It is amazing how many plants you can get from taking cuttings, if I can ever figure out how to propagate the leaves I will have to start giving them away!
My crassulas are one of my favorite succulents! They are super easy to propagate! I think it’s funny how when yours flopped over you decided to trim them back, I’ve been waiting for mine to flop over so I can move them to a hanging basket! Haha great video as always! 👍🏼
Once I planted it upside down and the branch split at the soil level and one side grew a rosette and the other side grew roots! Try it as an experiment you might be surprised how smart these are! The single ones will grow if there is a stem in them!
I have learned so much from you and your videos . Your videos are very educational calming and i feel like your very welcoming thank you please keep sharing your videos on the many succulents . Thank you
Crassulas are my favorite too! I like to propagate them too. I recently posted Propagation video and someone recommended me your channel. Beautiful plants!
What a fascinating video! I have never grown any succulent plants, but I love them. They are so exotic with gorgeous flowers. I don't think I have seen Stacking Jade flowers. Have you ever had flowers from them? The crown cuttings arranged in a pot do look so beautiful. I love your videos, they are very informative and relaxing. I also love your cats, as I am a die-hard cat lover.
Oh my god... I have had a this plant for about 18 months now and I noticed the spots on mine as it got bigger and bigger and I was worrying about it having a disease or something... But I am SO GREATFUL that this is just what they look like!!!! Yippeeee!!! Thank you for this amazing educational video!!!
I really love watching your videos . It gives me wisdom to continue even there's a time that my succulents died it makes me sad but then it did not discourage me to make me stop . Thank you so much !!!
I think you should try planting one upside down. A branch once blew off my adult plant and grew upside down, it actually flowed! I had never seen any of my cuttings, or the adult, ever flower. I also heard a story how someone acidentally planted a cutting upside down, she had about 5 other cuttings normal way up and the upside down cutting grew twice the amount more sprouts than the other 5 cuttings! Try it. 🌱🌵🌼☺
That sounds fun. I have done that before by accident, some plants grow new crowns under the soil and roots up in the air! lol! I ended up flipping it back upright, but now I want to keep one growing upside-down, thanks for the great idea!
Mine is a kind of varigated version with pink/white rosette, which is grown under grow light. Their tops always turned crispy and dried up after several weeks. Is it because of too long light exposure or not enough water? Will appreciate your help on how to tackle this problem. Thank you so much. 😊
The leaves didn’t root because it wasn’t a clean tear. 9 out of 10 times I do the leave propagation it works. My only draw back is the lola enchievier , those I’ve only have about 5 grow from about 50 leaves
Silly question but I cant seem to find the answer so I figured I would ask. I have a few succulents that I propagated in water and they have great roots but they have been in water for over 6 months now. How do I transfer them to soil without killing them cause if their water bound roots?
I have few questions: 1. Can we try this on any other succulent? 2. Do we need to change the water, if yes, time interval? 3. Light condition? Sunlight or indoor. Ur follower from India.
Most succulents with stems, yes, but the ones with woody stems work best. Change that water, sure, but you will need to top it off so frequently that alone will keep it fresh. I grow these indoors in a sunny window.
Thanks for sharing such wonderful videos on succulents. I am new to growing succulents. So please if you can help with me to know the watering of these succulents, specially the cuttings. As you have mentioned you plant the fresh cuttings in the dry soil and water the next day, however how much do you water them? And can we do the same with leave propagation as well?
I treat them like any other succulent, watering only once the soil is dry. Same goes for the leaves, just water well to soak the soil, then let the dry out for a week or more.
Do you know what it means when crassula leaves grow in thin (like really flat rather than normal thick succulent leaves)? I just have one that I've propagated and I wanna get the chunky leaves back!
Sounds to me like they could be thirsty. Soak the soil in a basin of water until it is completely saturated every time you water. It can also be too much sun/heat, if they are in front of a sunny window, move them back a little. I hope this helps.
If the mid sections are rooting in soil but they are not forming crowns, then are they worth keeping? The top looks very dry, and I'm afraid they won't form a crown.
Hi there, I've tried the water propagation methods before. It became yellow and soggy before the roots are well developed. Is it because I'm staying in the tropics with higher humidity? And suggestions to propagate them better? Thanks.
Great video. Great to see that you can make so much from one plant. Which season would you do this? I was told my small plant Crassula perforate ssp. kougaensis. It’s the first week of autumn here and mine has started to flower. Can I propagate now?
Thanks! I would wait until they flower, but you can propagate them in any season. Summer might work best, but if they need to be pruned that is the best time to do it.
Never have, succulents love to dry out between waterings and their roots are not as wide spreading as other plants that would, I think, benefit more from a reservoir.
My sacculants aregrowing but some of them changing their col green to reddish, why? Any sac. can grow in water like it? Tell me abt the white grains in the soil. What is tea compost?
Red succulents happens in Spring because of increased sun exposure ruclips.net/video/uXoGEcMajhY/видео.html nothing to worry about :) Water propagation works well for LOTS of succulents! The white bits in the soil is perlite, for drainage.
Well.. that method didn't work either 🤔🤔..so I just stick them in the soil but it takes a long time for them to root. I bought 3 more small ones and compacted them into pot.
mine brocke not of put there is a big crack and it will breack of if i leave it like that... long story .... can i do something to like rescue it? like got it fixed betwen like pens will it just like heal or sould i really just breack it of iniarly and put that in the dirt ? (sorry for the bad english) the think is i watched the video but i am too scared thet y little one will just die on me if i like do what the person in the vid is doing

I have 2 pots with downside cuttings, they are not doing anything too crazy yet, just growing roots in the air lol. thanks for sharing your results!
Ur doing great work by helping raise interest in the plant and growing areas. Thank u! Very nice! Love ur voice and delivery.

I have lost plenty of succulents too, its never fun, but we can learn more each time. I'm glad this video could help ;) thanks for watching!

I love your videos. Thinking about getting this seculent.
Thanks! If you can find some stacking jade, I hope try some of these techniques.
Anyone else convinced this guy is "Bear" from Bear in the Big Blue House?
🤣 He definitely has a career with that voice 👍🏼
So if you cut them they branch out. Great, I am going to make a forest now
Yep, pruning them back triggers new growth like crazy!
👍👍👍
Today Iam buying this plant because of your video, Iam intend to propagate them, Iam gonna share the update, wish me luck 😉
August 11 2020
Good luck! I hope you find them as easy to grow as I do :)
Like por el hermoso gatito🥰🤗
How often do you change the water on the floating cuttings? And do you think this would work for other succulents?

Is there a follow up video of the one leaf cutting experiment yet? Got me all curious on if it worked XD
Not yet, some have rooted but most of them dried up as I forgot about them for a week or so. I will have an update soon!
👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you!
I have few questions:

Hi thank you very much for the video. Can I ask how often and how you watered the cuttings in soil when propagating?
I water only about once a week, they need to dry out between waterings, so use a small pot.
what other succulents can be grown in water? I thought that succulents didnt do well in water!!! am amazed
I have had luck with almost all of my succulents, including snake plants, Sedum, and jade.
Thanks for sharing such wonderful videos on succulents. I am new to growing succulents. So please if you can help with me to know the watering of these succulents, specially the cuttings. Does anyone know why the floating succulent doesn't get root rot?
Do you know what it means when crassula leaves grow in thin (like really flat rather than normal thick succulent leaves)? I just have one that I've propagated and I wanna get the chunky leaves back!

If the mid sections are rooting in soil but they are not forming crowns, then are they worth keeping? The top looks very dry, and I'm afraid they won't form a crown.
If they have roots it should grow new crowns soon, and if the top leaves are thin and dry it sounds like it wants more water.
What time of season should I cut?
I wonder what happened with the leaves experiment? any success?
Hi there, I've tried the water propagation methods before. It became yellow and soggy before the roots are well developed. Is it because I'm staying in the tropics with higher humidity? And suggestions to propagate them better? Thanks.
It could be the humidity. If that's the case, try gravel or perlite so the roots can breath. With all that drainage they should be good.
6 months water propagating, when's the right time to transfer in soil? Or, does this plant thrive in just water? Thank's for the informative vid 😉
Give it a Grow thanks for taking the time to reply! I was inspired by your video but worried early autumn was not a good time. Thanks again 😊
Красота! Только жаль, что ролик не сопровождается переводом на русский язык, но всё равно понятно. Спасибо! 👍👍👍
Great video🌹Do you sell your cuttings? I would love some❤
Nope, but I will keep that in mind. Thanks. These are Crassula perforata if you really want them :)
Hi- wondering what your watering schedule was? Is it the same as for your rooted plants?
You can water them slightly more than frequently than normal to promote root growth.
If you have been propagating them in water, do you adjust them to the soil by watering them a ton in the beginning and slowly reducing the amount?
I water them like a normal succulent, letting them dry out between deep waterings.
@@GiveitaGrow Thank you!
I heard these plants are dormant in the summer, is that correct?
Not from what I can tell, they grow year round for me :)
I love your music choice! Do you have the name of the composition?
The name of the song is always in the description of the video :)
Thanks! You're an adorable plant dad.
🎈♥️
🌵👍
What is the white thing on the base? Like bubbles?
The water cutting is suspended with Styrofoam, just to keep it upright.
Can this be a hanging plant?
what's kind of soil that's , sir..
Do you use any sort of plant food?
Yes, about once a month I will give them compost tea or a mild liquid fertilizer.
Have you ever used Ollas with succulents? I am only able to water every 2 months
Never have, succulents love to dry out between waterings and their roots are not as wide spreading as other plants that would, I think, benefit more from a reservoir.
Does the cuttings grow better in soil propagation? or in water? Which one do you prefer?
I do prefer soil because it is one less time you have to transplant them, but both work great for most my succulents.
@@GiveitaGrow thanks a lot.itwill help me. Is teacompost dried used tea leaves?
So you water the crowns and stems before they have roots? Every site I go to says something different :(
To be safe you can let them heal for a day, but I found them to be tough enough to water on day one.
WHERE CAN I BUY THIS PLANT?
Can this be grown in full shade?
Full shade outdoors perhaps, but I keep these in the sunniest window in the house.
Give it a Grow ok. Thanks for replying!
I wouldn't mind taking some of those cuttings off your hands :P
The soil method didn't work fir me. I'm going to try the water method.
Well.. that method didn't work either 🤔🤔..so I just stick them in the soil but it takes a long time for them to root. I bought 3 more small ones and compacted them into pot.

If the stem is broken, plant it like a cutting and it should send out new roots. I hope that helps

So many succulents to love
Please plant name . and How to online purchase .
Crassula perforata, also known as stacking jade or string of buttons.
Mine grow crooked
If the stems and leaves look thin, they may be reaching for more sunlight. More sun should get them to grow vertically and symmetrical.
Imagine if you put liquid succulent/cactus food in the floating succulent plant!
Hydroponic succulents :) lol
never heard anybody say heighth before and it’s all i could focus on the whole the video
.

There should be some benefit to us humans from those miraculous stem cells, they become roots or crowns at will
Please maye the video in spanish
I dont speak Spanish well enough. Try closed captions (subtitles)

Ouch You just broke a lot of lovely plants that you could’ve propagated if not yanking them off like that
Hi if you want to donate your cuttings, i am willing to accept 🤣
Me too - geaography problem though 🙂
