Frosty Shark aside from Kobe’s injuries(I’m mentioning the major ones like knee and Achilles) he still a outstanding career. Many people exclude his last few seasons other than the 60 point game cause of his decline. What I’m saying is that he is still a one of the greatest and closest to Jordan in comparison even with the injuries
MindOfKyle he’s the closest to Jordan, I never understood why people always compare LeBron to Jordan when Kobe is the closest to MJ. He literally copied all of MJ’s moves even how he walks
This is a tremendously stupid argument. Whether or not Jordan is the GOAT (and he very well might be), "everyone wanna be like Mike" because they grew up with Mike as the best player at the time, because Jordan had incredible marketing behind him, and- unlike Wilt or Bill- Jordan isn't over 7 feet tall.
If you judge on the first 5 years alone, Grant Hill is one of the greatest ever. It's too bad injuries plagued his career. Not only was he a tremendous player, but also a decent human being and good role model.
Although, Michael Jordan would “turn on” the aggression when driving to the hoop, it was Jordan’s ability to be graceful while playing that made him magnetic! Watching Michael dribbling the ball, while jogging towards the hoop...., then picking a spot on the court to leap into the air (appearing to be flying), was PURELY GRACEFUL!! That’s another attribute the other players mentioned in this video lacks. Jordan’s movements on the court was poetry-in-motion....., something the others tried to emulate but, failed to do. Either, you’re “naturally” Graceful or, you’re not.
I'm glad you said that a lot of people miss the artistry of his game to me that's why he's the greatest it's just beautiful him doing anything on the court even just dribbling the ball
@@whiskeySe7en I agree, regarding the practicing time Michael Jordan put into his game. However, Michael is “naturally gifted” for the game of basketball from the beginning. It’s widely known that Michael had an extreme growth spurt during his later high school years, which helped to elevate (no pun intended) his natural abilities to flow (seemingly) effortlessly. Couple Michael’s drive to work at his craft, with his “natural” gifts kicking in…, you get the “GOAT” Jordan is known as today. Hard work alone will NOT put anyone at the level of Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali, Tiger Woods, Wayne Gretzky, Kobe Bryant, Steph Curry, Bruce Lee, etcetera. You need the ‘Natural Gift’……, supported by a fearless work ethic!
Only kobe is close to jordan no other than that . His styles , the scoring ability , shooting form, even his fadeaway shots is very similar to jordan .
@Goatbe Bryant That's a team effort. I'm talking about dominance of the game, your finals record doesn't reflect how dominant you are. Basically you saying an early playoffs lost is better than reaching the finals.
@Goatbe Bryant "Especially playing in the weak eastern conference" how is that even relevant to his finals record where he has to face the best west conference team?
@Goatbe Bryant So that just proves my point that you believe a early playoff L is better than reaching the finals... I would love to see Kobe taking the 07 Cavs to the finals or beating the Celtics in 2018.
Foreal, especially considering a rookie Zion scored what 17 points in a 3 minute span in his first ever game THIS season. Torched should be held higher
Jimmy: we don’t say “the new Jordan” anymore Also Jimmy: Luka Doncic is the new Michael Jordan Edit: since no one gets it jimmy was talking about greatness not skillset
Brady Brown doncic is not even remotely the same player, but not saying I agree with this... but you could say “Luka doncic is the new goat” To be the next micheal Jordan I think you gotta have the same style of basketball
the reality is this: empty, mainstream, sensational media can make or break a professional athlete's career. and it is the bane of our modern existence. i say this as a former journalist.
True but it comes with the territory. A player can respond in one of two ways: accept the challenge or be crushed by it. Kobe actively wanted to become MJ, which I think is the best way to handle the inevitable. One must embrace the Strife.
Good thing though that Hill played 18 years in the NBA and was a 7 time All Star and still was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame. Granted those injuries kept him from having a even better career and being mentioned as one of the greatest.
Not sure If you will Ever see this comment Jimmy. But Thank You. Your voice, your vocabulary, and the way you tell stories actually got me hooked. I’ve NEVER cared for the NBA. But after watching Tons of your videos Religiously. I actually got into the game, and couldn’t be happier. I wish you had came into my life sooner. I will be forever grateful.
And Michael still had to show him who is the boss. Michael could be the goat but he is literally as stubborn as an Ox. Why do you have to show him who is the boss
"I don't have to do this..im only doin it because It is who I am. That's how I played the game. It is my mentality. If you don't wanna play that way don't play that way....BREAK" 🥺- Michael Jordan

I don't even get why anyone would buy into that. As there are a slew of negatives that come with that. But most folk would rather get attention and live for hype than realize and accept what's lurking if they choosr to fall prey.
He literally had a switch in him that he just flicked and it was over for anyone. The stories are all the same... You never ever hear these anecdotes from other players about anyone else other than MJ's....
he was making the point that in today's view, "the next Michael Jordan" is synonymous with "the next GOAT" - as opposed to back in the day when that phrase suggested a similar play style with MJ
Did Allen Iverson ever called the next MJ? I think it doesn't really matter, it is all dependent on the player, of how good they can become. Either you have it or ya don't. Kobe was always called the next MJ, and he lived up to his comparison. I guess if you don't really have the talent and being called the next MJ can really shrink ya badly.
Its a blessing to have his whole carreer on paper, pencil and tape for those who come behind and want to put in the "berserk" mode on the court, thanks Jxmy for the pure gold, best regards from overseas, o7.
7:27 Harold Miner: Oh he's gonna think this is cool when I use his move. Maybe he'll respect me if I score on it too! *MJ* : I took that personal, so i had to kill him and his career.
This is why MJ is the GOAT. When he is faced with adversity he turns the heat UP not down. He thrives when he is challenged. Even Lebron buckled under the pressure in the 2011 finals. MJ never choked in his prime.
I was oddly obsessed with Harold Miner as a kid. I don't know why but he was who I picked in NBA Jam and he became my favorite player. So much so I made my immigrant parents look everywhere to find and buy his jersey for me. I'm sure they didn't understand it or want to spend that much money as I was still growing, but they did and I recently found a picture of me as a kid wearing it. This video hit home for me.

Kobe the goat imo
MindOfKyle he’s the closest to Jordan, I never understood why people always compare LeBron to Jordan when Kobe is the closest to MJ. He literally copied all of MJ’s moves even how he walks
This is a tremendously stupid argument. Whether or not Jordan is the GOAT (and he very well might be), "everyone wanna be like Mike" because they grew up with Mike as the best player at the time, because Jordan had incredible marketing behind him, and- unlike Wilt or Bill- Jordan isn't over 7 feet tall.
There are a lot of soccer players that want to be the next LeBron, just watch them fall over from phantom fouls.
Jordan mode is like the 9th gear on a race car while everyone else only has 5.
Right! And Kobe probably had 7 gears if were comparing. Which we are. Lol
Easy E its like takeover in 2k but every attribute is multiplied by 10
he got turbo charged hemi too

They are all sport cars but only Jordan seems to have the nitrouos boost.

All them highlights miner is never guarding him...cut it out
If you judge on the first 5 years alone, Grant Hill is one of the greatest ever. It's too bad injuries plagued his career. Not only was he a tremendous player, but also a decent human being and good role model.
Who remembers before all the like-fishing comments talking about missing trap sax and not being in quarantine.
Rip trap sax

#Grace
Amen
I'm glad you said that a lot of people miss the artistry of his game to me that's why he's the greatest it's just beautiful him doing anything on the court even just dribbling the ball
Nothing natural about Jordan. He practised everything for 10 000 hours
@@whiskeySe7en
I agree, regarding the practicing time Michael Jordan put into his game.
He was close in terms of play style but in term of dominance and stats Lebron way closer in my opinion.
They're even punching teammates. Kobe is 98% Jordan. The other 2% is divided between Jordan's gambling addiction and baseball career.
There will only be ONE. Michael Jordan, EVER. RIP, Kobe
The word “torched” shouldn’t be used to describe a 10 point half
Foreal, especially considering a rookie Zion scored what 17 points in a 3 minute span in his first ever game THIS season. Torched should be held higher
Og Loc Zion low key like young LeBron and young Shaq than Jordan
Against a pretty good defensive bulls team and going up against Jordan as a rookie? I think that’s a pretty respectable amount
4 quarters
@@ogloc4478 And then there was Reggie Miller's 8 points in 9 seconds against New York in 95 playoffs.
Jimmy: we don’t say “the new Jordan” anymore
Also Jimmy: Luka Doncic is the new Michael Jordan
Edit: since no one gets it jimmy was talking about greatness not skillset
Brady Brown doncic is not even remotely the same player, but not saying I agree with this... but you could say “Luka doncic is the new goat”
To be the next micheal Jordan I think you gotta have the same style of basketball
Not to mention I feel like I’ve heard the next Lebron more😭 Niggas called Miles Bridges the next Lebron🤦🏽♂️😭
Police Bear I know it’s what jimmy said
@@policebear9347 agreed Luka is a better larry legend, and I firmly believe that he when it's all set and done is going to be the goat

Jxmy you tell these stories so well!!! Love your work.
the reality is this: empty, mainstream, sensational media can make or break a professional athlete's career. and it is the bane of our modern existence. i say this as a former journalist.

I think the bane of our modern existence is people dying everyday to poverty but yeah sure, sport sensationalism is up there too
True but it comes with the territory. A player can respond in one of two ways: accept the challenge or be crushed by it. Kobe actively wanted to become MJ, which I think is the best way to handle the inevitable. One must embrace the Strife.
If Grant Hill wouldn’t of had the injury he would of had a much more epic career.....
That goes double for Derick Rose...
Yup Penny Hardaway and Grant Hill were dominant when they were healthy.
J.D Manases Facts. The guy was the real deal. It’s a shame that happened to him
Grant Hill, Penny Hardaway, Tracy McGrady, Brandon Roy, Derrick Rose.
An MVP and four possible MVPs in their prime 😔
Good thing though that Hill played 18 years in the NBA and was a 7 time All Star and still was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame. Granted those injuries kept him from having a even better career and being mentioned as one of the greatest.
There will never be another MJ
@The R. the hell
The R. 35 years from now we’ll all be dead from the Coronavirus.

I feel kinda bad for Harold. Especially when dude said he still had a picture of MJ in his room at his ma's house
thats all i thought about tbh
Makes me think of the Dexters Lab Action hank "I have failed you" meme 😂😭
And Michael still had to show him who is the boss. Michael could be the goat but he is literally as stubborn as an Ox.
Why do you have to show him who is the boss
He tells basketball... Like a scary story and i love it ✊🏽💯🔥❤
Jordan said, “I’m about to end this man’s whole career.”
Kobe is definitely the closest to Jordan, almost the entire universe knows that by now and it's been like that for a very long time.
"So, you think he's the next me?
Ok, fine. Imma show you he's not."
*it was not fine*
@@Loreurka It definitely wasnt
You know somethings coming when jimmy pulled the "what could possible go wrong?"
"I don't have to do this..im only doin it because It is who I am. That's how I played the game. It is my mentality. If you don't wanna play that way don't play that way....BREAK" 🥺- Michael Jordan
Just ask Siri “who is Harold Miner?” And read the last sentence! 😂😂
Gabriella Moultrie 👀 😂

Gabriella Moultrie 4 years😪
I guess Miner had better college numbers but Michael took him to graduate school.
i dont think this is talked ab enough... jxmy has some of the best editing out there.
and he still makes so many videos
Right! I was actually wondering which editing software he uses.
Anybody can learn how to edit even a little child. It's not too difficult if you dedicate your life to it.
Man Like Zi probably Sony Vegas or final cut
Dan Shazam85 get yo hating ass tf out of here, anything is easy if you dedicate your life to it peon 🤨 plus can you edit as good as him? Didn’t fucking think do
I remember him. It’s always exciting to see a new player anointed as the the next Jordan. They all fall short, but it’s still fun to watch.
I don't even get why anyone would buy into that. As there are a slew of negatives that come with that. But most folk would rather get attention and live for hype than realize and accept what's lurking if they choosr to fall prey.
"Why'd you hurt him Michael, he's a MINOR!"
I think Jimmy deserves to have his own show or at least narrate a basketball documentary, he has a nice voice for it and knows a ton

It is in his DNA .lol
That’s what I was thinking. When did anyone say that
he was making the point that in today's view, "the next Michael Jordan" is synonymous with "the next GOAT" - as opposed to back in the day when that phrase suggested a similar play style with MJ
Jason Papa Ik but still no one said that curry would be the next goat started to late in his career
Cause he is.......with a sheepish smile
I feel like calling anyone “the next mj” early in their career is a death sentence
it is, just as you said .
They said the same thing about Carter however he played for a long time but was no where near Jordan ability.
The definition of “had us in the first half ngl”
Literally😂
Its a blessing to have his whole carreer on paper, pencil and tape for those who come behind and want to put in the "berserk" mode on the court, thanks Jxmy for the pure gold, best regards from overseas, o7.

MJ is the player which basketball greatness is measured!!!!!
I remember when Harold Miner was a rookie, everyone thought he was the next MJ, especially after winning the slam dunk contest
What Mike wants to happen in a game, will damn near always happen.
This is why MJ is the GOAT. When he is faced with adversity he turns the heat UP not down. He thrives when he is challenged. Even Lebron buckled under the pressure in the 2011 finals. MJ never choked in his prime.
2016 all i gotta say.
He isn't defeated when you beat him, he is defeated when you retire him.

This video hit home for me.
harold miner done nothing but a big 2 hand slam dunk...literally nothing else.
