Randall i gotta tell you, you've made a hell of a bop
*fist bump*; you ought to hear my new work "Thrash"
@@randallstandridge hi, big fan of your work! i have a question, why do you worship brake drum?
@@Tewi_Inaba lolol. Yeah, I nearly always hear it in his pieces
I will agree! But as a freshie in Highschool it’s nerve racking as hell to play 😭
@@zooorf I had to do it in middle school
band director says it sounds straight out of the Incredibles, what can we say? It's nothing short of being incredible.
Woah thats uncanny
Someone in my band said the same thing, lol. That it sounded like it was from the incredibles
in my band we call it the horribles
We’re playing this and the incredibles right now. Lots of 5/4 time!
that's what i said too
When your a bass clarinet and you actually play a important part in this
Bro seriously this is new. I about had a seizure when I saw this piece. I haven't played something this hard in a while😂😂😂. I'm getting it tho
omGOD we got this piece today and i was staring at it because bass clarinets usually don’t get important parts :|
One Guy Gaming bro same here Except ima bassoon😂 when my director said to listen for bassoon at 28 I was like wow I’m important
Hell yeah!!!
hello
I will say, mr standridge has NEVER made us saxes feel unappreciated
You're Welcome. 😁
@@randallstandridgesame for percussion, thanks for actually caring about us instead of doing random eight notes 😊
The low brass part is EVIL🤟🔥🔥
AND the tenor saxophone part
And bass clarinet
@@corinsoutouras184 YESSS BASS CLARINET ON TOP BROO
1:53 me and the 30 other F horns (I wish)
PROUD TO BE A TROMBONE PLAYER FOR THIS💪💪💪
Got to play the toms part on this, ended up snapping a cheap snare stick because my director wanted me to bring out the FFF at the end 😂 By far one of my fav concert band pieces
The Toms part is so cool
Last time something hit this hard it ended ww2
I did all the cymbals (ride, crash, china, splash, etc.) for my high school the year that we played this and let me say, this song is a certified bop
OMG THATS THE PART I PLAYED BUT I PLAYED IT IN 7th it so much
funnnnn
cymbals was so fun on this!
the drum fill when it switches to 4/4 time is my favorite
my school band is doing this for New Hampshire large group, playing the trombone part is so fun, especially with the glisses
it sure is, fellow trombonist here!
3:10 comes around and all I can picture is my section senior year head-banging during rehearsal...😂😅
This song will always hold a special place in my heart, it was our last song in my middle school band. Best friends, best teacher, and best way to end it off with this song
Who are you
Do I know you?🤔🤣😆maybe...cause all I feel the same about this song
same exactly
This song was so fun to play for band! Finally a fun song for us trombones!!!
TROMBONES YEEEEAAAAAAH
YEAH GIANT TUNING SLIDE
@@Dunnoidkanymore PRETTY MUCH
i played this 4 years ago as a horn and i think it's still my favorite piece ive ever played
yup
French horn? If so, I kinda like it’s it’s just taking me a bit to get used too..
6 years for me I think it is, definitely my second favorite piece from middle school, right behind waltz no 2 by Shostakovich. Doesn’t beat Armenian Dances, Profanation, or Give Us This Day tho
This is the best song we’ve ever played in my band class. I love the sax soli!
I have that solo for my concert with my section. Wish there wasn’t two sophomores in it tho.
The one with the French Horns?
I play the tom part and it kinda looks like im having a seizure but its fun ig
We played this in a little competition in Oklahoma, we forgot our toms at our school, so we used a cardboard box, and a plastic trash can. We got a 1 and it was absolutely amazing 😂😂😂
timpani player here, the tom part literally looks SO fun
@@erinlmao6669 omg this reply just brought back so many memories,,, i was in 8th grade when i wrote this comment and im a sophomore now 😭😭😭
@@erinlmao6669 I completely feel you I'm also on timpani and my director demonstrated the toms part for us
@@jaeminsoveralls5404keep coming back
This was my marching band opener!
The Lonely Raven may i see a video of that??
This song is conducted in 5/4 so this would be incredibly hard to march
Ya boi RODGERS not really that hard with how Randall broke it down at the top of the first page with the 1231231212 1231231212
@@MaxMax-zi8ys still, I can imagine marching in mixed meter would be a nightmare
@@yaboirodgers2902Not all of it is in 5/4, just the two main sections at the beginning and end.
Played Aggressivo in 8th grade and now playing this in 10th grade (both first part trumpet). Awesome piece!
TheGymSavant literally same lmao.
How is this so specific yet so relatable
I am playing this in my 8th grade year right now with some 7th graders in my school’s top band
Aggressivo is another great song and I really enjoyed playing it
I had the cymbal part on this song. It’s more fun than you’d think
Samuel Phillips IKRRRRRR!
Cymbal gang rise UP
Same bro, I was jamming
after going through 4 randall songs in performance and scrolling through his yt i must say randall standridge is my favorite composer
Thank you, Razz!
i was 1st clarinet and my 7th grade band played this last year! i loved it. we’re playing “Thrash” this year in 8th grade, so excited!
My school is doing this for a school concert. Its pretty cool when we played it.
Randall Standridge came to my school in Palm Springs about like 2 years ago when I was in 7th grade and now I'm in 9th grade....👌💯🔥
Playing this masterpiece this year with our symphonic band and in festival, can't wait to play this energetic piece more!
Us too!! Its such a fun piece!!
I'm playing this in a concert today. I play xylophone and Tom's. Wish me luck. I'm listing to this so I don't mess up LOL I'm cryingg
Xylophone and toms? I did xylo and vibes
I played tenor sax on this in my freshman year symphonic band! I can remember rehearsing this 6 years ago like it was yesterday. Probably my favorite I played in high school.
The really scary part about this piece is that I remember being really challenged by it way back then, but revisiting my sheet music now I didn't find it difficult at all. One of those things that jumps out and reminds me that I've grown a lot since then. Gosh, I miss band.
super fun to play. lol my school played this for CMEA. the first two songs we played were slow and lengthy so the middle school kids in the audience were falling asleep but when we started to play Ruckus the woke right up haha
DANG!!!!! THEE WAY THAT TROMBONE BE LIIKE "bruuuUUUPP"
i played this with marching band and oh boy is it a whole bop
Best song ever
Fist bump
Fist bump your music is really good
My favorite song to play on my trumpet
TROMBONES UNNNNNIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTEEEEEEE
and french horns... (eewwww)
When you say "Trombones Unite", I imagine it's something like this: ruclips.net/video/tZZv5Z2Iz_s/видео.html
lol
I like making woodwinds and brass players fight because I'm a superior string player
aman bk im offended cause im a french horn
Percussion
I love this piece because a middle school band can sure play it, but so can a high school band without it being boring or flat.
This was such a fun piece to play! By far the best piece of music in high school!
I played first trumpet for this and oh boy was that challenging
Mandew Mangrove feel ya there. The section after the melody on the second page is rough
yeah after the four eighth notes when you get to syncopation its a bit high there
i had 3rd...
Randall my man! This is fire🔥 the tuba high notes are insane too
I had a full on break down because my band director told me that im playing all of percussion one (snare, high-hat and bass drum) OH BOI AM I GOING TO DIE
How is that even possible?
@@jonathanbeck7580 playing on the drumkit lmao... It was great :)
my school always plays a song every year that you composed. were playing this, this year
Where are my fellow Timpani players?
One of my favourite pieces, very well done.
Your pieces are amazing! I have like 50 of them bookmarked on my computer!
Thank you very much!
my man really just said 1:42
We’re playing this at our Musical Performance Adjudication this year! This is a really fun piece!
It’s amazing to play!
I was going to play this I. My concert as one of two first clarinets this year but the Coronavirus said not happening but this song has to be my favorite song I’d ever played!
I was blessed with being a percussionist and getting this song for band. Thank you.
I miss playing this :(
I remember hearing this a while back, and I guess I totally forgot about it until just now. This is such an awesome and very groovy piece, and I love the addition of the 5/4 time signature! Great job as usual, Mr. Standridge! :)
Thank you for making the tuba part how it is Randall!
The second half of that drum solo is just, mwah, chefs kiss.
fr this is awesome it sounds straight out of mission impossible
We have been playing this in High School Symphonic band and I am the only Trombone in the class, I feel great about this song
Playing this in my 7th grade band, so excited!
Me too
It sounds so cool :D
I just got this peice with my band and I'm really excited!
I'm a flute/piccolo player and I've got to say this is one of my fav piccolo pieces (that I've played) so far
The euphonium part is so much fun yet hard
i played this song for my high school band and I was the high hat/snare part and it was probably the most fun I had in the time I was in high school concert season
We played this as one of our songs for our 2021-2022 indoor show and got 4th at state finals
Im a tuba player, and my highschool teachers had me play this... I think its like bar 109-117 that I had to hit the highest notes in my life. It sucked... really fun piece to play though.
i play tuba too and it was really the triplets for me that were hard but i played it and had so much fun definitely one of my favorite pieces
Im about to practice and play this for a spring concert, im gonna struggle but ill try my best :] love your work ❤
My ears have been blessed 😁 welp…time to add a new favorite composer to the list.
Man I love this peice I play trombone in high-school and I love the melody you gave us and the jucy gliss
The gliss is great but playing A in 6th position and moving to first position tripped me up a little bit. Never had to play a in 6th so it was new
Had this planed for seventh grade band concert. Unfortunately, that was the year Covid hit, and we did not get to play this masterpiece.
I cant believe its been a whole year since i played this
our concert is tomorrow and this is our opener
i played this as the opener for my marching show my freshman year
Wow does this guy never miss. We've played three of his pieces so far this year in my high school's Wind Ensemble: Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in first term, Ruckus and Impact right now in third term. Every single song has been so much fun to play (especially as a Horn player, thank you for that) and composed very well 👏
Thank you, Hannah!
I played this in our district band this past year i am in 8th grade the tuba part is hard at one spot
I’m playing it as a freshman in high school.
thank you for writing big timpani parts 🙏 love to see it as a timpanist
Love the bar of 5 at the end
percussion goes hard
Love that the alto parts are actually good!!
A great song to listen to and play. The many key changes trip me up as an alto sax, but it’s fun to learn a new key change with new fingerings.
I absolutely love this song but my director is cutting it from our program 😭
Playing it for an all region concert. Sounds pretty cool. I'm hoping for the piano part and I'll upload it if it's good.
BRUH I DONT EVEN KNOW YOU BUT HI. What do you play?
Twinx1900 I play trombone hbu
Same. I'm a percussionist though, so I have to learn how to play drum set and then learn how to play the piece. I can barely play the simplest rhythms on drum set, not this complicated mess of notes on my page. Imma just die.
As it turns out, it's not actually a drum set piece, the people in charge decided to tell me that I'm actually supposed to play the snare and hi-hat. I learned the basics of drum set for nothing.
@@crystalbuck2295 lol
The Incredibles vibes anyone?
To the people listening in 2021. You are legends!!!!!!!
should’ve made the horns rip at 1:53. our director loved it when we did
I played it for dmc it was so good
My band is doing this for the San Francisco Festival of Gold
sounds perfect for video games
the toms part is so fun
I'm only and 6th grade and I play this with 7 and 8th graders and I can play this..to my surprise
When your a bari sax and have never had so many sixteenth notes in your life to play ❤❤❤
where are my clarinets🤪?
Right her
Saxophones Unite Hurrah!!!!
U sound like a fuching spedhead

remembered having a blast with this piece last yr, but i had the worst part (3rd trumpet)
THE BASS PART EATSSSS
DEVOURSSS
hehe, i played toms, thanks for giving me a good part 👍
the french horn part is diabolical, i play the horn for this peice and let me say it had its surprises but is fun nonetheless
elkton town band is playing this and its great
didn’t expect to find you here Bryce 😳
When the bassoons get to release the power of the double reed in its glorious farting bedpost might

You got a version of this with the score? I wanna suggest this to my band director for our Spring concert, this is a hella bop
Ok I'm a clarinet but the percussion breaks S L A P
That timpani part has me on my deathbed
I played it for one day, then the director assigned us parts and put me on snare/hi hat
I played it for a week in 7th grade 😭😭 then we didn't even play the song
@@Lyddie_Bug was it the covid year?
@@zanmolecules4105 no where I live the middle school and highschool do a concert for some elementary schools and the HS didn't even bring their timpani 😭😭
