  • Archery Hunting Wild Hogs - Destructive Broadhead Damage
In this video, I go archery hunting for wild hogs! This broadhead does some destructive damage. For some time now wild hogs have been tearing up our property and we have been trying to get them to slow down here, but they reproduce faster than we can hunt. Archery hunting has quickly become one of my favorite styles for hunting because it takes a lot of nature and practiced skill. Hog hunting with a bow is very challenging because your shot has to be perfect. Luckily for me the Grim Reaper broadheads do some destructive damage, which makes the kill much easier to achieve. I must say hunting the destructive hogs is easier when you have a broadhead that is more destructive than they are. How hunting with a bow is a lot of fun and I would recommend if you are into hunting wild hogs and have not done it with a bow to give it a shot. Bowhunting destructive Florida hogs on ‪@Saltyscales‬ channel was our very first attempt at the hog hunts but didn't go so well when we couldn't find the pig. This made us switch from the fixed broadheads to the mechanical broadheads, and we have had a success rate of 100% since then.

I particularly enjoy archery feral pig hunting. What destructive animals, not just for farm crops but they also tear up the natural habitat other native species depend on. Good on you, Chris, for helping control their popuation

Any time I take a wild pig, I process it and then put it in a jumbo cooler and put ice over the meat for multiple days (7 days for a sow or bar hog, 14 for a in-tact boar). You leave the drain port on the cooler loose, so the melting ice doesn't pool water in the cooler and ruin the meat. The melting ice rinses the meat as it melts and makes a HUGE difference in removing the game taste.

Great Video. Glad to see you wearing the safety harness. I have had two falls from tree stands with the last one fracturing the T11 in my back. Both times it was climbing down when the accident occurred. I now use an ascending / descending rope as well from HHS. Still....I shake like a leaf for 10 minutes when I finally get into the stand until my nerves steady. Then it is business as usual. Keep up with the pig hunting videos. We got nothing open up here for another 3 weeks.....then it is turkey season. Looking forward to the next video.

Hey, thanks for watching Randy! Dude, I take it pretty seriously going up and down, and making sure I am strapped to the tree! I have had two friends that have had brain injuries, just from falling from a normal ladder. You're blessed to still be able to hunt and get up in the tree. Where do you live?? Turkey Season just opened here in FL. I have gone out once with no luck. Hoping to be posting more hunting videos. I have just seriously gotten into hunting. Learning the ropes

@@CaptChrisCanning I live in Ontario Canada. Going to be visiting Florida just as soon as the border opens again and I have my vaccination shots. I’m in the “vulnerable age group”. I got a new granddaughter I have not met yet. Maybe get some pig hunting in at the same time. 🙂

Be interesting to see how long it will take for the pigs to come back . Liked Gary’s comment about using dynamite 🧨. 😈. Will be waiting to see what you guys are up to next..👍

*Thanx Chris... Nice Job, Well Planned & Got it Done Video Wise ... I was thinking after that on point 2nd H of the 4-H Club shot... 'Well Chris, I guess it's on to the next part of chasing those 15 suckling piglets" ... But then, like you said..."Nor do I want to turn this into a full hunting channel" ... I agree... But If you'll take a moment to think about it... A Suckling Pig Salk, Harvest & Cooked Old School would be fun ...and a bit different don't you think? It would take some cooking skills from them that know... but learning new stuff is what makes the channel fun to view plus cooking is what makes some of these channels so popular too* .. You guys are appreciated! ..gw

I have a question, I’m 15 and pulling about 53 pounds of draw weight which my dad wants me to keep, would my q.a.d exodus broadheads which are 85 grains be enough to kill one?

@@Mr.JayOutdoors I know this is 2 years old but I just figured I'd shout out that your shot was spot on perfect. It was that crappy mechanical that caused you what little issues you had. At that range on that small of a hog and also with that shot placement, you would have a clean pass through with a cut on contact fixed blade. Many out there nowadays that fly very well, G5, QAD, Slick Trick, Muzzy, all make very high quality fixed blades that fly extremely well and will zip right through an animal.

Hey Chris, I enjoyed the narration part of the video again. Sometimes it is better than trying to hear people whispering. BTW ~ Nice SHOT! It's sort of a shame Josh was not there to get one too. Why are you using that lone pine out in the open instead of that big tree near where the corn was dumped? Wind direction? Great looking place. Where, Florida? I so enjoy bow hunting wild pigs. I like to kill like the 150# ones for meat. But I will stick any of them whether I can find them or not. I began using heavier arrows about four years ago for me. Around 450 grains seems to be good for my draw weight etc. The Magnus Black Hornet with bleeders seems to be the best head. Breaking ribs so easy. At 285 fps they will pass thru most average hogs shoulder shield plate to get decent penetration for the kill. Good video here. Keep making them.

Putting cleaned hog on ice and vinegar for 24hrs. This will take the wild taste out of the meat . Have dine this 20times . They are good being cooked over a heat of 200 degrees for 24hrs.
