I'm inclined to agree with some of X's opinions, but only to some extent I think a lot of the activities google engages in with regard to collecting data on, and tracking their users, are not inherently negative unless you are engaging in criminal activity which is an entirely different can of worms. In fact, like X said, some of these activities prove extremely useful to their users, providing them with individualized search results and navigation data suited to their requirements and preferences. This, in and of itself, wouldn't be enough to make me question google's propensity to use that data maliciously, but it provides an important foundation upon which evidence of more concerning behavior can be reasonably placed It is undoubtedly true that google has engaged in at the very least morally hazy activity as demonstrated, for example, by their services invading the privacy of individuals who choose to not directly use or opt-in to those services, and further, who actively *_opt-out_* of or disable them. The services themselves are not bad, but only when they have express consent of the user and are transparent about what data is being collected and how it is being used I do not think that consensual use of google's data collecting algorithms makes google an evil company, but their express disregard for their users' right to privacy underscores a more sinister purpose for said services beyond simply providing user convenience The point is not "google is evil right now and wants to eat your babies", but instead that a company as powerful and influential as google has the potential to become something of a villain, and their past and present history plots a concerning curve
Who's the one who gets to decide what's criminal behavior or possible criminal behavior? You people aren't seeing the big picture, no one small panel in a private company should have the power to stop the flow of information from things they don't agree with. The people themselves should be the ones tasked with finding truth, we don't need the government or their satellite mega corporations telling use what's wrong and what's correct.

theres an extremely high chance your data is already sold elsewhere on a sub market, it would actually be rare for your data to still be protected and yet nothing really happened to you, and it will never, maybe some indian will try to steal your email and you'll change your password and thats all that will ever happen to you
@@wilihey1425 That's not the point though, that's only used to create targeted ads so that these companies can earn money from referrals and clicks. The main goal of information mega corporations is to control what people think, what they see, and control how they will act. If people weren't shown bad things (misinformation fake shit or not) mostly every single person would be an independent thinker, but that's not how politicians win votes, and that's not how people get so mad at something that they will give up their own freedom of whatever JUST so that their politicians can make them believe that they will do anything to stop what they have been shown as bad.

All people at the top of hierarchy seek to preserve their position by any means necessary. Basic natural law anyone who contemplated the world for more than few minutes understands.
If you were alive last few decades and have decent understand of the world you simply cant think that establishment of tyranny is not their main goal.

Google knows me better than anyone else.
Oh, for sure. The youtube algorithm alone knows far more about my interests than any human being.
I'm inclined to agree with some of X's opinions, but only to some extent
I think a lot of the activities google engages in with regard to collecting data on, and tracking their users, are not inherently negative unless you are engaging in criminal activity which is an entirely different can of worms. In fact, like X said, some of these activities prove extremely useful to their users, providing them with individualized search results and navigation data suited to their requirements and preferences. This, in and of itself, wouldn't be enough to make me question google's propensity to use that data maliciously, but it provides an important foundation upon which evidence of more concerning behavior can be reasonably placed
It is undoubtedly true that google has engaged in at the very least morally hazy activity as demonstrated, for example, by their services invading the privacy of individuals who choose to not directly use or opt-in to those services, and further, who actively *_opt-out_* of or disable them. The services themselves are not bad, but only when they have express consent of the user and are transparent about what data is being collected and how it is being used
I do not think that consensual use of google's data collecting algorithms makes google an evil company, but their express disregard for their users' right to privacy underscores a more sinister purpose for said services beyond simply providing user convenience
The point is not "google is evil right now and wants to eat your babies", but instead that a company as powerful and influential as google has the potential to become something of a villain, and their past and present history plots a concerning curve
No one read
Who's the one who gets to decide what's criminal behavior or possible criminal behavior? You people aren't seeing the big picture, no one small panel in a private company should have the power to stop the flow of information from things they don't agree with. The people themselves should be the ones tasked with finding truth, we don't need the government or their satellite mega corporations telling use what's wrong and what's correct.
For some reason google censors crime by immigrants in Europe. I tried to search for a bunch of separate incidents and then the main concept, and the only thing I got back were articles that tried to defend the immigrants on the topic.
I can't even find a single article on the 2015 Germany New Years incidents which is a very well known thing...
Damn turns out Google has a really disturbing history

Chat's reaction to this video is a good example of how lame political talk is nowadays, you can make an objectively valid point like a tech overlord being linked to shady government practices and you'll immediately get some 14yo zoomer calling you a conspiracy theorist because they heard some random from the opposing side make the same point

theres an extremely high chance your data is already sold elsewhere on a sub market, it would actually be rare for your data to still be protected and yet nothing really happened to you, and it will never, maybe some indian will try to steal your email and you'll change your password and thats all that will ever happen to you
@@wilihey1425 That's not the point though, that's only used to create targeted ads so that these companies can earn money from referrals and clicks.
The main goal of information mega corporations is to control what people think, what they see, and control how they will act. News sites do this a lot, they will only show bad things to get people riled up and want change in a certain direction.
Not even a guy. Do you think there is actually some person spying on you 24/7? It's just an algorithm. This information is not viewed by a person, that would be impossible simply due to the number of active google users.

@@KolyaUrtz He packages braindead, technologically uneducated takes into half-truths to push a narrative. Don't get me wrong, a technological monopoly of Google's scale is a bad thing, but the evidence he presented to explain that is just garbage.
An example is the Pagerank algorithm, which he describes as "secretive and mysterious". This is straight bullshit. The pagerank algorithm is incredibly well documented, and is used to keep search queries for relevant info below a few seconds when searching literal trillions of websites for information. It's why someones random new website doesn't pop up and is listed as a top search result if it's an exact match to your search, because it's more likely to not be a reliable source. This information is easily accessible with a simple search, but he won't tell you that because it doesn't fit the narrative.
