Hello David! The white on top of soil is Mildew caused by the soil staying very wet for too long. Sometimes you have to remove plant from that soil and start over with a new potting soil. Keep saucers clean and the inside of your cache clean and remove dying and dead leaves from the plant which attracts the fungus gnats and other bugs and or insects. I believe you will notice a big difference my friend.
Hi David. Alocasia. I give 1 ounce of water to mine, 2 times a week, every Tuesday and every Friday. Lots of Sun. And fertilize once in a while. Mine is over 2 feet high, and I live in Montreal, Canada, very hard to grow tropicals. This works every time. I love that you care so much. Keep on truckin. Great Stuff. Maria.
As a rule I always bathe my cuttings in the diluted alcohol solution, and then spray them with neem oil solution before putting them in propagation medium. Since starting doing that, I never had pests on my propagations. It may help you.
Getting mosquito bits isn’t going crazy-it’s like 2-4 tbsp per gallon of water or whatever the packaging says, you just let it sit until the bti disperses (I use a little mesh bag for mine and steep it like tea), and you’re set. (Also, they aren’t too expensive-I still have my bag from last year and I use it liberally. If you have a Tractor Supply Co near you, I believe it’s cheapest, there. That’s where I got mine. My only fungus gnats come from new plants that come with them at this point. Also, bottom watering helps a ton with fungus gnats. For mealies, I nuked them with alcohol and mite-x on the leaves, and ended up putting systemics in the soil. I still don’t trust the plant that had them-it was sent to me with mealies-so I still keep it secluded with my plants that attract pests, but I haven’t seen mealies on it for 2 months.😁
It’s just been terrible the last 2 months and I can relate to the depression. I to struggle with it. But yeah I’m gonna set a day aside and treat all of my plants and serious down size. Have a great night David and I love watching your videos.
Hi David, Your plants are wonderfully beautiful. I would like to know if you can/will send me some cuttingsof whateveryou would send. If you would like to know why I asked . It was suggested to me to do something that would help me rehabilitate. I had a stroke. I can't really afford to buy plants if I buy the products needed to take care of the plants. I'm just trying to get started. Once I'm acclimated to being a plant mom, I'll be able to budget buy plants and everything that I will need for them. If I have offended you by me asking, I do apologize for that is not my intent. If you have questions for me, please ask.❤❤❤❤

Your plant shelves are looking good with the refresh you just gave them. I think your Jacklynn would like a self watering pot. My cupra love theirs
I like your shelf set-up. Looks good!
Neem oil spray! Makes a difference keeps the pest away n other fungus n scale. I love the stuff.❤
Awwww those poor little babies with the mealies!! I wonder if you can soak the moss in something to help kill those bugs- good luck
Hey David you can buy a basket 🧺 for your top shelf and put all your nick nacks , an idea.
The syngonium Carti road will do best with water propagation.

The Jacklyn needs a better medium and self watering plus they’re heavy feeders.
