      sparky107107 Yeah! Stop back in soon because we'll have trains running in no time. And I'm glad you like the design. It seemed to simple at first, but I like it. Thanks!

    Thanks for sharing your ideas on the the fold down bridge. I am planning a new layout and I will need either a lift out bridge or a fold down bridge. I will be looking forward to the video to see what method you will use to wire the tracks on the bridge. You have given me a lot to think about!

    I'm designing a new layout in 00. I'm thinking about doing something similar to this. But instead of being a drop down section. I'm thinking about it being a swigging section due to that there is going to be four lines of track

      If I ever need to do a layout entrance gate again, I think I'll do what you're planning. The swing bridge is much more elegant.

    You sure do like building things with angles. I hope it works out with no issues.

      Scott Downey I know! Actually, it's quite painful, but so far it's all working. It's amazing anything has worked because the saw we're using likes to cut everything at like a 1º angle when it's set to an angle of 0. I mean, it's a really nice saw, but it's annoying at times.

    Excellent job there Cam, really like the drop bridge. Your dog seems to be a big help there, is it a young dog? Sure is pretty. Thanks again for sharing!

      David Durbin Thanks! I like the way it turned out. Haha. She was quite the help. At one point she was sleeping under the drop bridge while we were constructing it. And yes. She's fairly young at 4 years old. She's actually a golden retriever, but she's very light colored w/fairly short hair.

    Nice so far Cam , Mike

      ***** Thanks Mike! We'll definitely have a follow up showing this in a more finished state because we still need to install some guides on the locking end so there's no side-to-side motion. And of course we need to talk about electrical.

    You do not need a locking bracket.A piece of 3/4 inch Mdf With a washer and strong screw.or coach bolt.With enough slack.So as it can be turned out to support the shelfYou can put as many as required for a small price..If in time after wear it needs a packer.You can use formica or a bit of tape.Also there are better ways of supporting a shelf than putting a piece of 2 by 1 as to make a gallows bracket.

    Well good idea BUT it don't work be cause I did some way and after all I have make to lift Bridge
    work much better and train don't jump out from track
    Nice Job any way thumbs up

    • @railfan220
      @railfan220  9 лет назад

      woltar9 The only problem with a lift bride there is that we'll have another level above it. The bridge is close to 30" long, so it wouldn't be able to swing all the way up. The other option would've been a swing bridge, but this created the least amount of disruption in the aisle way. Thanks for the input though!
