Such a freekn awesome build!!!! I can just see it, stop motion, walking across a foggy nomans land as some poor un-names soldier trips and raises his hands in 1950s terror.
It's not just a stompy flamer. It is an integral.piece to play the Dragon mission! Who would have known that you'd be so precise in creating something for Trench Crusade!
Great films Dan, I didn't see "the deadly spawn" until a few years ago. Absolutely love it. Plus your work is good as always. Really like the new laid back vlog approach in this video.
That was bloody brilliant, I love the idea of tracks never taking off during WWI and some bright spark went the other way and decided to make things walk instead. Very War of the Worlds that, the choice of music at the end added to that vibe. Nice work and well worth the wait buddy.
Looking great so far, halfway through, popped in to say those little plastic bits are called "Snap Fasteners", those fingies for raincoat buttons and stuff, to be honest all of the snap fasteners I saw look amazing for stretail ;P
I picked up a pack of fasteners myself a while back. Haven't been making a lot of sci fi terrain lately, so they've sat in my supply box. But if I ever want to make some tiny valves, I'll be set.
Holy hell…looks bloody brilliant Dan ❤ great video as always! I'm a massive fan of the Victorian dark gothic aesthetic anyway but you have really got me interested in this trench crusade stuff
Love the build. I was always a sucker for big walking mechs ever since the AT-ATs in "The Empire Strikes Back" Anyway, movie guesses: I think the first one was "Tommyknockers" but I'm not sure, "Rambo III," "Leviathan," "The Deadly Spawn: The Aliens Return" And I didn't recognize the last one.
8:09 You can also use the nib and felt from inside of the pen to make alcohol inks if you need them for acrylics. You just soak them in 91% isopropyl alcohol until it absorbs the ink. There's a video on it on Again Savage's Tested.
Amazing build! I would have loved a suspended armor plate over the barrels (still with plenty of gaps ofc), but maybe that's an addition for some higher difficulty levels in the game :D
Seeing you in the sweet shop is like watching an angelic spider.... Just LOOK at you spinning your intricate your web... I personally think you have a "thing" with the tooth fairy. xoxo
Re: styrene sheet (also Sintra or expanded PVC) - find your local sign shops. It's a common material that they'll buy in 4x8' sheet. Ask about cut offs. I regularly throw scrap out anything under 30cm square as I've got loads.
@@Dan_Does yep, as I expected your model turned out great, give's me a very pseudo religious hierarchy in an alternate diesel-punk WW1 setting, now I'm of to listen to some Bowie, cheers for a great video and the earworm 😁
Your little value handles are called "plastic snap buttons". There are older fashion metals ones as well, that can work like some type of hand wheel. As found on old Action-man clothing.
1. It's drunk 2. It looks like the squid guy from SpongeBob 3. I know my references to be cool for the kids of today 4. Amazing build! I love everything about it
Am I the only person who was told that they are called 'poppers'? Maybe the word's gone out of style as it's also used for something quite different...
Seeing that you are waxing lyrical about those paperclips, have you tried Breadboard patch wires? They usually come in packs of various lengths up to about 150 mm down to about a couple of mm and colours for pretty cheap. They aren't as strong as paperclips I think, as they are designed to bend around components but I think could be useful. Just a thought that occurred whilst watching. Cheers 🤘🏼
I try to buy plastic signs when they go on clearance. Stuff like "Keep Out" and signs of that nature that are printed on sheet styrene. Then use them as sheet styrene instead of signs.
@Dan_Does I'm not sure if you have them in the UK, but here we get these little flat plastic fasteners to hold plastic bags closed. Bread bags, bagel bags, and other various baked goods. I have found them as bigger versions on plastic bags of cat litter. My point, they are made out of thick styrene most of the time. Cut square and rectangles out of them and you can make a lot of little detail plates. Just save them up and trim to use as needed.
DEUS VULT!!! AVE MARIA!!!! Sorry that build triggered some repressed memories. That tikTok video should have the Platoon soundtrack Adagio for strings. Really like the build, the tilt gives it a realistic quality as most of the WWI were very wonky, and I can just imagine one of those rocking from side to side inviting people to a non consensual BBQ. Cheers!!!
I can just imagine the poor bastard that has to ride on top of that thing as it BOBS and LEARCHES about the shell-hole laden battle field. Gona make that flame thrower useless as e squelchers the fires while projectile vomiting like hose in every direction.
Excellent build! Really liked it and would love to play on a board with it. Any chance you'd do some a weird trench board in the same style please? Think you'd smash that. Also really liked how you didn't verbally make the clear 'fire-breathing' link between your dragon intro and your build, that would be vulgar and crass. Just left it there on the table for us to pick up ourselves. Art 🤌
Loved this build. came across the channel thanks to your streams with Ashens. (Balletdude on his twitch streams) The films I think are The Tommyknockers Rambo 3 The Deadly Spawn

Nice intro. Tells us exactly what to expect, accurately and precisely.

Great
Super cool! Always impressive how cohesive your projects look in the end, and I love seeing your techniques for building and painting.
Thank you very much!
Great to see more creators building for this game
Great films Dan, I didn't see "the deadly spawn" until a few years ago. Absolutely love it.

I really love this one. I can almost see and hear it walk.
Me too. Thanks
Awesome builds man, those meat tenderizer club legs, brutal. Love em! Also the base 👌👌👌 mint work as Always .

hey, that's great! my Heretics have never been happier to know something doesn't have rules (yet)!
It gives me Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds vibes for some reason, especially with the outro music. I absolutely love it!
Jolly good show 'ol chap! That is indeed a trenchmech!
Thank you
I love that you have done some stuff for trench crusade I've actually just started to get into it, the aesthetic is great
This is so dope! Best mech build on yt
Very kind
That fence and chair/ throne really make the mech... can just imagine a gas mask wearing Pontif sitting atop operating it, awesome job again! 👍👍
Excellent stuff as always. I once again desire it upon my shelf.
Thanks again!
These cross joints do look great. Nice touch
Thanks 👍
As always, you're an inspiration.
I appreciate that!
Brilliant as always ❤

Wow yeah, it does feel very Jeff Wayne's War of the worlds doesn't it?
Stompy looks great!
I love that he had buckaroo bonsai, that movie is a trip
So good!
Thanks bud

I'm surprised you got Leviathan. All correct
@@Dan_Does I love a good cheesy horror, especially if it has wet puppets.
Brilliant mate and a happy new year to you too.
Happy new year!
I'd love to see your interpretation of a dragon if you did want to do a tidy bit of sculpting!
I will be sculpting soon
god that's a thing of beauty, that is
Quite liked those dragons, very nice.
Me too!
The sprue thingies are snap/push buttons! you can get a pack of em online for pretty cheap if you need more in the future
Thank you
Glad to see you're back, Dan! Hope 2025 has been treating you well!
So far
lovely video. Thanks for sharing :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Do love a bit of the old Kaiser Friedrich-Marsch at the end there
Excellent build Dan 💯. Reminds me of the great automaton war of of 1913 😂.
Aaah, yes
Great video very interesting and infomativ also great movie and calender taste.
Glad you enjoyed it

A triumphant return.
The Tommyknockers is peak 90's Stephen King TV goodness!
Dan does.. his kids homework for them.
We both did it
This was amazing!
Thank you

great build. flicks reminded me of Food of the Gods, which you might like.

I'm going to sit right down...
Lovely, relaxed and down to earth video! I mean we go to the bleak universe of human suffering to relax, after all, wouldn't you agree?
Yes
That chair on top just needs a priest with an aspergillum but instead of holy water he's throwing Byzantine Fire.
I love your creations thanks to this great video
Thanks for watching
8:24 happy new year Dan!
Happy New year
It's hard to believe, but I think you are getting even snarkier. cheers.

15:21 oh no Dan... This word will live on forever #stretail
Unfortunately
Glorious!
The "structural integrity"-drinking game? 🍻
Perfection!
Thank you!
for half a second I thought that was Bill at the sweets shop
Nope
18:20 I think they might be snap fasteners, like you find on duvet covers
Ah great. Thank you
'Hemline Snap Fasteners - Nylon (Invisible), 7mm, 12 sets' at the big river

I'm not a wargamer at all but I've built some of those Rubicon kits before and they're really really nice.
They are
amazing!
Thanks!
Good idea giving up on 'stretail'. It just doesn't have the same zazz that likecomscribe does.

@@Dan_Doesthey'd be great for cables and tiny pipes and bend better than paperclips.

You should put TRENCH CRUSADE in the video description once, maybe even twice for the algorithm...
Maybe more
✞ Sweet build! ✞
