    Excellent review. I have one of the R-202's on pre-order and can't wait for it to come in. I will build a bigger board if I have to, but by removing my Collider I think it will be just fine. Thank you for such an informative explanation of features.

    Great video! I'm already looking for room on my board as well!
    Side note: "wow and flutter" is actually just a side effect from variations in a machine's read and write speed. Not from the "snaking" tape in the return chamber. Nothing is recorded or read in there. That is simply a clever method to lengthen the tape loop, and prevent damage or tangling as it moves through the unit. It does look cool though!

    The RE-202 looks great, sounds great and it’s the only boss pedal that has actually excited me in many years.
    I hope they keep up with this retro type aesthetic in other effects as it’s great.

    Very nicely done. Quick Q: does the tempo sync to MIDI clock if its present at the MIDI IN jack? Thanks...

    Just a little history nit-pick.. I think to be true there were other companies making tape echo before Roland - Watkins in UK, KLEMT 'Echolette' units in Germany, Echoplex (USA?), etc ... but Roland Space Echo was obviously a massive hit, and added the reverb to the same size package too.
    Can't wait to try the new pedal version!

    The spring sounds good to me, does it ‘drip’? I’ve got the re-20, it has a boring reverb…
    Does the 202 has a master / input volume? I use this on the re-20 as a attenuator like thing.
    Great review by the way!

    This retailer sells ALOT of high end guitar amps. It's shame that you've not demo'd them and even done so LIVE.

    The Re-reissues are great for live stuff but I was sad to see they went the "clean and sterile" DSP route, unlike the EP-3 clone MXR did that allowed for dirt, wear and grit (which sounds killer in the studio). The RE-20 self oscillation is spot on though, love that! I made a quick video about theem here if interested: ruclips.net/video/RFNa6cqx5ps/видео.html

    • @adamnesbitt11
      @adamnesbitt11 Год назад

      These are digital pedals, there are no BBDs. BBD delays are also the opposite of clean and sterile.

    • @JMLRecording
      @JMLRecording Год назад

      @@adamnesbitt11 Yes, I meant DSP not BBD. I do think the pedal is a bit sterile imho. Especially compared to the real deal it is trying to emulate. Thanks Adam
