Hi Allen, so will it heat the water in the tank 24/7 ?? what if the occupants are not using the hot water on regular basis, it would be a waste of energy. Dose it has a bypass where it stops heating the cylinder and provides the hot water on demand. Also, could you time the hot water as you would in standard tank setup? Also, what if you have used the entre hot water in the cylinder and you need more instantaneously.

Hi there thanks for the review. I’m searching on how to top up the pressure for the 111 model. I found your video for the 100 model. If you could advise how to do it on the 111, I would be highly appreciated. Thank you very much.
Great video. What is the main benefit of this boiler though? In my home we want to have 3 showers running at the same time (if that ever happens) without water pressure drop. Would something line this help?
Hi Alan. Great video. I’ve just had a newer version of this installed, the inside looks the same but the display is different. My boiler is making a noise 24/7 unless hot water and heating is turned off. I think this has been configured in constant mode as part of the commissioning settings and the pump for the heating circuit and / or the water is being pumped continuously. Is this possible to be turned off and only pumped when the water / heating is required? Would it need to be recommissioned (to change from constant mode) or can it be done by changing the parameters? Thanks.
Did I understand correctly that the boiler with 46 liters means that when the tap is opened in 2-3 places, hot water first begins to flow from this 46 liters, and after the end of the water in the boiler, the boiler continues to work in flow mode? That is, does the boiler store hot water all the time?
Hello Sir, Can you please show/explain how to turn the comfort mode for the Viessmann Vitodens 111-w, I have it brand new and the hot water is not pre-heated it is not enough for a shower and the documentation does not say how to turn comfort on. Regards
Love your videos, they are very good to understand the way the heating works. However they moved my Vitodens to the garage, only heating was on. Now we added pipes for hot and cold water. How do I get warm water? They told us we had to switch a valve, can't find which one . Only cold water comes out atm and when I turn on the water the heating turns on and it get's hot in the house
Trying to work out if a store combi is right for me. I'm trying to work out how to storage part works, say its 40l in the store and i have a shower at 20lpm, would the tank be empty after just a few minutes? Main selling point is the flow rate, but assuming the tank is empty what will the flow rate drop to? Thanks.
It will continue to give its same flow rate approx 18litres a minute you won’t know when the tank has been depleted as it fills its self with hot water at the same rate it goes out , Hope this helps
Hi Allen, great videos. I am looking at having an a 111-w installed along with a google nest. I understand it can be connect as standard or open-therm, which is best for this boiler? Also the videos you have done on installing google nest don't show any connections for controlling the hot water, which I think the nest can do? Whilst this is fine for a standard combi, but with the storage tank there would be times of a night and when no ones in. When I wouldn't need the 46L tank constantly kept hot. is this an option? Regards Phil.

Hi Allan, love your videos, this is definitely the boiler for me, to replace a system boiler, just a couple of things I assume the combi boiler side serves the radiators, and does that mean separate pipework from the storage side to the outlets for example hot feed to say 2 showers and 2 sinks of course mains cold feed to the showers and sinks ? And because of good litre capacity supply of how water there's no need for individual separate pumps for the showers?? Lastly would the combi heating side work OK with 10mm microbore? Kind regards Danny

Our current boiler which is a storage combi I think (ideal istor) is always very hot and heats up the top of the house too much in the summer because of where it is. Would the 111 have similar issues?
They don’t give out much heat at , no more than a normal Combination boiler, you would virtually have to stand really close to it or put your hand on the boiler to feel any heat , the storage cylinder inside is fairly well insulated against heat loss

This boiler was installed when my house was built in 2004 and is getting to an age whereby I need to start thinking about replacing it. My only concern is the flow rate of the Potterton Powermax HE is 30 l/min and the 111-w has a flow rate of 18 l/min and I'm not quite sure if I would be happy with the drop off in flow rate. When the temp falls in the tank and the tank call for heat I get a loud bang as if a solenoid is not damped on changeover. I can't see how a stepper motor can allow that to happen. Thanks for the quick reply Im getting 15 litres per minute and not really suitable for a unvented cylinder, is there 2 showers at this property and if so how did they perform simultaneously? Thanks again
Yeah true, but theres not much change from £1000 with booster sets, sometimes we are too quick to remove tanks in loft, but in property’s with more than one shower sometimes its better to stick with conventional, obviously if moneys not a issue, thanks for the advice Keep up the good work
@@leestaps A main pressure system relies on what comes down one pipe. Simple. You can make matters better by having a dedicated 22mm inlet pipe from a full bire stoptap to the combi, even if a 15mm mains supply. Tee off at a "full bore" mains stoptap taking all the cold supplies on a different line. Divide and rule. Take cold to showers off the combi inlet pipe just before the combi, as any pressure/flow fluctuations around the combi affect the hot and cold to the showers as near equal as can be. Balance the hot and cold outlets by having wondervalves on each outlet. Reduce the flow on none essential outlets like basins, dishwashers, etc. Also fit aerated shower heads like Raindance heads to reduce water consumption.

Thanks for your excellent video, really helpful. I am trying to decide between the Viessmann Vitodens 111-W and the Worcester Bosch Greenstar 8000 Life 45kW. They apparently are comparable, as they are both advertised at 18l/min at 35 temp rise. However, looking at the 111-W technical manual in page 11 viessmanndirect.co.uk/files//f6ed20c9-c436-4bc6-b2c8-aaa400f4ba95/1705%205777747VPA00004_1%20Technical%20Guide.pdf#page=11 quotes under DHW loading cylinder initial output for DHW heating from 10 to 45 °C as 200l/10min (20l/min) for the 35kW version of the Vitodens 111-W. That would make the Viessmann 111-W superior to the Bosch 8000 Life 45kW. But I wrote to Viessmann and they say "there is a flow restrictor in the boiler" that would limit to 18l/min. That was confusing. What are your thoughts? For context, I am looking into running 2 showers from the boiler and the main water flow rate is over 25l/min. Thank you very much in advance.
The day will come, mark my words, when they will be the size of a thimble. When you take the cover off and have a look inside, you will be able to hold the F A Cup Final in them. Allen can you please inform on the difference between a combi mate and a inline scale reducer thanks
Allen you still reply to comment ?
Would you place the Viessmann Vitodens ahead of the Baxi Platinum/ Duo tec ?
Baxi Platinum is a proven boiler for me over 10 years plus, Nothing will ever come close to that. This is a different type of boiler and for a different application.👍
Hi Allen. Many thanks for the video. I am looking for a boiler to replace my old floor standing Highflow 400. Should I be concerned that the stated flow rate for this is >18, whereas the Highflow 400 says 20lpm?
Does this type of Combi give better DHW flow rate or would it be the same as normal incoming cold main ?
It cannot make the mains pipe a larger bore. ;)
Hi allen
What pressure and flow rates are you getting to this install
Thanks
18 l/m @ 60 degree’s 👍
Thanks for the quick reply
Im getting 15 litres per minute and not really suitable for a unvented cylinder, is there 2 showers at this property and if so how did they perform simultaneously?
Thanks again
@@leestaps You could always boost the mains if needed.
Yeah true, but theres not much change from £1000 with booster sets, sometimes we are too quick to remove tanks in loft, but in property’s with more than one shower sometimes its better to stick with conventional, obviously if moneys not a issue, thanks for the advice
Keep up the good work

A main pressure system relies on what comes down one pipe.
Thanks i am tempted to install one these now😀😀 again great vid well explained again Allen
Amazing results. Well worth it. 👍
Cupboard fit😂 Great vid 👍🏻I did a training day in there factory a few years ago👍🏻
😂😂😂😂
Great video. I find it hard to understand your accent at times I tried Google translate but it was asking what country you are from. Are you English.
Yorkshire born, Yorkshire bred, strong in T’ arm, and .....
How can you not understand? He is very clear. Excellent vid btw
63kgs. That’s one very heavy boiler. That must take some strength to hang the boiler.
I tell you what I like about these combi boilers . There is plenty of room to get into to work on it LOL
You could sleep in it 😂😂😂
@@AllenHart999 The only reason you fit them is because you have cut your hands to ribbons on those Worcester heaps of junk . LOL . I cant wait to see on in the flesh . Great vids as normal
@@k20aa The performance from them is amazing. 👍
Brilliant video!!!
Viessmann are a great bit of kit👍
To be fair I dont fit anything else.
Which model do you normally fit? Thanks.
@@AllenHart999
I normally fit the combi vitoden 100.
No complaints here 👍
Keep up your outstanding work / videos Allen.
@@creative7530 I like the 100👍 Have you installed any 200,s
@@AllenHart999
No not yet. I have serviced afew and they are very smart.
Not sure some of the customers want to pay the extra costs. Which is a shame.
When the boiler gose rong you cilnders nakerd costing you twice the ammount i gess
Thanks for your excellent video, really helpful. I am trying to decide between the Viessmann Vitodens 111-W and the Worcester Bosch Greenstar 8000 Life 45kW. They apparently are comparable, as they are both advertised at 18l/min at 35 temp rise. However, looking at the 111-W technical manual in page 11
viessmanndirect.co.uk/files//f6ed20c9-c436-4bc6-b2c8-aaa400f4ba95/1705%205777747VPA00004_1%20Technical%20Guide.pdf#page=11
quotes under DHW loading cylinder initial output for DHW heating from 10 to 45 °C as 200l/10min (20l/min) for the 35kW version of the Vitodens 111-W.
Viessmann any day for me, I wouldn’t have a WB
ggdionisio So which one did you buy in the end of viessmann or the Worcester Bosch?
Viesmann now have the reputation that Worcester used to have before they turned poo poo
Ohh wow it’s like a little boiler in a big boiler!
The day will come, mark my words, when they will be the size of a thimble. When you take the cover off and have a look inside, you will be able to hold the F A Cup Final in them. Then they will be known as TARDIS. This will only ever happen if gas is still allowed to be used and Greta Thunberg hasn't persuaded policy makers to tax fart emissions.
Also I wish you were my gas man!
Viessmann won won won :D
