nice, good luck with the sales this weekend on CAL Carl. Thanks for sharing in advance. In my past experiences it's a good show if you price aggressively to sell versus if you price to sit on the pieces. Sell a few and hopefully pick up a few type thing for me, usually! Using the hobby to fund itself is one of my core principles of collecting longterm on both books and art. I'm putting up all affordable (nothing over $1k) pieces in my for sale gallery this weekend but don't have any expectations.
Thanks Kavi! Yeah, I’m all about letting the collection fund the collection as much as possible which is why I tend to have a viewpoint of much of my collection being fluid. Of course the more I do this, the more I fill my collection with pieces that are increasingly tougher to let go of, but it’s all part of the process! I definitely don’t expect to move everything this weekend but if I can make a few sales, I’ll be more than happy! Best of luck to you as well!!

This is a great way to showcase what you have available, because it allows collectors to get inside your head and understand why you bought the pieces in the first place, but also why you're willing to part with them now. Best of luck this weekend, Carl. I'll be doing a review of the event on my show this Sunday, basically hoping to hear feedback from people who exhibited as well as people who were just looking to buy stuff. So if you have time, drop on by so we can get your feedback!
Thanks Rubén! I find it that sometimes, in some ways selling is bad word when in reality it’s just part of the journey. Doesn’t mean I don’t like the art anymore, just helps to replenish the war chest once in awhile! Figured I’d share this part of the process too, it can’t always be about buying!
Wish I had the time to watch this prior to CAL. Good to see you expressing your Eddy & Eber love. Curios as to if anything sold prior to CAL and what you have left.
This was a really cool walk through some great pieces and hearing both what about it spoke to you in the first place and why it doesn't fit into your collection goals now. Good luck with the show this week, hope some of these sell. On your point about reading the relationship between Bruce and Alfred differently as a parent, that was also my experience reading Starman by James Robinson/Tony Harris. Very different reading a book so predicated on the idea of legacies after having kids than before
Thanks B! Figured it was a good look at the process of curating. Sometimes that means letting go of pieces you love! And yeah, parenting, it just changes so much about your brain works and how you perceive the world! Very eye opening!! Full disclosure, and it’s a wrong I’ve long meant to right…I haven’t read that Starman run. 🤦♂️
Nice selection! Good luck with the sales this weekend!
Thanks Rick! Figured it’s a good opportunity to give it a shot & see what happens!
Great idea and overview preview Carl
Thanks CJ! Figured I share why I buy things, so why not share why I might sell things! 🤷🏻♂️

Hi Lee! Thanks for watching! Just sent you a message via FB, will likely be easier to tell you what is available there. 👍
