I had a huge smile on my face listening to talk about playing with Doyle and the Phils and the reason I did was two fold. One, was the amount of pride I felt seeing you playing in a lineup like this knowing how far you’ve come and being able to come along for the ride and the other was because for the past 20 years, that’s been something I’ve always hoped to be able to do. Good job, Brad and keep it up!

As a guy about 12 years older than you from Sonoma County (Penngrove), it brings me huge pride to know a guy from our area is doing so well in the poker world and sitting next to these legends. I used to play at the 101 Casino and now Graton for fun but 20 years ago I used to dream of doing what you are doing. Couldn't be prouder of you that you're doing what you love and are making it and taking us along for the ride with humor and humility.

The 101 is where my dad worked (not Bay 101 for anyone reading this not from Sonoma County). My mom actually named it that, before it was Sonoma Joe's. I played there quite a bit from 2010-2012. Thanks for the comment Rick.

I used to go to Sonoma on a regular basis and spent time around the Napa valley quite a bit in my senior year of high school and first year after. This would have been around 2004-2005. And then I came back to California after some time away at college and really spent most of my free time there with one of my best friends. We went to Sonoma State on several occasions, hung out in Petaluma many times and went line-dancing in downtown petaluma at Kodiak Jacks when it was still open. Crazy you grew up around where I did and have been to tons of the same places. Thanks for the great content Brad. Super proud of your dedication and commitment man. Only place to go from here is up!

I played with Hellmuth in a charity event ran by the Wounded Warrior Project in Dallas sometime around 2012 (looked up my post about it, it was Feb 2011), and he was a real stand up guy. Posed with anyone who wanted a picture, myself included, and while not playing MC, he spoke multiple times to the room and kind of announced the all ins at the final table. It's one of my better poker memories.

Brad, I saw a missed opportunity at the 16:38 minute mark. Supersystem / post oak bluff !! I used it once and it worked. It was against a weak flush holding also. This is what I did, with four to the flush my opponent checked I slowly did a spade check then bet out 1/4 pot sliding the chips out slowly. My opponent folded face up to HIS READS ON ME. He showed 8,4. I showed and said oh! I just had a pair of Jack's. I only showed because he did. It helped me later against him with trip queens I threw my arms in the air (changing gears) and said I'M ALL IN!! He called me and lost his stack.

I had left the table to take a break. I was seat 2, he was the new guy with a cowboy hat in seat 4. Didn't even notice it was him when I got back because I had been chatting with seat 1...until Doyle drawled "yes ma'am" to my all-in announcement and I glanced over. Always humble! Love watching your success dude!
I do hope that you don't stop posting your breakdowns, the realistic brutality of them are one of the things that make you relatable. And, my $500-1k slumps don't feel as bad. ;-)
    Run good!

People are going to stop underestimating you very soon, Brad. I know you can find a way to use that to your advantage while maintaining your calculating style. You just continue to rise, man. It’s been great to be on this journey with you and I know it will continue to get better. Always wishing you the best of luck.

Love the fact Brad has gotten to the point where a legend of Phil Ivey casually loans him 80k in chips. Big ups to Brad - started from the bottom now look where he is - just amazing.

Thank you man. It's been really cool to document everything and share it. I think in 20 years or so it'll be fun to look back on this period of my life too. This session was certainly a highlight.
If you're interested in visiting the lodge, I'd suggest going during the Lodge Championship Series in April/May. We'll have a meet up game at some point during that time. I'll likely be there from May 8-16 or so. Here's the schedule in case you're able to make it: thelodgepokerclub.com/lcs-main-event/

Been watching the roll-ups every year and I enjoy them. Understood it may revolve around 2-3 big sessions, but it takes all the sessions to come up with the final number and those graphs show it all. Recommend keeping them but it’s your channel, thanks for the great poker content Brad!

This is now my second stint playing poker for a living. The first time didn't go so well; I went broke, had to go back to school, and then I was working for an accounting firm where you could literally see the Bellagio fountains going off in the distance everyday. I would always think to myself I wish I was playing poker instead of working on Excel spreadsheets. I understand and appreciate your comment.

When some of these names started showing up in the vlogs early on, it seemed inevitable that you’d sit with these guys more regularly. It’s been so fun watching you grow as a player, creator, and person. Congrats on an amazing 2022, but 2023 has no idea what’s about to hit it!

Gotta laugh at Hellmuth. "I can't think of anything I can beat." Then calls anyway. That's almost as good as when he puts his opponents on the exact hand that they have beating him, but still calls.

So proud of you Brad, to see you go from the little leagues to battling the GOATs. You are keeping Doyle's legacy going by continuing to build up/promote poker the way he originally did (except with more dry humor and less cowboy hats). Keep up the great work! One of your best vlogs yet.

Brad, you need to take a snap shot of 4:29 and frame it. That is a picture that should hang in your house forever and ever. That is as heart warming and touching of a poker picture as there ever could be. A genuine "in the moment" between you and the legend himself.

That hand vs Doyle is momentous. You have been a pro player for a long while, but the last few months have propelled you to a new level. You still call these hands "one of the biggest of my life" but you handle them a lot better than you did a year ago as you have been involved in several now. Congratulations :)
