    Average Guy HiFi Rating - 35/40 = 87.5%

    Recommend Power: 20 - 150 watts
    Impedance: 8 ohms
    Sensitivity: 89 dB
Mid/Woofer: 6.5" (16.51 cm) d (Round) Dynamic Balance driver with polymer composite cone and rubber surround
Tweeter: 1" (2.54 cm) d (Round) Dynamic Balance silk polymer composite dome

    Depth -14" (35.56 cm)
    Weight - 16 lbs each (7.26 kg)
    MSRP - $399
    Quality - 8.5
For the price, the construction is pretty good. The highlight is the real wood veneer, which is usually unheard of at this price point.
The cabinets also feel solid and well designed and the grills are also much heavier duty than I was expecting.
    Sound - 8.5
The 6.5” woofer puts out great bass and the Power Port allows you to put them closer to walls, then most rear ported speakers.
The mids were good but a little scooped out, for my tastes.
The highs are detailed and precise but a tad fatiguing.
    Aesthetics - 9.0
I’ve always liked the silver/black combo of the Polk RTi lineup but I’m not a huge fan of the silver corners of the grill.
They are fairly large so make sure you have the room for them.
    Price Paid Value - 9.0
This deal popped up and I just knew o had to snag them. Picking up great sounding speakers like these for $130 is one of the main reasons I started this channel.
    Average Guy HiFi Rating - 35/40 = 87.5%
    Final Thoughts -
These speakers are a prime example of what I love about this hobby and why I started this channel.
Are these the best sounding speakers I’ve ever heard? No.
Are these speakers about as good as you can do for the money? Just about.
Beginners and people with smaller budgets, be sure to put the Polk RTi lineup on your search lists!
    Equipment Used -
    CD Player - Oppo BDP-93
Integrated Amp - PeachTree Nova 300

Great to have you back! I own these, as well as the RTiA7’s. I consider them hidden gems if installed correctly in a controlled environment for music.

I have these setup in the garage with an HSU 12" sub and I agree with your assessment. Closeup they can be a little fatiguing but give em a little bit of juice and and open room and they can play ball. Great review, good to see ya back.

I run a pair of rti4 which the rtia3 directly replaced in my bedroom and some days I think they're my favorite speakers I've ever owned and I've owned a BUNCH of speakers. I also have a pair that I use as front heights in my atmos system thats all rti-line speakers

Have these for side surrounds with the rti A5 for fronts. Best I could afford back in the day and they still work great!

They still hold up very well. Should have zero issues keeping up with surround duties.
      Thanks for the feedback!

Matched with the right equipment, they are fantastic, but the tweeters need taming.

I will NEVER sell mine! Feed them A HIGH-END Tube preamp, and revel in smooth linear sonics! They perform admirably.

Glad to see you back. Whatever happened to your Klipsch's THX Ultra's?

      @blazermdx  7 месяцев назад

Unfortunately, I sold them a few sets ago. Replaced them with 3 KEF R3 bookshelf speakers.
I still miss the Ultra2 sand my Episode setups. Hopefully one day, I’ll have more room and I land another set of either.
I have a speaker problem though:)

I have a pair of the Cherry veneered. They look even better. But I don't use them. Tweeter is too hot. I prefer the Elac Debut B6s, the first generation, less fatiguing more laid back tweeter and more bass

2:30 You can't get these anymore but i had them great speakers especially for the price probably preform at 2 or 3 times the price the real cherry veneer is sweet way better than klipsh at same price i now have the lsim 703 all i can say is excellent

I do these videos in one shot and I totally forgot to mention the wood version of the RTi lineup. I think the wood versions are the best looking in this series and I usually prefer the black versions of speakers.
I still miss my Polk LSiM 703. I found a Cherry pair at a pawn show last week for $380 but someone dropped one of them so I passed.
      Thanks for sharing with us!

Hey Average Guy Hifi, could you PLEASE help me out? I just purchased these RTI A3 speakers secondhand on Facebook Marketplace and the power ports had been removed. I still have them but the screws are missing. Could you please tell me which screws these take? I talked with Polk customer service and they weren’t able to help me since these speakers were discontinued. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
