a little deeper to find out if it can be fixed.

you could have tried to replace the woodwonds with the sax ensemble. more jazzy then a bunch of flutes and oboes. lol
Not very clear on which part of the 2 piano sounds are you placing those EQ settings on. As you know, the EQ is independent to each part.
My god what are those movements
I have the MODX8 and lost all my hair over it's complexity.
Me too😄 but this playlist and a couple of others from different sites are getting me up to speed.
Wow, ty for reply. You likely have the 2.52 update, yes?@@michelebass5151
Your piano volume setting seems too low. When u shift to other performances there will be big difference.
Thanks for your input.
You moving way too fast am a beginner
