  • Welcome to our channel! Today we embark on an exciting project of crafting a table from a 200-year-old ash tree. This project promises to be an exhilarating woodworking challenge, and you'll get to see every step of creating this unique furniture masterpiece alongside us.
In the first part of our video, we'll begin by crafting the base for our table. Using a circular saw, we'll cut slats from the ash wood, about 6-7mm thick, to give our legs the desired shape. Then, we'll craft a special form to mold these legs. Using a glue, we'll start assembling our base, securing each detail with clamps. Once the glue dries, we'll join all the pieces into one cohesive unit, ready for the next stages of our project.
After that, we'll move on to crafting the main part. We'll take a slice from the 200-year-old ash tree and use a gas torch to create a fiery table. We'll heat it three times, and after each time, we'll brush off the ash (the top layer of the ash wood that burns during heating) using a metal brush. Then, we'll apply a layer of lacquer. Additionally, we'll show you how to make an "butterfly key" from aluminum, which will join the two parts of the table.
    Enjoy watching!

That was a great table project, I love the bowtie aluminium inlays, , many years ago when I used to lay up laminates like what you were doing I discovered , using a very large lorry ratchet strap to pull the wood round the form, especially when working by yourself, you can steal them put the clamps across it, to pull it up onto your form, Great idea with the legs, and the Shou Sugi Ban, then you could of done KINTSUGI.
    Great Job, 🐕‍🦺👦👴😂stay safe
