Im dealing with a intermittent p0016 code in a 3.5 myself. The engine is pretty sludgy. Im willing to bet this will be the confirmed fix for me, I will try to update this comment after I solve it.
@@bretthonan6334 as I mentioned the engine was sludgy. The customer refused any further repairs. The car ended up getting traded in to us and we put an engine in it, which it needed.
hey gearheads, i need some advice. I'm getting the p0011 and p0016. What are the odds that it is not a timing chain but replacing the VVT and/or the camshaft sensor. as far as I can tell they all have the same symptoms. running rough throwing codes. the only history is there is a slight oil leak that I need to address, but I have kept the oil topped off and changed. car has less than 100k on it, prob ~80k
Can u possibly help me I have 2011 Chevy Impala and they said it was a camshaft position sensor at O'Reilly's but I'm not 100% sure if that's what I need or not plz help
Why is my car turning off after completely running out of oil just completely turns off while I'm driving and I can only start it after a good 20 minutes maybe
I have a 2013 Impala with the same code p0011 ..so should I also replace this sensor too...my car won't start because of this code also it's the only code
I changed the camshaft position actuator because I got a p0011 also but as soon as I turn the car on it was just loud noise banging noise a little history first I just changed the oil because I completely ran out of oil in the car turned off after that the car keeps turning off I changed the actuator and it still keeps turning off but the actuator to me was the cause of the loud noise help
Disconnect the actuators, start the car and see if it idles smoothly. If so, you have a circuit issue and they or one solenoid is being commanded on 100 percent when it's not. If it don't idle smooth, you likely bad actuators. And all the timing components need replacing. While you in there, check passages for sludge buildup
@@partsshooter I only replaced one accuator also called magnet it had 3 screws . So disconnect that or completely remove it turn the car on and see if the noise is there if it is I need to replace that part again
