Features I like about this kit:
High Quality PCBs that were even pre-tinned.
Straight Forward design.
English Instructions.
Available, High Quality .pdf File from the Seller.
Powered by AAs, or USB power.
You can safely use both power sources at the same time.
Power Switch. This is actually a very nice feature.
A basic circuit layout that teaches how transistors and capacitors can act as a timer to create the blinking effect of the LEDs.
Santa Key Chain.
Features that could be added or improved on:
Clearer Markings on the PCBs. A big letter or number on each.
Color chart, or at least the band markings for the supplied resistors. (note, the .pdf file does have this)
At least three extra LEDS, one of each color. Mishaps do occur.
Overall, I would recommend this kit to someone who just finished their first or second soldering project. The low cost makes it easy to jump in and have a great time building a present for someone or to keep and admire yourself :)

The tricky parts were the LEDs and making sure you bridged the two parts nice and square.
