Reason why there were so many Knicks fans in Philly is because tickets at the Garden are so Damm high! It's cheaper to watch them in Philadelphia play then in NYC.

It's also just not that far, I'm from a part of the Jersey Shore that's about the same distance from New York and Philly, and a lot of New Jersey is like that, being New York sports fans.

When I went to a Knicks preseason game a couple of years ago, I swear the fans had energy like it was a playoffs game. They are definitely a top tier fanbase.

@@jessesparks8307 The only credence to that argument is the fact the Knicks do space better with Randle off the floor. However, the Knicks would be WAY better with Randle in the lineup right now. Dude is the Knicks' second best offensive player and it's not remotely close and adds a level of aggression to the roster other players don't have. They'd probably have swept Philly already if Randle were playing, cause when Brunson is off, Randle has been there to pick up the slack. I think the whole postseason stuff with him is also a myth, his first postseason he had to do a lot of carrying for a trash roster, while last season he played massively injured the entire time. Even with their 3-1 series lead, Randle would add a lot of what the Knicks' current postseason roster lacks: offensive firepower beyond JB and ferocity.
@MrRapmaster19 same people trashing Randle think Melo was a legend in NY when Melo was shooting 37% and only won 1 playoff series his entire career in NY. The man had only 7 playoff wins here.

I'm a Philly fan through and through, love my Eagles and Sixers , phillies , and flyers, and Villanova wildcats..... I will give props to my Villinova big three Brunson, Josh Hart , and Devinchiso. So proud when we defeated North Carolina for the National championship with Micheal Jordon at courtside. Will never forget that. Truly proud of the Philly Nova crew.....

Feels kinda like the Knicks are having a similar season to that of the Detroit Lions in the NFL. They’re a team that preaches hustle, and have rose to relevancy with a starving fanbase behind them.

I'm a 90's kid and all my life I've associated the Knicks with Patrick Ewing. If Jalen Brunson takes the Knicks all the way to the Finals and somehow wins their first chip since 73, he'll maybe usurp Ewing in my mind when I think about them. That is so surreal to me. But this happens throughout history. When David Robinson and Tim Duncan won the Spurs first title, probably people associated the team with George Gervin before then.

I remember during the 1999 playoffs, we played Atlanta in the second round. That arena was at LEAST 40% Knicks fans. There was even a sizeable contingent of Knick fans for the Indiana series. When the team is certifiably GOOD, Knick fans will most definitely travel, no matter the state.
An Amtrak trip between New York and Philly is only 90 minutes. Tickets at Madison Square Garden are so expensive that it is cheaper for Knicks fans to get a ticket in Philly buy a round-trip train ticket then to go to MSG.

These Knicks really remind me of the 90s knicks, I know they don't have a dominant big man like Pat Ewing was, but the scrappiness of the team as a whole, the defensive edge, flying around all over the place, the hustle, it's just great to see man. The NBA is better when the NY Knicks are a relevant, competitive team. I firmly believe that.
The cost of Knicks' tickets is ridiculous. The Sixers' tickets are far cheaper, so it made sense for the New York fans to make that short trip to Philly to support the team.
