I’m sorry… I mean no disrespect but that was straight up stupid. Anyone with a bit of common sense knows that a plastic utility car cannot sustain the weight of an entire engine and transmission. I hope no major damage took place.
I enjoyed watching the disassembly. I was imagining a repaint in green and how cool it would look all cleaned up... Then yikes, what a way to end the video. It appears that nobody was hurt, so that's good.
Glad that no one was hurt. Wow, I have one of those carts but I use it to move computers. Next time I have an engine in my office I'll know better than to use the cart to move it. ;)
It looked like a slow controlled fall, once that engine touched the cart this was its only path. Wish I could say I never had a similar adventure. What a great sister.
Re coolant - Doesn’t matter whether it gets cold or not. Antifreeze also changes the boiling point of your coolant mix. Straight water is going to turn to steam inside the engine when it gets hot. An engine full of steam is going to get damaged very very quickly. Also antifreeze has chemicals to stop the engine rusting internally. As with everything else in life, some people always think they know better.
Sorry but that was really stupid to use a plastic trolley as a engine stand. Even shortly before the collapse you still didn’t realise what will happen and continued lowering the engine. This is a mystery to a lot of us. No sorrow
Video got cutoff when the most interesting thing happened, lol) yeah, this looked dicey af from the get go. HF sells hydraulic carts or whatever these things are called. Should have used that
Hey Nathan.... I have an issue... I have a 2000 996 owner it for 13 years not many issues. but in nice shape until now. so I have done some work my self on cars...engines replacements but I'm not a pro. Now with the 996. I have replace trans, waterpump and airoil separator. about 5 years ago ...since car ran amazing until my timing chain just failed a month ago. car has 175K.. is it worth replacing engine 3.4? I'm not sure what to do....I know used engines are still 8k...I was thinking of doing it myself..or trying... Lol. or is it possible that the damage is minimal? what are your thoughts
Nathan you are a wild man using a plastic cart to support that engine drop ..What did you think was going to happen ?? Seeing that cart starting to flex under the weight was better than watching a good horror movie and waiting for Jason to jump out of the closet !! Main thing was no one got hurt ! Carry on !!
Man I wish I knew you were going to remove the motor I would of told you how to do it you need to make a metal cart and use 2x4 about 5 feet to rest the headers onto it I can do it in 30mins have the tranny and engine dropped with out removing the bumper and all that stuff.
Well the cart was rated at 750lbs, the engine was 440 plus the trans at about 144lbs we should have been totally fine, but apparently chinese pounds the cart must have rated in are different
If anyone needs a rebuild stay clear of nein lives from eBay out of LA area . Mine lasted 1700 miles .won’t honer warranty. Caleb & Peter professional scum bags
I wouldn’t trust this guy with a wheel barrow after watching this! Now I know what I do cars meant about this guy considering he bought it from you and has had to redo everything you done. This guy is a cowboy I wouldn’t even find this funny imagine if it was one of you guys cars he done this too? Clearly he’s meant to be a ‘Porsche expert’ so you would expect him to know what to do.
Why not just lower the car to the ground and lift the car off the engine? Would have been easier and prevented that even without you having the right stuff smh. Those carts are only good for like 500lbs spread across it evenly at most and that engine assembly is north of 680lbs with it concentrated on the side of the cart during the removal, and when falling out it was flexing it sideways too

Hoovie’s Garage is now the *second* dumbest automotive channel on RUclips.
Well….I guess now we get to find out what happens when you do a 36 inch drop test with a whole damned engine. Isn’t the internet grand?
Well Nathan, one thing is for sure. You will never do that again 🤣
I enjoyed watching the disassembly. I was imagining a repaint in green and how cool it would look all cleaned up... Then yikes, what a way to end the video. It appears that nobody was hurt, so that's good.
Well the cart was fatally injured during this video lol
thx for the videos!
Oh boy!Shop carts ain’t what they used to be!!
Glad that no one was hurt. Wow, I have one of those carts but I use it to move computers. Next time I have an engine in my office I'll know better than to use the cart to move it. ;)
Love that colour!
I had an defective oil cooler once that put oil in the antifreeze. Just throwing that out there. Keep plugging away. You'll get it.
What an ending!!!
It looked like a slow controlled fall, once that engine touched the cart this was its only path. Wish I could say I never had a similar adventure. What a great sister.
Nooooooo!!! I felt that! Hope everyone is ok and that engine is still good to go back!! Stay safe
Its all good
Love the longer videos. More "how to" videos, please.
At least we weren’t left with a cliffhanger, (will it or won’t it ,find out in the next instalment of…..)😳Great channel 👍😎
Awesome channel. Keeping it real. :)

Wrong. Most race cars are running straight water in their cooling systems.
Oh man, I need a drink.... pheeew what a bang :-)
Do you catalog or put all bolts, nuts, etc in a carton or bag to know where they came from?
Sorry but that was really stupid to use a plastic trolley as a engine stand. Even shortly before the collapse you still didn’t realise what will happen and continued lowering the engine. This is a mystery to a lot of us. No sorrow
Love the channel and I know you have a ton of experience, but even I could've told you that utility cart wasn't gonna hold that engine.
Video got cutoff when the most interesting thing happened, lol) yeah, this looked dicey af from the get go. HF sells hydraulic carts or whatever these things are called. Should have used that
Oh Amanda... now I know. Nice to see you too ... inneresting like Nathan always says :)
I was waiting for that cart to collapse. Hope the engine block is not damaged!

What reasonable guy keeps lifting the car when you see the wagon legs flexing by the engine weight like that.
The lifting of the car at that point was irrelevant. The weight was already on the cart. the lifting was only getting the car out of the way.
I have 3 sisters, love when they step in to help~~!
I hear some cracking…….👌🏼
Right there withya.
Schtuff happens!
Happy Day!
Ouch, how many hours did it take to get the engine out? I meant droppedddd!
the definition of a backyard mechanic...

I reckon the lesson to learn here is reinforce the center of that cart and those legs with 2x4's next time. RIP shop cart. We barely knew ye.
Aftermath, please!

Wow, you put and engine on a plastic cart, I'm sorry but simply have no words :o
Well the cart was rated at 750lbs, the engine was 440 plus the trans at about 144lbs we should have been totally fine, but apparently chinese pounds the cart must have rated in are different
Real life in the banger biz, take care brother/sister, take care
That's gonna leave a mark!🤣
In Toronto, someone doing K24 Honda swap into 997, check it out. K997
At least no one was hurt
That is jacked up
Damn..............
Was that a harbor freight cart?
Didn’t you see the cart bowing as it took the weight of the engine? It was plain to see what was about to happen.
pinhile in the oil cooler will cause it. Had it in my TT
Perfect excuse for a new engine ;-)
Comedy Capers is back
Oh, snap. It’s free! ❤️😂
6:39. Watch when he pulls away the mud flap. Something is in there.
Why did you cut off the best part? What’s the max capacity on that plastic cart??? 🤔 Eh who cares…..🙄
Well that was a really bad choice. Could have taken the car with it. I’m glad you got lucky.
Ahhh Houston.........
I mean thats only your fault if u trust pile of plastic cart to put engine on come on man
oh boy....looks like something that would happen to me...NOT Nathan
Oooooops
You could LS swap like Hoovie? His mate the Car Ninja has an awesome engine / gearbox trolley too, looks expensive but erm sturdy.
Yeah, That's AGA's hydraulic table - costs about 5k$
Shoulda had a couple of propane tanks on the bottom shelf.
I heard a ls swap is cheap and easy lol
Love the content! Makes me remember to not buy one...
