Don king wasn't the whole story, and the 80s is way more than any promoter, especially with all those great fighters. The promoters are rightfully forgotten, as the fighters were one of a kind. 70s and 80s hands down was the golden ages. 90s was watered down already, and before the 60s boxing was very behind in technique unless your talking about the best legends which would a handful of fighters that you can count on your hand.

I knew Rosario, I have family in his hometown and I started training in his gym ( Manny Siaca) and I watched the fight like 20 times and Saw Hector winning every time. Chapo looked good when he connected those two rounds. Even Chavez said every punch Rosario landed felt like he was getting hit with a baseball bat and still he lost that one too. Camacho chickened out after that fight. I remembered Chapo’s absences from the gym and then fight and he made weight because cocaine had him skinny, no training whatsoever.

Yes but not because Camacho was damaged, it was because he lost confidence and started fighting without risking. Cocaine addiction was a factor in both fighters. After Rosario’s last fight (by KO) he was clean and went out on his neighborhood wearing a suit, sold one of his championship belts that he had as a collection and smoked crack and his lungs filled with water and died.
