This product didn't work for my hair. I tried it a few months back. I recently did my first successful wash n go with your video about leave in conditioner and eco styler gel. My first successful wash n go thus far. I keep hearing that sometimes our hair change due to hormones and products may or may not work because of that and the hormones effects and/or changes our hair. I'm no expert but that's what I keep hearing. I have been trying for a long time to get a successful wash n go and I finally accomplish that. For that I can say THANK YOU! Love your videos!

I think it may be your leave in. I'm very heavy handed with this product and never any white gunk this gel actually defined my entire head very well. I love it for twist outa too Smoothing the cuticle down with my fingers for 2-3 mins per section really helped it penetrate

+Fine Natural Hair and Faith Yep, I agree. I continued to use this product for several months.

The curl maker definitely will give you jelly balls. It doesn’t play well with other products or an over application of itself. I also have the absorption problem in the low porosity areas and definition. My go to is the AsIAm Curling jelly and a little eco styler if I refresh later.
I’ll still use Camille Rose, love most of the products.

I tried this product as well. I used it for a month and it was great, then I started to see residue/flaking. It's weir gelatinous flakes that are hard to get out. I gave it away.

davis1035 Wow. Thanks for sharing. Do you recall if you did anything differently as far as combination with other products? Were you co-washing or using shampoo to wash your hair? How often did you wash your hair during the month?

I have the same kind of low porosity patch in the back! We are like hair twins! Love your videos.

Great video! Its crazy how you and I have the same problem areas. If im doing 4 sections- I have to separate the areas over my ears and my crown and work the product in- super soaking wet hair helps. I have low porosity hair but especially in the front and crown

Thank you, for your honest and through review. I have low porosity hair. It seems to me that all products I use sit on top of my hair. I find this very annoying, I just wash my hair in hot water quickly put a product in let my hair air dry.

purlplens The difference between the first and second time I applied Camille Rose was I used a hooded steamer and got better results. Do you steam your hair? If not, I encourage you to invest in a steamer. If your whole head is low porosity you will love sitting under a hooded steamer and will see a huge difference with your hair's ability to absorb moisture (water and products).

I have low porosity hair and I used it for my wash and go. I used it without a leave in and it absorbed. My hair is fine, low porosity and medium density.

Thank you I will try a hooded steamer

I wash once a week and hardly ever co-wash (I see more product build-up, acne, and flakes when I co-wash). At the time I was using crème of nature moisture shampoo, their perfect 7 leave in, and darcy's botanicals vanilla bean curly cream. When I started to see flakes I thought maybe it was the darcy's cream, so I went out and bought the Camille rose leave in cream, but the smell was like cake batter and it lingered. ultimately, I believe that it has something to do with the protein (I think its wheat) in the curl maker, my hair does not need that much protein.

davis1035 So good to know you were able to narrow down what combination of products you were using. I will monitor the use of this product. I have used it 3 times now, but not back to back. I am doing some different things with my hair in 2015. Whenever I notice something is off I return to the basics. I will be sure to update on my channel if I discover residue build up and flaking with this product. Thank you so much for sharing.

I do sit under my steamer and it helps with those areas- but over my ears still is tough. I just have to use alot of gel and smooth it on from root to tip and hope for the best. When I used camille rose it didnt do so well in those areas- especially above my ears. I added my wetline extreme over those because I wasn't redoing my hair for 5 days. Lol. I love my steamer tho. Do u use a steamer?

***** I starting using a hooded steamer a month ago...just when I did my wash n go with Camille Rose the second time. It was the main contributing factor for my hair absorbing the product. I feel you though, right above the ears is a tough spot because it would be harder to isolate with the hand held steamer. Good to hear the wetline extreme works as an alternate to redo, lol. :-)

Did you figure out how to get the product to absorb in the low porosity part of your hair? I am thinking of trying out this product and replacing my beloved eco-styler argan oil with it.

Abena, when you say your steamer helps products absorb better in your hair do you put the gel on then sit under the steamer ?

I have low porosity hair and I have tried it a couple of times and it always dry sticky. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I love Uncle funky's daughter curly magic but I would love to use this gel too. What should I do?

+Embrace Natural Beauty I really appreciate you replying, forgive me I should've been more clearer. What products or leave in did you use before applying the Camille Rose?
I gave it try and it looked nothing like your hair or my hair when I use Eco Styler argan oil. With Eco Styel hair looks exactly like yours. I'm not sure what I did wrong.
